They just put Fox and crew in Starlink. Nintendo will always care about Star was long as Miyamoto is around. Why are people here acting like their not gonna try and make another Star Fox game? It has icons on the Switch so Nintendo clearly still considers it a somewhat viable/key franchise. If Metroid can sell well these days a well-made or at least decent Star Fox is a guarenteed hit.
A direct is for sure happening this week unless disaster strikes and it's virtually guaranteed to be announced 9am ET tomorrow/tomorrow morning ETSo just catching up, sounds like a direct is potentially happening this week?
Nate the Hate Podcast, featuring co-host Lodern Fintage Gamer
Sakurai has spoken of his dislike for sequels except for Smash. But what is the "with Sakurai out based" on? We have no idea what his next project is.
Can you make a 3rd Dark Cloud to beef up the next State of Play?Nate should invite me on his podcast so I can give him the inside scoops.
Ah, that I wasn't aware of.Sakurai has spoken of his dislike for sequels except for Smash.
So I don’t see him ever returning. Reason he went independent
Yeah Sony needs to get a better idea for the state of plays. Nintendo has mastered that format and Sony needs to better work it.Can you make a 3rd Dark Cloud to beef up the next State of Play?
Nate should invite me on his podcast so I can give him the inside scoops.
Lol I think the generic characters, the bah bah would drive me nutsOK
So Miyamoto comes to you and gives you an offer.
“Nintendo will make a new game in the series you love most and, magically, it will be revealed in the upcoming Direct for a release this year. But… you must choose one of these…
1) All music in the game has its beats punctuated by the “bah bah” noises from the NSMB series.
2) All side characters are colour-swapped versions of generic characters”
…which do you choose?
Don't worry, only Microsoft make acquisitions the biggest announcements of their shows. Next Level Games was just a press release! What if the Nintendo Direct is a 50-minute presentation about how they just bought all of the major publishers in Japan?
Color swapped for sure. I loved Origami King despite its overabundance of toads, but if that banger OST was soiled by those godforsaken NSMB SFX, I'd lose itOK

Can't ruin Pikmin music so gotta be 2. But how does one even define side characters in Pikmin?OK

No unique enemies. Just 100 different colours of Bulborbs. All your co-pilots are just the Smash colour swaps for Olimar. Can't ruin Pikmin music so gotta be 2. But how does one even define side characters in Pikmin?
I could live with the captains but GENERICIZING THE MONSTERS IS UNFORGIVABLE, WE HAVE NO DEALNo unique enemies. Just 100 different colours of Bulborbs. All your co-pilots are just the Smash colour swaps for Olimar.
I'd even say it goes beyond that. They just put Fox and crew in Starlink. Nintendo will always care about Star was long as Miyamoto is around.
Jokes aside, they’re probably gonna shadowdrop PAC-MAN Museum+ at the Direct yeah? Really looking forward to that one, and it should be here soon considering the early 2022 release windowThe meaning of this hint here is obvious
Nintendo is buying Namco
See, Pac-man was thought up by Tohru Iwatani when he was looking at a pizza with a slice missing. And Nintendo is going to "make it rain" on Bandai Namco which is euphemism for dumping loads of cash onto something or someone.
Hopefully they’ll figure it out this gen what the foundation of Star Fox should be.I'd even say it goes beyond that.
Like, say what you will, but Fox and pals are both recognizable and, for the most part, actually liked. Again, they only need an actual good game/formula that can be iterated on in order to be put on easy street.
NoAre people actually expecting direct this week?
I may be powerful, but even my power has limits, sadly. Can you make a 3rd Dark Cloud to beef up the next State of Play?
...they have?Psst @NateDrake Nintendo’s been making all of their morning announcements since daylight savings at 8am EST, announcements that any other year would be made at 9am EST, or 10am EST during the other daylight savings time, just a heads up
Fox and DK both, for real.Hopefully they’ll figure it out this gen what the foundation of Star Fox should be.
The only thing posted at a 8 am EST is the Kirby trailer, nothing else that I am aware of, hell the Triangle Strategy trailer, the last big thing they tweeted about was at 9 am. Kirby seems to have been a one off thingPsst @NateDrake Nintendo’s been making all of their morning announcements since daylight savings at 8am EST, announcements that any other year would be made at 9am EST, or 10am EST during the other daylight savings time, just a heads up
Its a sequel. It doesnt need a long marketing cycle like the first game, which also only had a cycle of 9 months even though it was a brand new concept they had to sell.OK. And how exactly should that work if the blowout is at the E3 time slot? If it's a 2022 title it will be arround October or November the latest. So you think that 4.5 to 5 month marketing for a game of this caliber is enough? How exactly should that work I don't understand. That's not luigi's mansion. That's a 35 year old franchise, an evergreen franchise and a franchise which can sell systems with its 3d games. 5 month marketing is a joke for this game. So if you think that the title reveal is in the summer then I can't see this game comming out in 2022. I can't see it. It needs to happen now and the latest in March.
MASTAH CHEEFWhat if they announce Figher's Pass 3 lmao
Direct Opens:
I bah humbug those damn "Bah!"s, so naturally I must go colour swapped versions of generic characters in...*checks notes*Custom Robo?OK
So Miyamoto comes to you and gives you an offer.

Mario Odyssey was fully blown out at E3 2017 and released the following October. Heavy marketing started in September. You’re really overthinking how long a game like Zelda needs to be promoted. Especially the sequel to one of the GOAT games of all time.OK. And how exactly should that work if the blowout is at the E3 time slot? What if its a Nintendo announcement for tomorrow, but its not a direct announcementWhat if Nate's episode is about Nintendo earnings from last week lol
I guess its a matter of waiting and seeing, I see your pointKirby was 8am
Indie world was announced at 8am
Also, several announcements that would’ve been made at 9pm have been made at 8pm such as:
Every NSO update since the daylight savings change
Every overview trailer since the daylight savings change
Whether or not it’s announced at 8am or 9am really doesn’t matter, but I’m guessing it’ll be the former based on this evidence
What if Nintendo announcement the new episode of Nate the HateWhat if its a Nintendo announcement for tomorrow, but its not a direct announcement
It’s tomorrow. It’s clear as a sunny day.Guys I think the hinting is pretty overt, more so than usual, I'd expect it tomorrow, this hinting is on top of the sale thing and the pizza umbrella thing
What if Nate's episode is about Nintendo earnings from last week lol
There’s always phases of the direct hype cycle
Yup all it takes is a slight comment for everyone to shift from depression to mania or vice versa lolThere’s always phases of the direct hype cycle
