Something about the first panel of the MyNintendo 2022 Desk Calendar upsets me. Mario beams with unbridled delight as he forever averts his gaze from meeting me. Surrounding him is a calendar, the painful reminder of my time in this life continually slipping away. While I come closer to death in every moment, Mario will outlive me. Mario is no doubt taunting me in this image, and yet he seems slightly uncomfortable as well. He is unrepentant, but he does not have the gall to look me in the eye. It's as though he knows my fate and pities me. Perhaps he envies me somewhat, too. He is silent, betraying his mirth. He is trapped forever at the top of a jump, and while that may be a moment of jubilation, perhaps it is hollow. Again, I can never truly know.

Maybe I'll switch to the opposite side of the card.

Like others have said, time and time again, mentioning Samushunter definitely does not contribute to any engagement in the conversations that take place here. Like, if some of y'all dislike her so much, why do you look at her tweets?? (Unless they just show up in your feed which happened to me last week lmao, in which case you MUTE HER)

I already talked about this in another thread but even though I’m bad at fighting games and lack the patience to get better, I really want another ARMS game. The premise, lore, and character designs are too good to be relegated to one game. A substantial single-player experience that really leans into the lore and implements cool new mechanics (like what Splatoon does) could really make for a great sequel. And who knows? Maybe ARMS 2 keeps me engaged in a way that the first one didn’t (at least until I inevitably burn myself out).

Bit of a rant here, but as great as Nier Replicant is gameplay wise, Yoko Taro doesn't respect the players time at all. Playing through the same half of the game, skipping dialogue, mashing buttons and foregoing combat just to see a few extra minutes of story content is ridiculous.

I thought the game was immaculate in the my first playthrough, but each subsequent playthrough for each ending, including the nonsense that is attaining all the weapons has brought the quality of the game down. Don't care if he was "Trolling" or not, he actively made the game worse by implementing these endings the way that he did.

Still a great game to play through once (Maybe twice) and watch the rest on Youtube.

I looked it up and it doesn't seem to be reported anywhere else. China closing all ports would be major news. The guy in his own Twitter thread says that some ports are open. He said to check South China Morning Post and the major headline on the website is about China-Japan relations over a jet, not anything about China closing down.

I don't want to sound too critical but I think we should be more mindful about about the news we post. It's one thing to post random tweets about stupid videogames but it's another to be sourcing tweets for major global events that will have ramifications on peoples lives. For something like this, the standards should be much higher. Most people will only see the main tweet and not even read that the guy contradicts himself in his own thread replies.
 
Bought Darksiders II on sale, it's downloading and I'll try it tomorrow

Apparently the series have some Zelda inspirations, with dungeons with puzzles, but with a more hack-n-slashy action-rpg flavor. Looking forward to it

I've been playing Halo, and it's rare I adore a multiplayer game this much... which made me want to return to Splatoon 2.

Here's how it went.

Launches Game
Checks hours played, how is it only 35?!
Checks release date, this game is almost 5 years old?
Damn, this still looks so good. I have to play it more.
Salmon run is up, my fave mode, and with a new equipment piece I don't have!
Joins match, team is wonderful, we kick ass
Completes match – ah I love this game

My buddy @bellydrum recommended this as the place to be, and I'm excited to get to introduce myself and get to know everyone.
I'm a veteran and prior combat medic that has been out of the gaming scene for a while but I'm looking to come back full force and make some friends along the way!
