I figured the pizza clue!

We are getting Mario Party Superstars DLC!

Fifty percent of votes are now for Feb 9/10! Exciting!

My birthday is on February 11 so this would be an incredibly hype early gift from Nintendo

Feels unlikely at this point but sure could go for a port of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Would make for a solid eShop release.

The meaning of this hint here is obvious

Nintendo is buying Namco

See, Pac-man was thought up by Tohru Iwatani when he was looking at a pizza with a slice missing. And Nintendo is going to "make it rain" on Bandai Namco which is euphemism for dumping loads of cash onto something or someone.

Feb 9th would be the earliest we’ve had a general Direct in any February and the earliest in the year in the Switch era. I’m so grateful we might not have to wait another week. What have we done to deserve this?

It is more likely than ever now, since I have finally caved and bought the RoB/SotN collection on PS4 back in October.

Breaking: notorious insider Nate Drake confirms next Direct is in the future and not the past.
But maybe the Nate of the present has access to the future Nate’s memories and that’s why now he’s looking forward to it, because he’s trying to encourage the past Nate…

I think Shingeki has melted my brain.

Even Nintendo are in a rush to get to the Direct. Either it's really good, or it's awful, and they're doing the Direct so soon so that we can all move on and forget it.

I think my guesses were a lot more exciting than the true answer.

Might make a pizza tonight now though.

Oomph I'm actually physically in a work building tomorrow so opportunities for excited shit posting might be few and far between. Let's hope the place remains deathly quiet.

Why shouldn’t he?

At least once in the past he's indicated he's not that excited about a Direct. Seeing has he's not indicated one way or another here, I figured I'd ask.

Why should everything be known to him?

Were he to say he wasn't that excited, and was also able to say he knows most of what's in the Direct, I'd probably lower my expectations.

...I didn't really think these were strange questions to ask

If I saw a pizza umbrella and told my friends but they just say you're teasing Nintendo direct aren't you I'd be so mad

My hopes and dreams for the Direct are pretty tame. Boring even. More Kirby. Pac-Man Museum+. Sonic Origins Collection. Mega Man—a new game, a collection, I don’t care, I just miss my blue bombing baby.

That’s about it.

oh boy, I check in here on a whim for the first time in awhile and the hype train is in full swing?? Time for some Dread DLC 😎

A few days he had a poll on his YouTube channel asking what week people thought the direct would be on and this week he called the week of national umbrella day and national pizza day.
Thanks! Still kind of confused if that was just hinting at the week or specific days though 🤔 need to set my expectations for tomorrow

I just want Xenoblade or FE, and I am fully prepared to get neither.

I'd also say I want Silksong but that's just playing with fire

Fami - I have heartbreaking news.

I’ve always thought the Nintendo gods were on my side - I’ve somehow NEVER missed a general direct live. Never been scheduled for work, never had classes. The one time I did have a class at direct time, it even got out early the day of the direct! It’s always worked out that way, where they’ve fallen on times where I could play them on my TV and relax and watch.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t look to be the case this week. My blessing has finally been broken. I have two shifts that would fall when the direct airs - be it Wednesday or Thursday. And none of my coworkers seem in the mood to pick them up.

Of course I’m exaggerating for humor, but it is pretty sad. And I’m not sure how to handle it. There are some aspects of my job where I’d be able to listen to headphones and “watch” that way and sneak glimpses, but it’s new territory of direct watching for me 😬

Wait a minute, aren't you one of those Tubers?
"those tubers"

It's always fascinating to me to see how people group and categorize others like they belong in some circle and nothing else matters. It's not just you - it's just something we as humans seem to do to everyone.

Not sure if you're doing this as a positive, negative, or something in-between, but yeah I'm a YouTuber. I don't hide who I am. I honestly didn't know about this place until I saw Emily mention it in a sales post on twitter. So glad to have found a Nintendo forum community that's not... gaf or era.

Hope I'm welcome. If not, oh well.

Thought I recognized the name. I randomly came across your channel a few months back. Welcome!

I like your videos. :)

I think F-Zero would need to come out swinging if they really wanted it to take off. I think right now it'd probably do 1-2 million, but if they gave it a proper push, it could get up to 3. Maybe crank up the "falcon punch" memes and call it the Dark Souls of racing games. That's an extra million sales right there.

Honestly, if Nintendo were smart, they’d simply port over GX and just update the visuals / performance a bit. If they want to get real crazy, they could add an online battle royal mode. I’d bet that would sell an easy 2M to 3M on Switch and cost a fraction of what a need title would.

i've done it for the last couple directs, its rough having stuff like splatoon 3 or banjo in smash happen and trying so hard not to watch all of it.

I bet the Direct will be your standard 40ish minutes affair. But then Nintendo decide to drop an Extended Edition later on that makes you swap BluRays mid-movie, because tdgaf.
