Really hope the Bayo 3 CE is a worldwide release and not just Japan exclusive (or JP/EU like Astral Chain). Wouldn't really matter for me, ultimately, but it'd makes things easier... unless of course they go the Nintendo Store exclusive route. In that case... fuuuuck!

If there's a trailer tomorrow with a date for the 28th I'm more inclined to trust him than not

Still not super credible, since you need more than one solid prediction for that, but enough to pay attention
 
If Bayonetta 3's release date is really just a Twitter drop then I can understand why Kamiya is pissed at Nintendo lately. (Yes, I know it doesn't take much to piss him off probably feels it's being sent out to die).

He complained about when it would be announced not how, he said players would need to play Bayo 1+2 and wouldn’t have time for Bayo 3 release

It's not really stealing sales he's worried about. He's worried everyone in Japan will be too busy playing Splatoon 3 to notice his game released.

It probably goes more in line with money and time, than genre overlap.

Also, Splatoon is like a new religion in Japan, so.

I don't know about that while Splatoon 3 is huge and will probably suck the oxygen of all releases a couple of weeks before and after bar DQX Offline, if it releases one month after I don't think it should affect that much by that point Nintendo will make sure everyone knows Bayo 3 is coming, Nintendo marketing reach in Japan is huge

March 18th, but the announcement was all the way back on February 9th. It’s been 5 months since the first wave was revealed, and 4 months since it was released.

For context against Smash, the longest gap between character reveals was 6 months (Joker to Hero) and the longest gap between character releases was 5 months (Byleth to Min Min). Kinda crazy how we’re already getting close to those numbers for Mario Kart.
 
Gonna be pretty sad if I gotta wait ANOTHER week for MK8 news, it’s literally been “next week’s the week” with wave 2 since the start of June.

The 7-11 thing means it’s surefire though, right?

There's a Mario Kart 8 tournament or are you referring to the Splatoon 2 one? Not that it really matters. I don't think a tournament for a specific game stops Nintendo from announcing Mario Kart 8 stuff. The only issue would be if the DLC were releasing while a Mario Kart 8 tournament was happening.

Features a Witch -> October 28th release day, Bayonetta 1 first released as well on October 29th, 2009 (JPN) would be about the 28th in most of the US

Astral Chain 1.21m as of Dec 20, and the answer is it will for sure is one of the most anticipated games in East Asia and Japan, so even if performs like Astral Chain in the West it should sell a lot more (probably more than double) what Astral Chain sold in Japan and East Asia.

Astral Chain felt like it had a lot of hype behind it after that excellent showing in the February 2019 Direct. Doesn't feel like Bayo 3 got that same hype from its first Direct showing.

I think it could maybe get to 1.2 mil if the reviews are absolutely stellar, but it'll be a close one. I don't think the game has as much mass appeal as Astral Chain did (on a side note, I'm still vaguely upset that the Bayo 3 teaser made me think it was Astral Chain 2 for a bit there. I know most people felt the opposite way, but I really want Astral Chain 2 dammit)

It's because of the "pattern" of the first wave of MK8 DLC released the week before the MK8 tournament last time
