It's sad how the only attention Bayonetta usually gets is when fanboys fight over the ownership of the IP. If the discussions about the game's content and its sales numbers were as intense and numerous as the constant fights then I would be way happier.

I would like to make sure everyone is aware that I am not changing my vote.

July 11-15 with DLSS Hardware

I'm staying on this train. If July 15 comes and we've heard nothing yet, I won't care. Because July 15 will last until Drake is revealed. My faith shall sustain me, my will shall carry me forward. The Splatoon tournament won't finish, Xenoblade will remain in stasis, Donkey Kong will continue being sat upon, until Drake is revealed and July 15 can finally end. Even the immovable object of TGA will have to bow to the unstoppable force of my hype.

July is not over until I say it is.

#TeamDLSSummer

It’s also still January for you isn’t it ?

I feel like FamiBoards doesn’t care about Bayonetta and it makes me sad

I get so few interactions when I talk about it lol

The IP has such potential, it’s so unique in the industry.

I wanna see Bayo 3 so bad, it’s the last missing piece in the 2022 lineup that needs to be slotted, really surprised I seem to be one of the few that’s anxious to get an update
I’m excited for Bayonetta 3. I replayed Bayonetta 2 late last year and it’s still an amazing spectacle. I am a little worried about the big monster battles, but I definitely want to see more. My hype is largely resting for now, but it’s starting to build as it seems very likely we’ll finally hear more this month.

My hope for this week is becoming Mario Kart today (with a Friday release), Pokemon Wednesday, and Bayonetta 3 Thursday. I guess they could cut into Live A Live week if they have to for any of the above since Japan isn’t publishing it, but I feel that’s unlikely. No way anything else is happening Xenoblade 3 week, that’s their big pillar for the Summer.

I wonder whose alt account Mugiwara is. I bet it's Racoon's. Just wanted to see some action in this thread.
I like to think they just sort of appeared, formed by this thread's dark energy and birthed into the world to spread chaos, like the antichrist. The FamiChrist, if you will.

Now the fake leaker is doing it too!

SMH. We are seeing markomaro's shameful shenanigans in real-time. First they sent the above Pokemon tweet to piggyback on the fresh Pokemon leaks, and an MK8 tweet because of the 7-Eleven photo. Then mere 18 minutes after @NateDrake wrote about a Bayonetta 3 trailer, markomaro pounced:

Note how they smoothly excused their previously failed Bayonetta prediction in the same breath—do you think they had a lot of practice? And just for good measure, they threw in this gem:

They listed out all titles with high probabilities of revealing soon in one omnibus tweet to cover all bases. As if that wasn't enough, either a Direct, a Mini, or tweet drops are all said to be possible. They simply can't lose! (This is a trick commonly used by psychics and fortune tellers called the rainbow ruse.)

We'll get a Twitter direct for those relatively minor announcements.

Are you ready?

If Nintendo had enough 1st party stuff for a June direct, they would have made a June direct. Instead, they decided to go for a Partner Direct which was very well received and that was the right move. A few Twitter drops are the likliest outcome, and always have been.

I don’t think the lack of a 1st party or general Direct has anything to do with "Nintendo not having enough content". They have enough to show off.

I think that whatever they could have shown in a general direct wasn't enough, and they preferred to have an excellent partner direct than a disappointing general direct.
We will see what they announce during summer, and we'll have a clearer picture of what a June general direct could have been.

I would love to be hyped about Bayonetta 3 but idk... Platinums recent output and management style don't give me hope that it could live up to the first 2 games.

Markomaro, the God of Leaks, did it again. Piggybacking and twisting things and tweets. What a chad.

It will be mad to see Bayonetta 3 date and Metroid Prime dropped on Twitter
Bayo 3 release has a decent chance because they could still show the game in the Sept Direct, but no way they announce Prime 1HD (and Retro return) by a Tweet. (Ofc this is Nintendo so you never know but it seems so unexpected)

Bayo 3 getting the Splatoon 3 / Xenoblade Chronicle 3 treatment by having a Trailer + release date announced via Twitter wouldn't even be the only similarity they share.

