What are your guys most anticipated game for 2022?
Up until a few weeks ago it was AI The Somnium Files: Nirvana Initiative. I think now it's either Stray or Mario + Rabbids 2.

Most anticipated overall game though is RE4 Remake. Loving the direction they're taking an already near-perfect video game.

I don't really think a twitter announcement of an e-shop-only kirby game means a whole lot. Maybe evidence a Direct isn't happening like, in the next few weeks, but nothing more than that. And even that I wouldn't be certain, since e-shop games tend to be kind of their own thing IIRC.

Pokemon trailer tomorrow will be enough for me for a bit. I still think we're getting a good Direct early September, if not something before, so we don't have terribly long to wait.

Imma be honest here. I think my Direct hype has settled to the point where I'm okay with waiting for the September Direct again. If they reveal a direct BEFORE then? Awesome! If not? I'm good!

This is such a bop. I forget how/where I came across Cory Wong given I've never listened to Vulfpeck before but listening to this performance live was a genuine delight.

Fall guys plays good on PC but the switch version sucks. Usually I'm ok with switch ports but that one is not very good.
I earnestly agree. I don't mind playing on Switch now and then, but I swear the performance actually hampers how well I can play compared to my PC. I'm hoping the game just needs some distinct optimization but I'm concerned it won't make the necessary gains and could only get bogged down further as updates go on until we get new hardware.

I'm holding to my (completely made up bullshit) theory that the motivation for Mini Directs and Twitter drops is some corporate idea of driving up customer engagement KPIs which include things like Twitter followers and Youtube subscribers.

They specifically mentioned the Mini Direct is an on-demand video dropped at a specific time to get people to subscribe and turn on notifications, and now they are dropping new games on Twitter to get more followers there. A Direct gets more eyes on the single video, but it doesn't build that continuous following the companies crave, at least not in a way that can be measured directly from subscription or follower counts.

E3 could explain it this time if they have a vested interest in making sure E3 comes back next year and the broader gaming community wants it to come back. They are on the board of the ESA, it makes sense to tie "big summer announcements" to the event they co-sponsor.

Interesting theory, it certainly makes more sense than randomly splitting up third and first-party directs weeks apart.

You long back to Kimishima for…?
The hypest Directs. Kimishima would come in pointing guns, taking names and you would know

C'mon Nintendo we already know MK8D DLC is releasing this week where's the damn announcement?
Wouldn't surprise me if we get random Pokemon twitter trailer tomorrow, then random Mario Kart DLC twitter drop Thursday, or something like that

Exactly 2 months from now, on September 12th we will probably get General Direct announcement. Since TGS is on 15th there is not much room for anything. Or announcement on 13th and Direct on 14th.

What are your guys most anticipated game for 2022?

Splatoon 3
God of War Ragnarok
Xenoblade 3

Those are the three that I will drop everything to play on launch day. Metroid Prime Remake would also make the list.

Edit: I forgot about Sparks of Hope! Forgive me Davide Soliani.

Splatoon 3 :) I'm a massive Splatoon fan but 2 is getting incredibly stale
the closer Splatoon is the more inclined I am to agree.
I played the Octo expansion for the first time this year and it was just pure excellence from start to finish.

Now I need my Splatoon fix.

They're exclusively associating their big summer blowout with "E3". They're actively saying "hey, we're not gonna have a big direct and presentation in June if E3 isn't happening, so you better hope E3 is back and Summer Gamesfest doesn't take it's place".

It's basic brand synergy, they're part of the ESA so they benefit from all of the exposure and publicity E3 brings. By associating themselves just with E3 they continue to help benefit E3 and the ESA.
I just don't see how this meaningfully advances the goal of bringing back E3. It's just going to annoy a bunch of people who have no involvement in that decision.

What are your guys most anticipated game for 2022?
Insanely, Sonic Frontiers, probably. Morbidly curious about it.

My actual most anticipated game for 2022 was Pokemon Legends: Arceus but that came out already.

Honestly? Kind of a lame year so far, on the whole.

He actually called Mario Kart 8 DLC as well as a direct in Feb. He also said what games would in the mini direct a couple days in advance. He also said that Splatoon 3 had been pushed out of June.
Everyone called a direct in February and they’re wrong about Splatoon for June. Always was July.

The other stuff is what only should be used as a reference to grudge credibility. But I am curious. What titles in the mini did they get? Some had leaked already

Markomaro is going to be slaughtered tomorrow (since he said that Metroid Prime Remastered news would happen on the 13th).

He said day before the Direct that Splatoon 3 is scheduled for June. It could be, but then day after that, Direct happened and Strikers was dated as June release. So Splatoon would never ever be released in June. And as we know it was 98% planned as a July release with Xeno3 as a September, they just switched spots, this is obvious and no one could say otherwise.

edit: he said two days after that tweet that info could have been inaccurate, but thats funny how he said that after Direct happened and not when that tweet was released. Because he saw that Strikers was dated for June in that Direct

I honestly don't understand what people see in that Treehouse set.

It's... just a stage with three chairs and three tables. The stage is likely just a room on NoA's campus and the set design is as minimalistic as it gets - they didn't put up much of a decoration and they didn't even bother to hide the cables behind the Live a Live banner. The lighting isn't great either.

The presenters are just Treehouse employees and we know that NoA has an internal AV team, so all of the personell and equipment needed was in all likelihood already available. People say it looks expensive, when in fact it looks they simply used their already existing resources to record this.

And for comparison's sake: this was their E3 2021 Treehouse set. If you look at the ceiling, this appears to be the very same room and stage. But with the difference that back then they went through the effort to actually decorate the set with nice flooring, they hid the cables in the back with plants and the furniture doesn't look like they pulled it out of some office (rented?).

I don't understand why people think the Live a Live set was a sign of bigger things to come when it looks so much cheaper than what they did last year.
The work involved in setting these up is in getting Nintendo employees to take time out of their workday from their usual duties to set up/test/operate the audiovisual equipment on top of everything you see in the video. That AV team has other duties aside from annual livestreams and doing a Treehouse means they're not doing their usual work before, during, and after filming these. That's why you don't usually see Treehouse presentations outside of E3, and when you do see them, they do multiple segments at once to get the most use out of their setup because of how much effort it takes to assemble and disassemble.

Splatoon 3 was never scheduled for June so that's impossible to know, and they more than likely piggybacked on others' Direct rumors.

If there's no Bayo news tomorrow, I say we stop posting them here. Stop giving these people smoke.

Actually, it sounds like this one is another stolen rumor (sorta). The e-shop page just got updated.

Not that he is reliable at all, but I don’t think he ever said this. Someone asked about the 13th and a direct he said he didn’t know but they have lots of info yet to reveal

HotGirl69s or whatever always heard the 13th for a direct!

Also, they may miss more than SamusHunter and zippo. But for those who want to believe in fake leaks there ya go
