I really hope we get a new entry, I wouldn't turn my nose up at a remake but a new entry would be so good.

While I do want new games over remakes/remasters - as I've missed a couple of the handheld console zeldas I wouldnt mind seeing them remade.

Grezzo has already proved that they can do original games, so I'm not sure why Nintendo is still using them for remakes. Have them do a 2D Zelda.

Low risk, high reward I guess.

Such a shame Ever Oasis bombed..

I cared 5 years ago. Mate are you sitting 24/7 on NoA's twitter account and searching for random ass tweets from the last 10 years lol?
No need for being antagonistic about this

All Grezzo remakes have sold amazing, makes sense they keep giving them new remakes to make
If they were to do a remake I think id prefer Minish Cap over the Oracle games tbh, Oracles is still available on the 3DS, but Minish is harder to get unless you were part of the Ambassador Program.

Grezzo's latest hiring call (in 2021) indicated they're working on an original project and not necessarily anything relating to Zelda. When they've advertised for Zelda in the past, they've indicated as such, usually by using the word 'legendary' in their hiring calls (usually translating to something like "work on a legendary series"). Their latest project is described as original, stylish medieval fantasy; sure, Zelda could be described in that way, but it would be unusual for Grezzo to go out of their way to avoid the direct reference to Zelda after they've been a little more direct when hiring for the series on multiple occassions in the past. It's not necessarily the case that Grezzo would want to move straight from one Zelda remake/project to another; even if that series likely remains a regular feature between them and Nintendo it may well be the case Grezzo want a crack at something else, perhaps of their own making.

As for Nintendo making it internally, I suspect the sales success of Link's Awakening (likely to crack 6 million sold, if it hasn't already), as well as the lengthy development cycles for open-world Zelda, will make Nintendo look for solutions besides continued re-releases and Warriors spin-offs. Maybe that involves co-development arrangements with Grezzo, but I think when it comes to an all-new entry, Nintendo are likely to take charge of any project. Aonuma wanted the 'portable' team within EPD to remain distinct from the open world staff as of 2017, and also wanted them to do something like Breath of the Wild which challenges the conventions of the series. Obviously, whatever Aonuma was thinking of for 2D Zelda has yet to materialise.

Right now I suspect there's a combination of factors at play: EPD's resources are likely fairly strained, though expansion will hopefully mitigate some of this; whatever new ideas bounced around for portable Zelda perhaps haven't quite met the bar that Aonuma wants the team to clear; and perhaps Grezzo themselves want to work on something other than Zelda for a little bit before returning to the series. We just don't have enough information to know for sure. Looking at Grezzo's development history, though, and they do tend to work on multiple projects at a time, despite their small size; so perhaps their 'original' title is cooking alongside further work on Zelda.

The one thing you can say for Nintendo and Zelda is that despite the number of releases on Switch, they still have options when it comes to more titles. Even with 2 re-releases, 2 original titles, 2 Warriors releases, and a new spin-off (at minimum) in a roughly 6-year period, there are plenty of ways they can squeeze more out of the franchise:

1) new 'classic'/'portable'/'2D' title, probably co-developed by EPD and Grezzo
2) Oracle of Ages/Seasons remakes (presumably from Grezzo, reusing assets from the Link's Awakening remakes given the original games had an identical visual style)
3) Wind Waker HD
4) Twilight Princess HD
5) a bunch of other titles that they could remaster/remake (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask HD would be hotly anticipated titles; personally I'd like to see the black sheep, Adventure of Link and Four Swords Adventures, get remade)
6) another Warriors title (perhaps follow up from the original HW game somehow; or adapt a particular period of the series lore to fit the Warriors template; the war between Hylia and Demise, or the war alluded to in Ocarina of Time, for example)
7) brand new spin-offs (Cadence of Hyrule was a surprise; we know that other Nintendo teams have toyed around with Zelda spin-offs, like Retro Studios, even if it seems the idea didn't get far)

No, no A Link Between Worlds can’t be that old, it came out after I graduated college! That wasn’t THAT long ago, right???

Oh…. Oh no….

Yeah I've changed my poll choice to No Event This Month

Though tbh I've had so many other things to think about that I'm not sure I'd be up for a Direct this week anyhow. I mean, it'd be welcome, but:

I'm just not in that much of a mood for hype and such :(

EDIT: It's also just... too fucking hot and it's gonna get hotter. That really doesn't help things at all.

I want Pokémon Warriors so we can get great remixes of classic tunes.
Honestly that’s what I think will be next for Warriors. Pokémon is no stranger to spin-offs, and they could do some really interesting stuff with the mechanics of Pokémon combined with the Warriors combat.

For a moment I read Warriors Crobat and was like, that would be dope.

A Pokémon Warriors game would be dope. I could also see a Warioware Wario's Ware, Xenoblade Warriors and Monster Hunter Warrior's edition.

Warioware where you have silly minigames in the battles, Xenoblade you can talk about huge fights during certain times or make it a fan service game.
No, not that kind of fanservice
and Monster Hunter Warrior's could be an isekai warrior's game where you, the player, can interact with monsters and talk to them. And have to fight like an evil army from Earth trying to take over the Monster Hunter world.

Whoa, Roller Champions seems to be doing pretty well on the e-shop? It's 4th on the best selling free titles (behind Fall Guys, YouTube, and Fortnite). That's pretty impressive for a game with zero marketing.

Capcom letting Koei use not only one of their IPs but their biggest one? 🧐 That is a bigger dream than MH Warriors by itself being a thing
