When will the next general Direct (full or mini) be?

Not even game specific directs are that short.

It's gonna be the usual 35-45 minutes.

Not sure if you're doing this as a positive, negative, or something in-between, but yeah I'm a YouTuber. I don't hide who I am. I honestly didn't know about this place until I saw Emily mention it in a sales post on twitter. So glad to have found a Nintendo forum community that's not... gaf or era.

I can see a 45 minute presentation, with a 10 minute long Kirby or Splatoon Direct after. Nintendo is no stranger to game focused Directs.

Why are people here acting like their not gonna try and make another Star Fox game? It has icons on the Switch so Nintendo clearly still considers it a somewhat viable/key franchise. If Metroid can sell well these days a well-made or at least decent Star Fox is a guarenteed hit.
 
If the Direct is on Thursday, I have a call that conflicts with the normal Direct time. This is aggravating to me, but I'll deal.

I just want to know when I need to book a week off for Splatoon 3.
 
Any Star Fox game existing heavily lowers the chances of a new Kid Icarus so I'm gonna be rooting against the space furries, sorry in advance.

I don't really see how that's even the case lol. A new KI isn't happening because Sakurai doesn't want to do more, it has nothing to do with Star Fox.

2D Mario is dangerous for Pikmin. MonkEPD is arguably dangerous to 3D Mario. But as far as we can guess Star Fox has nothing to do with Kid Icarus

They don't want two nearly identical gameplay experiences coming out near each other.

Like I said, with Sakurai out, even if Nintendo commissioned a new Kid Icarus, it's going to very likely be a different game from Uprising anyways. It could go back to just being a 2D platformer for all we know.
 
They should make a new Pikmin game but replace Olimar with Mario and the Pikmin with mini toy-like versions of Mario, Mini Marios some would call them.

Was pre occupied for a bit but the hype is back on

But what is the "with Sakurai out based" on? We have no idea what his next project is.

It can't be Thursday this week because of a Japanese holiday, so its going to be Wednesday

Its obviously not a direct announcement he's waiting for. Its going to be an acquisition announcement instead :^)

He seemed pretty fucking done with Kid Icarus to me lol. Doesn't even want to go through the trouble of porting Uprising to Switch, going by recent interviews.

We bring up f zero pretty often and that series is compete decayed compared to star fox. Nintendo fans don’t know how to let go (though Nintendo does resurrect franchises 10 plus years on routinely).

There's a difference between him not wanting to revisit the same game which has some major barriers to even be ported in the first place, and him being done with the IP overall.

After so many god-awful acquisition news and talks, we're going to get a Direct and talk about games for a while. Thank Hylia for that
 
Why Kid Icarus is related to Sakurai? Yeah he directed Uprising but the NES game was directed by Okada (retired) and produced by Yokoi (rip). Sakamoto was the main designer so is more or less in charge of the IP.

IMO, i would like if they give Mercury Stream the opportunity to make a 2D Kid Icarus catching the essence of NES/GB games. They make an excellent job with Metroid. There is like a “cousin” relationship between Metroid and Kid Icarus (like Zelda and Murasame or Mario and Donkey Kong)

honestly yeah, literally anything on switch is gonna sell well if not best in the series

What if the Nintendo Direct is a 50-minute presentation about how they just bought all of the major publishers in Japan?

For the record, I hope that never happens!
