I would be fine with wide linear levels. Kind of like 3D World, but where you would have full camera control.I wonder how people would react if the new DK played like Crash

I’m aware, and still this is not good since one of the main reasons for Iwata to unify their development teams was to minimise their infamous droughts that happened among other things because they had to support two different platforms.
Also, they’re been increasing their talent hiring more and more people, unifying and improving their teams and pipeline on the same building with better tools, contracting many external support studios and still they’re struggling releasing new games so they need to re-re-release games not just to icing the cake of a great lineup or covering some unexpected delay, but apparently as a main strategy. This is bad (Noah).
Keep in mind not all games needs the time and resources as a Zelda project, and even Monolith is releasing pretty big games at a very reasonable pacing. Many first party games are not that packed on content or scope and still takes too long I think.
I’m beginning to think that their problem is not the games takes too long but that they somewhat had issues on the creative department, like not knowing how to innovate o bring new ideas to their franchises so they instead decide to release the old games while thinking a few more years. Maybe the younger teams brings many pitches that won‘t get approved, or they shelf projects mid-dev after many upending of tea tables.
In any case as an old gamer that already played many times most of those rumoured games, it’s disappointing there’s a chance that in the next 12-18 months I won’t play many new games but only remasters. For a huge successful console as the Switch that apparently still has 3-4 years of support, that’s a let down. The only hope is that they could be waiting until Drake unveil to show new games… who knows. Right now the only thing I want is to get BOTW2 before any other old Zelda game.
If I had a nickel for every time Nintendo Youtubers clickbaited this, I'd be a millionaire.
The harsh truth
Pick 1Probably
I refuseI'd say just be happy
Yo sorry to hear this. I wish I saw this earlier because I'm totally down. I'll be on later today.Fami I am having a terrible night. My ex and I just got into some heavy stuff and I’m struggling to handle it.
Would anyone want to play some Mariokart with me? I really need a friend right now. This isn’t a joke or a shitpost.
Please PM me your friend code if you want to set up some races.
I hope RPG lolFor DK, I wonder what kind of genre this game will be...
Good lord J.R. Good loooooorddddNate commented on Spawncast that he thinks Donkey Kong is going to be announced either this next Direct or early next year. Hope either is the case!
Unfortunatly, DK is not real, he's a fictional caracter created by Nintendo, but, I'm just like you, I wish he was real. We would need more DK in this dark place called Earth...So DK actually real or nah?
Uh, really. I've heard conflicting stories about a Switch Donkey Kong, so I can't wait to see what actually happens. Hopefully the rumors of EPD making it are true.Nate commented on Spawncast that he thinks Donkey Kong is going to be announced either this next Direct or early next year. Hope either is the case!

I heard a DK game was being made by a third party developper earlier this gen but eventually internally cancelled lol, not like it's a truthful info or anything, more of something that was brought up in a conversation with I don't even know who anymore.I love everyone is hearing things about the DK game now, except for me.
As I said, fill the gaps is ok. Releasing mainly ports and only a few -and often minor- new games (it happened a few years ago) is a completely different thing, and that‘s my fear. Emily is one of the most reliable sources we got and if she thinks Nintendo is actually developing or considering most of the ports we were discussing a few pages ago, that’s doesn’t bode well for me because (to me personally) shows a misplaced focus, and I’m in for a 80-20% new games-ports ratio, but not higher. The thing is Nintendo also sits on a lot of games that are finished. They are also moving towards a new system it seems, meaning those old teams are working on games for the new system that may release in 2023 or 2024. Having ports and remasters from games that people really wanted helps to fill up the gaps, plus a lot of Nintendo Switch owners never touched those GameCube games. So win-win.
You are also assuming this because of unofficial information we got. We have no idea if Nate, Jeff or Emily heard about more things, but are not willing to talk about it, or they don't know. I guess it also depends on what kind of system the Switch successor will be. Will it be able to play Switch games and improve them as well? If so then you have a huge library of Switch games being upgraded for the new system.
I digress but I am not too worried about Nintendo's future line-up just because we seem to be getting more remasters. I think it is a good moment to fill up a year with both new and remastered games.
Yes. The DK game should be 2D.There is no way that DK is 3D. The 3D game EPD Tokyo works on is Mario, not DK.
Not gonna @ her over it, but I don’t think Emily has placed her backing behind it still. The day that happens is when I truly get excited for it.I love everyone is hearing things about the DK game now, except for me.

No. The rumor is that DK game is made at Tokyo. They had hirings for 2 projects, 2D and 3D one. 3D is new Mario game and 2D is probably DK then. This makes no sense. Working on 3D Mario games has nothing to with whether or not their DK game is 3D or not. If that’s the direction they chose to take, then that’s what it will be.
Yeah, she hasn’t heard about it.Not gonna @ her over it, but I don’t think Emily has placed her backing behind it still. The day that happens is when I truly get excited for it.
Same and I hope it won't be part of the Direct.Gotta say I couldn't be any less interested in a movie trailer in a gaming presentation.
Hey I really really liked Observer at least.I hope it's a relatively faithful remake because Bloober Team... woof.
You can't put an /s on facts. You dropped your /s bud!

This just reminds me how a lot of us are still waiting for another New original Top down Zelda game.lol
"The Last of Us, Resident Evil 2/3 and God of War have over-the-shoulder cameras so we need to shoehorn one into Silent Hill 2. Fuck artistic integrity and cinematic symbolism. This is just how things be now."
I gotta say, it is funny how certain game design decisions are inherently seen as "outdated" and "backwards," in this industry, when Nintendo does them all the time and sells millions of copies whilst doing it:
I guess having a camera that you can't move all the time makes a game 'immature' or something.
I'm pretty sure admitting that gets you put on a listHey I really really liked Observer at least.
I’m a bit depressed that most of the talk lately is mainly about ports and if Emily says Nintendo is planning many of them it‘s a bit concerning to me. Yeah I’m not lying that I’d love to see many of those eventually (F-Zero, Metroid Prime, old Zelda games, or even Baten Kaitos and Eternal Darkness), but if the rumor is that many of those and others are the main Nintendo plan for next year and beyond… meh.
Ideally, those are perfect for slow months and to fill voids between big launchs, but not as a main course for the year plus one or two new releases. From third parties is something expected (releasing old games on Switch) at this point but I’d love a different approach from Nintendo.
At least you’ll still be able to play the original SH2 thanks to the remaster.lol
