Disproven by Seinfeld.
He said if it needs a laugh track. Seinfeld doesn't need a laugh track. It has one, but it doesn't need one. The long pauses and discombobulated stares would still be awkwardly great without an audience roaring over them.

Compare that to something like Big Bang Theory where I literally wouldn't know where the "jokes" are without the guided laughter. That show "needs" a laugh track.

Americans after 5 minutes of not starting fights over fast food joints with names like Fartin' Bobs and Cock Barn:

They have nothing on Turbo Chicken(or insert local variety)

OK

So I have an entire week off from work next week. What should I do? Should I:

A) Use the time to get a head-start on preparing for my near-future goals: studying for my Driving Theory Test, organising and tidying my stuff to downsize, and

B) Focus on relaxing and recuperating at the end of a tough Christmas/Holiday season. Finish Horizon Zero Dawn - in anticipation of the sequel - and start Pokemon Legends upon its release. Watch a few movies, and maybe have a day out in a nearby city.

C) A healthy mixture of the above that allows me to be both productive whilst feeling more relaxed overall

OR

D) None of the above lol

It's in your hands! lol it really isn't because D is by far the most likely outcome

so the NES Joy-Con I ordered finally showed up, and I had no idea that (spoilering in case anyone else would like to be surprised too) you can control most of the Switch menu with them attached in handheld mode! The left d-pad acts like a regular d-pad, A and B on the right are A and B, the right d-pad is the home button, the left buttons are screenshot, and the start and select buttons on either are + and -. I was absolutely delighted by it lol

Far out the N64's great.

I mean yeah, it hasn't aged the most gracefully, and its library is relatively small, but what it lacked in quantity, it made up for in sheer earth-shattering quality. No other system I've ever owned had so many mind-blowing and transformative experiences. Playing it back in the 90s was like being blasted into the future.

Still not getting NSO expansion pass though; the N64 I got in primary school still works just fine and I prefer to play on real hardware where possible. Just feels more authentic and nostalgic.

But holy guacamole, what a console, what a lineup, what a legacy.

Me, coming home from work after literally deciding last minute to grab a Firehouse sub for dinner and then catching up on this thread:

I live in a country where we don't have this Firehouse Subs thing so I decided to check out the menu. Guess I know what to try next time I visit some friend overseas!

I suppose I misinterpreted their hot take. Generally I agree, though. The laugh tracks pull me out of the show quicker than even the worst script ever could.

This year's FE is KT -- it's the same team that did Three Houses. The remake of Holy War for next year is IntSys.

Thanks. We have a lot to say on that.
Nate sorry to bother you and you don’t have to answer me of course. But are you confident about FE releasing this year as you were with Metroid Dread last year?

Maybe it's a generational thing (don't know how old most people here are who are talking about this) but basically every single comedy show I can think of had a laugh track growing up, so they don't bother me at all. Actually now that I think about it, I've seen very few comedies that DON'T have a laugh track. Maybe Arrested Development? Which, granted, is one of the funniest shows ever made.

I love that Square never bothered to change this giant green triangle prompt on Kingdom Hearts on other platforms lol

It doesn't happen only on Switch, but on Xbox too

I got Paper Mario: The Origami King and Yakuza: Like a Dragon for Christmas a year ago. They have yet to come out of their plastic wrap.
