Does anyone else's dog lick them incessantly on the arm or leg for like 10-15 minutes unless you aggressively shoo him away?

Or is my dog just very, very weird?

One of our cats does this and she has very dog-like behaviour so your dog sounds very normal to me.

Rather than feeling old or like you haven't done enough with your life, think of all the best times you've had over the last 10 years.

If you're here, you likely enjoy gaming, right? Think of all the games you enjoyed over the last decade, across any platform. Just on Nintendo the last 10 years have brought us BOTW, Mario Odyssey + 3D World, the arrival and rise of Splatoon as a new IP, Bayonetta 2, Tropical Freeze, Smash Ultimate, Metroid Dread, and many, many more.

Think of all the times you've spent with people you love, with family and friends, or just spending time on forums within an online community. Think of every great movie or show you've seen, all the time you spent enjoying your interests and passions, every positive new experience, even every time you overcame a challenge or struggle and emerged stronger for it.

Life's not a job, or a competition.

Maybe you have sweaty arms? The salt is what dogs like I think.

My dog does that stuff too. He's weird though. He constantly interupts my digital work meetings to bring my co-workers on screen his toys lmao.

Our cat often carries around plushies and sings to them, sometimes she drops them into our robot vacuum's path so they get stuck and I have to pay attention to her.

My dog does this with his ball. Sometimes he forces it into places he can't reach it so that I have to help him.

He is also a huge fan of plushies and teddies and mostly carries one with him from place to place around the house.

That's what I used to think but he'd still do it right after I shower.

I'd think it's his way of showing affection if he wasn't so aggressive about it and nippy when I start pushing him away.

My best guess is he just likes the taste of human flesh.

Well said. Tangentially related but it reminded me of something that Reggie said way back at E3 2014 that really resonated with me and I’ve thought about often in the nearly 8 years since, so much so that I have it saved in the notes app on my phone:

“Whenever I’m over in Japan and lucky enough to see these new games, I’m reminded of the first video game I fell in love with: Super Mario World on my Super NES. I played it endlessly, finished with 99 lives, and I still have that cartridge. I bet you remember the first game you fell in love with too. Those of us who play games know that there’s nothing quite like them in the world. And those of us who love Nintendo know that no matter what’s going on in our lives, we can always count on these games to deliver fun and great gameplay, because it’s Nintendo.”

You all been posting in Raccoon's fan fiction thread but will you be posting in the Raccoon fan fiction thread?
Absolutely.

My fan theory is Raccoon is actually really a raccoon and him pretending to be a raccoon but casually acknowledging he's really human is just a smoke screen.

My cats are psychopaths. One yowls insanely loud whenever it has a toy mouse in its mouth and the other drowns them. Real evil stuff. They are cute and snuggly most of the time though, so I forget they probably are evil deep down inside.

There is this google chrome ad on YouTube that starts with a drum beat that sounds exactly like the intro to DKC. It gets me to not hit skip add right away when streaming random game music channels, but then I get disappointed it wasn’t the song. Anyone else come across this one?

Just wait until Microsoft buys "Directs" and then Nintendo will be left with no way to hype up their products.

It's actually Nintendo's fault that Microsoft bought Activision. When Nintendo bought Next Level Games, Microsoft thought "Damn, that Luigi's Mansion 3 game was damn good and now the devs are locked up with Nintendo forever. Howe are we going to completed?". Luckily for Microsoft, a scandal-ridden scumbag was looking to dump off his toxic company for a big chunk of cash.

Curious to see what they announce as next months N64 NSO game tomorrow, wonder if Japan is getting Custom Robo V1, feels like that should be soon

This is seriously what I've been working on with my anxiety. I have a bad problem with worrying that I haven't done enough, am not doing enough, must do more/better, worried that life will collapse if I don't find the "right" thing to do, or that I won't enjoy life if I can't find the intersection between what I "need" to do and what I "enjoy" doing.

And then I think back to my younger years and go "man... that guy really was content to just play video games and watch movies, huh?" And then I start worrying that I've cheated myself out of a ton of time because I've been fighting to "do" rather than just "be." It's like a ping-pong match, back and forth.

And the thing that's calming me these days is just to remind myself: BotW2 is coming. Xenoblade 3 is coming. Sonic Frontiers is coming. A new retro Nissan Z is coming. Idris Elba is Knuckles. Steven Spielberg just made a musical.
What a great time to be specifically me.
