Surely GCN-NSO isn't viable this generation due to lack of analogue triggers. Yes, separate controllers can be used, but none of the other emulators require them.

Maybe the successor will support some analogue trigger function. What do people think of pressure sensitive triggers? I wasn't keen on a large movement against resistance of GCN analogue triggers and pressure sensitive triggers could feel like simple click buttons for games not using the analogue aspect.
That's why I said it'd come to the second generation of Switch hardware.

Love pressure sensitive triggers, always wanted them back ever since they were axed, but if joycons remain compatible as I expect them to be and they're all functionally outdated when they FINALLY bring back analog triggers, I'mma be pissed.

Truthfully I'd rather just hope that if/when Gamecube NSO is added, they restock the adapters they sold for Smash 4 and SSBU and more wired controllers (or even re-release the Wave Bird 2.0 with a second Z button, full sized C-stick and D-pad, and the necessary requisite buttons for pause/menu/screenshot/home)

If Rogersbase is predicting that Gamecube games along with Smash Bros Melee are coming to NSO, then sorry all, Gamecube games are definitely not coming this year.

I don't know why I am getting ads for women's lingerie whenever I enter this thread. Famiboards is too sexy for me.

I like how Switch Top 30 software in Japan are so commonplace now it's almost non-news anymore.

Nintendo having analog triggers with the Gamecube and the Wii Classic Controller only to unceremoniously dump them for all their later controllers is one of the more baffling things they've done hardware wise, in my opinion.

So with the whole Nintendo in talks with Microsoft stuff from last year. That was basically for rare games on n64 nso and goldeneye?

Or a collaboration between Nintendo/Microsoft and Rare to make a real Banjo Kazooie 3 for both systems.

Yea. I'm sure at some point we will see Gamecube games released. I just don't see it happening for a couple of years at least. Nintendo is probably going to want to release most of the planned games for all of their current apps first and that will take a while. Plus we still have the Gameboy games to launch.

Maybe 2024? IDK

Guess whose roommate just tested positive for the virus? 🙃

I tested negative though, so either I haven't fully caught it yet or that monster cold I had last December was actually COVID and I just had a false negative at the time. Fantastic.

We now know what February's N64 game is. What Genesis/Megadrive games are you all hoping we get in February?

19 games are currently available on Genesis NSO:
  • Altered Beast

  • Contra Hard Corps
  • Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
  • Dynamite Headdy
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Golden Axe
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • MUSHA
  • Phantasy Star IV
  • Ristar
  • Shining Force
  • Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Streets of Rage 2
  • Strider
  • Thunder Force II
  • Toe Jam & Earl

Sega games that have a good chance of an NSO release:

  • Alisia Dragoon
  • Alien Soldier
  • Alien Storm
  • Beyond Oasis
  • Columns
  • Comix Zone
  • Eternal Champions
  • Golden Axe II

Assuming we get another drop of five games?

  • The Revenge of Shinobi
  • Shining Force II
  • Vectorman

Snatcher for Sega CD! Is it likely? No! Do I want it? Yes!

Here is the dream game that will never show up on the Genesis app.

I'm sure there's no chance but the Konami Tiny Toons games on both SNES and Genesis were some of my favorites growing up. Buster's Hidden Treasure is an underrated Genesis gem. ❤️

N64 games on NSO + Xbox 360 Rare ports are my guess. Ports of games like Viva Piñata should not be impossible at all, we already got a VP game on DS. Though I predict Banjo N&B port coming before anything else.

This has incredibly low chances of happening, but I really want to see Michael Jackson's Moonwalker added to Genesis NSO lol.

Say what you will about Konami, but they do love selling collections of older games. (Castlevania, Contra).

Maybe Konami should consider releasing a Ninja Turtles collection (NES/SNES/Genesis/Arcade games).

You’re missing the Ooze

I actually really like Sonic 3D Blast and hope it shows up soon. It's got some of my favorite Sonic music in that game. 🤷‍♂️
SECONDED. I love 3D Blast, I can't believe I forgot it. I keep thinking "we don't need Sonic games on NSO because we have Sonic Origins coming" but 3D Blast won't be a part of it. So NSO is perfect.

And hells yes to the music. People put the Saturn version over the Genesis version because "CD quality sound" but Senoue's work on the Genesis version is superior and I will die on this hill.

My tv about gave me a heart attack, I loaded up the ps5 with every inten to play mass effect legendary edition today and all I got was a black screen, nothing I looked up worked. Then my tv remote wasn’t working right. I tired my Xbox next, same issue. I knew it should be fine as I just played it yesterday. Pulling out the plug of the tv and plugging it back in got it working though. Weird

I thought something happened to my game systems but it was my tv acting weird

Just watched Encanto! Figured that, fuck it, literally nobody would care if I watch this film despite it not being 'for me.' It was great! Visually fucking stunning on my OLED, and a nice light-hearted film to boot.

Maybe I'll actually be able to chill on my break next week if this is any indication :)

Totally agree. Encanto is a gorgeous movie visually.

Also, I hope you have a nice relaxing break!

Can you confirm your time invested for ending 1 - and the estimated additional Time for the second ending? This one is on my short list....

It took me around 9h for the regular ending with all weapons and upgrades and around 3/4 of the collectibles. From what I can tell it should take me another 4-5h to get the secret ending but that's partly because I did something stupid. This isn't a story spoiler but I'm still gonna put it behind spoiler tags:

You can find around 50 life seeds that you can plant in pots that are strewn around the levels. Those pots are basically your only source of health and I thought the life seeds would be sparse so I kept most of them. Turns out you get as many seeds as there are pots and you have to plant all 50 of them for the secret ending.

That Nintendo publisher seems to be doing well on Switch. That's good because they have sold 0 copies on Playstation and Xbox.

So has anyone here played Stories Untold? It's a horror text adventure and it made me more scared and unsettled than any game I've ever played.

And I barely played for 10 minutes.

Congratulations! We Don't Talk About Bruno is now stuck in your head for the next two weeks!

Hot (?) take - Encanto wasn’t very good. I appreciate it’s diversity / inclusiveness, but it was otherwise a super forgettable movie :X

Luca on the other hand <3 We watched that the following night and were just enamored. Such a pleasant surprise that one

Pokemon Legends is at #2 on Amazon's best sellers videogames list behind PSN cards. It was at #3 a few days ago.

I am definitely excited for Arceus, more-so than I was for D/P, which is weird to think considering I've been wanting a D/P remake for many years, but it was just too safe and didn't do anything unique like what HG/SS did (Never played R/S remakes).

Arceus though? I can't wait to dive in.

Legends Arceus looks like the sleeper hit of the year. If they play it right, I can see this Pokémon franchise have another few successful years.
