worse, I think syluxhunter is legit but trolling

if I had to guess I'd say it's another jon cartwright project
I thought it was Jon at first too but then I thought they were way too commited to the act to be him.

All the infos they revealed was soon to be officially unveiled infos, probably obteined through marketing sources. If F-Zero anything isn't at the September Direct, I'll start to doubt that info. Not sure that it's just trolling when the whole gimmick is "fuck SamusHunter, I'm here to bring real leaks to the people" lol, trolling with an IP as desired by the fans as F-Zero while revealing legit infos for everything else would be cruel lmao

I think sylexhunter has posted some real stuff, but I strongly believe that they don't have a source inside Nintendo.

Honestly, everything they've posted could have come from someone here.

The thing is they haven't posted anything blatantly wrong. If they were just speculating on likely stuff like we were they would be bound to get some things wrong.

Plus it's obviously Jon.

that's what makes it good trolling

trust me, the best trolling is at least a little cruel

The biggest thing that makes me think SyluxHunter is Jon is the "no I am the Metroid character Sylux himself" thing. Something about is so in-line with the shitposting that WDK devolved into I can't believe it's anyone else

yeah he said some very jonnish things

tempted to make an "Is SyluxHunter Jon Cartwright?" poll thread

Re-reading all SyluxHunter tweets, Jon like some cringe-on-purpose humor, but god SyluxHunter's tweets are beyond cringe with that commitment of "I'm going to kill Samus", "I only follow Samus in order to kill her", "I'm not a leaker I'm a bounty hunter" lmao, a bit too much for it to be Jon imo.

Yeah to this
We need one more and then

(I still don't think syluxhunter is legit btw)
I'm extra sceptical toward Nintendo leakers nowadays unless it's Emily, but all their infos were legit. They were followed early enough to not become famous using the "I tweet a lot of shit and will delete what was wrong after the direct" trick.

They knew about the February direct date. They knew about the June direct, it being a third party only one, it featuring Nier Automata and Persona 3/4/5. They knew about Bayonetta 3 release date, and they knew about Splatoon 3 being delayed.

It's obviously a marketing source or something along those lines, inside or outside Nintendo, and their rumors are nothing too crazy (well, apart from that F-Zero rumor, which definitely makes Raccoon's theory believable, that this one is a troll), but their infos have all been legit so far.

He said day before the Direct that Splatoon 3 is scheduled for June. It could be, but then day after that, Direct happened and Strikers was dated as June release. So Splatoon would never ever be released in June. And as we know it was 98% planned as a July release with Xeno3 as a September, they just switched spots, this is obvious and no one could say otherwise. And the funny thing is that when the Direct ended he realized that Splatoon can't be a June game since the Strikers was dated there so he just give response to this which was "There's a remote possibility that this could be outdated info now but that was what I heard as of a month ago. Apologies." What a coincidence that he said this after the Direct ended and not before it started.

Jesus this thread sure moves fast.

I'm very bad at predictions (even unrealistic ones, I don't know what to say), but I just remembered Kid Icarus Uprising exists.
Like, come on. It's right there.

So what are the chances this upcoming September Direct is an actual ~40 minute General Direct?

And not a Mini / Partner Direct like last time?
100%. This is where this new Fire Emblem is gonna get revealed. Anywhere else is too late.

We currently have no reason to believe it's a Mini/Partner Direct, and since the September Direct being a General has been the more spot on, not missing a beat, more hit than miss one than let's say a February/Spring or a June Direct, we can (for now) safely operate under the assumption that we'll get an actual September Direct in a few weeks.

SH's pronouns are they/them, fyi. On topic, the F-Zero rumor is the make-it-or-break-it thing that confirms if they are actually credible or not. The Splatoon thing was false and had a post-hoc rationalization, and "a major game with a witch main character will release the Friday before Halloween" isn't that large of a leap. Nintendo doing anything with F-Zero, even if it's not much, is.

Tbh a lot of people didn't think bayo 3 would release in October with the announcement of Nier automata also for October.
A September release could have been just as possible especially with kamiya comments about how people would have gone back to play splatoon 3 instead of bayo.

I remember some people thinking Nier Automata's October release meant that Bayonetta 3 wouldn't release in 2022 at all, which was logic that never made sense to me. Why would Platinum prioritize a port over a brand new game?

Unless we aren't getting our normal August/early September Indie Direct I don't really see a general direct coming in the first week of September. I don't really think they've ever done an indie one week and then a general the next. There's always been at least a couple weeks in between them. I don't expect a general on the week of Splatoon 3 either.

But then again it's been a weird summer for Nintendo and their marketing so...

You're already wrong. We got a brand new Pokemon announced today 💅
that’s where you’re wrong — I was entirely correct

Waluigi’s Tricycle Heist was frame for frame exactly what we got

Waluigi = Cloyster

Tri… = Third…

…Cycle = …Serpent Bicycle Pokémon

Heist = New Move Shed Tail — which creates a decoy and swaps in another Pokémon

I am undefeated and staying that way

I still feel all Pokemon'd out from catching them all in Arceus. Unless S&V are really something special I think I'll have to pass on them.

Really looking forward to this Direct though. I kind of feel like switching my vote to September 1st. I'm starting to think that makes more sense than the week of Splatoon 3.

Is that motion city soundtrack
I don't know if this is a joke or not because I don't know enough about music to be able to tell but it's gotta be because I'm absolutely dead certain you know way more about music than I do

Two Platinum games releasing in the same month would be like having two Aubrey Plaza films release in theaters in the same month.

...wait

This would be everything I want out of the Direct. If we get FE + MP remaster, I'll be happy. That + BOTW2 and I'll be ecstatic. All that + Silksong? Hoo boy

This is like, 100% aligned with my predictions too. Throw PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 games on the expansion pack too, though. I think that’s coming.

There are F Zero games on GBA and Nintendo have been working on GBA emulation for Switch.

Plus, we haven't had a 99 game this year, so far.
Those F-zero games on GBA are the reason you're not getting any now. GP Legend sold so abysmally, Nintendo cancelled the launch of the third game in the west.

And obviously VC sales on Wii and Wii U weren't enough to change Nintendo's mind.

that's not how that works

Climax didn’t come out here because it launched a month before the DS in Japan, which, given the at-the-time standard 6-ish months between JP and US releases, would have resulted in NOA publishing a GBA game when they were in the middle of their DS launch window push. Just wasn’t gonna happen.

If there is BOTW2 news and Metroid Prime HD that will be great already, and anything else would be a bonus for me. I dont expect a new 3D/2D Mario or Dk announcement yet but maybe early 2023

That makes no sense because Nintendo released many GBA games during and after the launch of DS. I know, I have bought all of them: DKC2 was released in the same month of DS, Pokémon FRLG a month before, Minish Cap two months after, DK King of Swing three months after that. And they all sold pretty well.
