I feel like all bets are off on when we get to see EPD Tokyo's game after they've ghosted us for nearly 5 years. lol

I mean BotW2 is only half a year away after a long development cycle and we still have no clue what the 3D Mario team has been doing. This feels like a case where NCL should really just bite the bullet and drop a teaser trailer like they did for BotW2 and Splatoon 3 for their respective first looks, even if the game is a year+ away.

I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the fact that Tanabe is the producer from Nintendo who oversees Paper Mario in addition to DK and Metroid lol. I don't think it was teasing or referencing anything else.

I got this game for Christmas but have yet to play it. I really need to get on that but I keep forgetting that I have it lol. I had every intention to start it this weekend but I forgot to pack it in my bag before leaving to my family's house

I was told that Wind Waker HD at 60FPS was actually something Nintendo tried to do for the Wii U version but it was breaking physics and animations and going for it wouldn't have been worth the trouble. Was that in an article somewhere?
 
It’s been a year since they announced N64 and Genesis for NSO, hopefully we get an announcement for GB/GBC in the next Direct.

Really? I hope they managed to work around that. Since SS was 60 fps I am expecting WW and TP to also be at 60. I think the only Wii U game that is stuck at 30 for some reason is Tokyo Mirage Sessions (I guess BOTW lol).

I can't speak for Wind Waker specifically cause I know nothing about its technical aspects but some games having animations tied to frame rate. Some PC ports of console games break and glitch out when intended frame rate cap is broken. So any game that has these needs to be seriously reworked to function property at higher frame rates.

I'm actually an insider when it comes to gaming-centric podcasts. Let's just say that fans of special guests are going to like Nate's new episode. 😉
 
Nintendo has access to WW and TP HD source code so I can imagine a 60 FPS conversion would be more feasible than what emulator modders try to do. It's how Tantalus was able to get Skyward Sword running at 60, and these games share much of the same engine. Of course,they mention it was a huge effort, no doubt they had to deal with wonky physics and animations. Because WW and TP HD remasters are 'done', Nintendo may not consider it worth the effort if they're just going to bundle both of them.

Looking forward to your thread! I think simple OPs are generally better since they load smoother on mobile, but all of that other stuff you had planned could be awesome posts you threadmark. Or you can add it to the OP gradually and put it behind spoiler tagged sections. The most important thing is making the home for people to hang out in!

You're absolutely right! The important thing, to begin with, is for the community to have an actual thread to hang out in, and I think I got too caught up in peripheral stuff, in the process. That's why I'm apologizing. 😅 I can always add to the OP, as the thread moves along! I'm hoping engagement is decent, as there's been some really great Metroid discussion elsewhere, on Fami, and I know the series has some passionate fans here (myself among them, of course!)

Like I said, it'll be up within a week, and if it somehow isn't, I'm happy to hand it off to @Joe. 🙂
 
Might just do a general Pokemon ST myself and put it up a month before the Scarlet & Violet ST, which I'm also doing. Now that I don't have any commitments on Era until the 2023 Australian Open, my thread making time is certainly open!
