It’s doubly funny because the Japanese word for “Early” and the Japanese word for “Fast” are the same (hayai)
 
I feel like I should do some Chinese translation for Fami since there are some wrong translations, i.e. the Aunt Emily thing haha. They're just being kind, it's a title of respect. I am called Uncle, for example, from anyone younger than me or anyone who I may be "above" socially (in their eyes, I don't care--just how it is). They also do it for complete strangers as to be polite--i.e. when I see older folks here, I will tell my daughter to call her "grandmother" even though we literally met 5 min ago. Maybe I can be our designated translator if people find something important, I always love to do it.

I'm assuming by too early he doesn't mean a few weeks early, and probably that it's still months away.
But not like I can read his mind and maybe he does mean we're 2-3 weeks away instead of 1.
 
He could intentionally be trolling by actually saying the "2" is coming early but I think that's reaching, he's probably just saying he doesn't expect an announcement soon. But it's hard to say what he means by soon in this case it could just be august or september.
 
You know, if the Drake isn't launching until November they could totally wait until August to reveal it, and I wonder if they could push it until even early September. Switch Lite was announced July 10th for a September 20th launch, that's only a bit less than 2.5 months. So a Mid-November launch for Drake could be announced as late ~September 1st based on that precedent.

I'm not sure I really EXPECT that or anything but it's interesting to think about. It would put the reveal just before the usual September Direct, which I think it's guaranteed to be revealed before if it's launching this year. That would also fit the "2 early" if it's not for several more weeks yet.

Or he could be meaning it's not launching until early 2023 with BOTW2, which I think is also still quite possible. All I know is this is going to be fun for a while either way!

If we were a few weeks away I don't think he would bother posting this. I think September or later is likely.

Well unless it's revealed by earlyish September, it's not coming out in 2022. And if that's the case there's a 0% it's revealed before the holidays, which makes January probably the next most likely time. I just meant that it doesn't necessarily have to be shown in the next week or two, it could be another 1-2 months.

Well I never thought it was coming this year and still don't but of course it can still be announced in September and release later in 2022.

Ah, I get you. September is possible but it'd be REALLY stretching the boundaries of an announcement window, especially if it's late September. I just don't see that happening. I think it's before mid-September or bust for our chances of it coming in 2022.
 
If it were still being released this year, which seems super unlikely to me, I'd argue that the timing of it's announcement has to come before the release of the Splatoon model, not after. Announcing it after Nintendo fans buy a special edition model is just going to make people mad, and cause returns back to retailers from people who want the drake Switch instead.

That said I think the best odds have always been for it to release with BotW2 next year. I think it still gets announced this year though.

It's wild to see this forum tripping over itself when there's so little (nothing?) around indicating an imminent event.

Even Mochizuki's liking Dark Cloud's post ends up telling us absolutely nothing lol. "2 early for [Switch hardware]" has so many interpretations ranging from "hold on for another week" to "the launch isn't in calendar year 2022"

Splatoon deserves to be Nintendo's biggest franchise. Expand the single player aspect and let me team up with friends in Turf War you cowards.

Technically you're right that too soon could mean anything. It could even be just one day too soon.
But most likely too soon means it's not coming this month at least, I don't see why he would even bother posting it if it's coming 2 weeks from now anyway.
