I'll sit on it until it is officially announced. MVG is moving on June 20th and won't have internet until July, so we either record early or don't do it at all.

Good thing most of the rest of those are short, since I'm pretty sure that Xenoblade 3, Elden Ring, and Persona 5 will run you around 300-500 hours just for those three :p.

The Direct is late this year because Nintendo has been too busy playing the finished versions of the next Fire Emblem, Breath of the Wild 2, Metroid Prime 4, Mario Kart 9, Mario Odyssey 2, and Pikmin 4 that they have been hording to themselves since 2020.

When Nintendo is “sitting” on these finished games, are they using the time for additional polishing / optimization or are the games literally finished and untouched for months?

The new FE sounds interesting, although the new details have me slightly apprehensive too. I'd prefer a new entry be firmly grounded in its own lore rather than being another celebratory mishmash, since between Awakening & Warriors, those have typically had weaker stories. The way you describe that last point, it almost sounds... Heroes-esque.

And a protagonist with red and blue hair sounds pretty tacky, lol.

Hopefully the rumors of a remake of FE4 pan out. The Jugdral games could really be so amazing remade.

Summoning past characters? So it's a console port of Heroes, then. Hope the protagonist uses a gun in this one too :p

More seriously; sounds interesting but i'm not totally sold on the past characters returning as the big gimmick of the game yet.

Being content complete does not mean a game is finished though; they've absolutely been polishing it up since.

The summoning heroes with emblems thing sounds suspiciously like gacha... But I will take heart in the fact that FEH still is going and, if I had to guess, they're not planning on replacing it. Here's hoping, anyway!