To play Devil's advocate here...

Considering that partner direct was generally considered very strong and essentially the best one ever, wouldn't that have been the perfect time to piggyback off third parties if they felt their own updates were on the slightly disappointing side? Add 10-15 minutes of lacklustre Nintendo info onto that 26 minute very strong Partner Direct and you've still got at least a good Direct overall.

I'm not of the opinion that a Direct is round the corner either, but similarly I'm not sure that logic totally fits.

You are right, this also makes sense.
I'm just, in general of the opinion that when nintendo doesn't show much, it's because they don't have much. I would be very happy to be proven wrong.

Feeling drop today!

Sorted after likelihood:
1. Booster pass wave 2
2. Something more Splatoon.
3. Pokémon

Sorted after hope:
1. Bayo release date
2. See above

I think that's pretty fair, no? If you have the money to drop on a premium Switch, you most likely don't mind paying another $25 once(assuming you only have to download the upgrades once and be done with the NSO) to get the upgrades, unless you're already paying for that. Now if they somehow lock upgrades behind the expansion pass NSO, the complaint would be more justified imo.

If I already own the game and own the new hardware, there's no reason I should have to pay to have access to the level of performance that game has on that hardware.

I'm not worried about Bayo 3 either. When a PG project doesn't turn up great/gets cancelled, it's pretty clear it's either because they were unfamiliar with the kind of game they were making, or because they were butting heads with the publisher every step of the way.

The Bayo games, MGR, W101 and Astral Chain* are the studio playing to its strength, and they're all great. There's no reason they can't nail another character action game, it's when they branch out of that genre when things get messy.

(*I'm leaving Automata out not because it's not great, but because it's obviously a very different kind of game, with very different design priorities, and it also strikes me as a messier game on a purely technical level than the games listed)

We literally saw Bayonetta less then a year ago and the game looked like development had been progressing smoothly. There isn't much more to discussion until we get another trailer and/or a release date.

I've been thinking lately... that Nintendo is not communicating well with their fans. I'm sorry, but it's just like that. Nintendo doesn't give us anymore content or events to "create or extend the community", and it's sad to me tbh.
For example, Blizzard and Bethesda have their great enthusiastic communities, and apart from their big game announcements, they do their own events focused on the community (Blizzcon and Quakecon). I'm not asking for a "Nintendocon", but at least, doing physical events around the world is necessary. Instead, we're waiting for a Twitter drop, and that's it. Sorry, but even just general Directs are not enough. Interviews with developers, how the games were made, how the music was recorded... those things aren't done anymore. The Nintendo community exists because we, passionate fans, create it, but Nintendo isn't helping us and they don't care.
I needed to express these thoughts.

Arrogant Nintendo sucks

somewhat believable but that Ganon's Rise imao, these fake Zelda subtitles are always so boring

FXaUOQJXgAAl_MB

not to argue semantics, especially over a bullshit 4chan post, but if nintendo had enough banging first party material for a direct of this scale then marketing it as a mini would be the most questionable decision they could make

let's be real, if nintendo had a meaty trailer ready for BOTW2 then there's no way in hell they're dropping it in a mini direct first thing in the morning

Nintendo´s communication this year (besides february) has been awful. If you dont delivered your main event of the year (June Direct) and dont give any reasons of why to your customers/fans, thats bad communication.

From an entirely practical standpoint, it would be kind of nice if this is it for the holiday. Usually we'd know better by now.

All the same, we could get a Twitter announcement of Bayonetta 3's release date at any time.

They really should bring back a Spaceworld type event that fans can go to like what MS and Sony do/did

On the flip side, acting this way is exactly how Nintendo get the internet to stop and listen any time they do announce some kind of presentation.

Other companies can only dream about commanding that kind of attention.
I don't think a twitter drop or a parter mini direct generates more attention than Todd Howard with Xbox showing Starfield, or Sony showing to the world RE4 remake in a great third party State of Play.

Tbh I rather have digital events for now because as much as some folks don't wanna hear it the pandemic is still here and its still deadly.

I don't need conventions and physical events.
