Woke up and just saw the mess of a certain bounty hunter. I think what really made me laugh was that she ended the tweet by saying here's the latest information: a second demo of Triangle Strategy is coming late January/Early February lol.

Team Asano games ALWAYS has 2 demos since the Switch era.

That's a pretty good pick and, depending on how you look at it, the most deserving. It's the best example of taking a flawed gem and turning it into a genuinely great game. There's so many games I wish could get the same treatment.

In the world of most baffling platform decisions for video games... The king is absolutely no Psychonauts on any Nintendo platform. It's even more baffling that the GameCube version got cancelled and Tim Schafer didn't know why.

Yeah I really think they put a lot of care into this one and raised the bar of what to expect from a remaster/rerelease so that’s why I’m pushing for it.

I think if it gets nominated Mario 3D World will win off Bowser’s Fury, which I think should be viewed separately, but even then the strength of adding online to that game makes it very competitive even if I’m not a fan of the changes to the speed especially (feels sloppy since the game wasn’t designed for it).

Honestly I feel like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a shoe-in for the next major Direct. Originally targetting a late 2021 release date, delayed into 2022; maybe it's not releasing until the very end of the year, but the other Xenoblade releases on Switch had 8 to 10 months from reveal to release, I think, so a February reveal can easily happen even if XBC3 is right at the tail end of 2022. If we get lucky, it'll be coming sooner.

Dragon Quest III Remake getting a global release this year would be absolutely grand, but I'll be thrilled even if we 'only' get Triangle Strategy.

Yeah, I find discussions like this a bit tough because I don't really know which criteria to apply. Do you judge it on its merits as a game or how good of a remaster it is? A combination of both? As a product being sold I prefer 3D World + Bowser's Fury but Nier is at least imo the better remaster.
 
Well, I'm mostly over covid at this point, and was feeling well enough to actually play and beat a video game!

Decided to play Tangle Tower, a beautifully designed and animated mystery game that I bought a few months back but hadn't played... for no adequate reason. It's actually the third game in a trilogy, but the other two games are mobile games and a bit primitive in style compared to this one. It endd up being a very short game, only about 3-4 hours, but it's filled with tons of intrigue and charm. The character design if fantastic, the mystery is strange and compelling, and the atmosphere and music give me chills at time. If you like mysteries and have an afternoon to burn, I reccomend it!

Okami is currently on offer for like £7.99 on the eShop. Haven't played it before but I heard that it's apparently the best game similar to Zelda in terms of adventure and dungeons?

Look at some combat footage before you buy it, it can make or break the game for people. But if you're into OoT-style Zelda games, there's a good chance you're going to enjoy it.

So yeah FEH is uhhhh not for me. Maybe if I was more familiar with the stories or characters but as it is I don't feel it's worth delving into all of the many many mechanics and modes, none of which are tutorialized well.

Because we'll never know, let's invent a wildly untrue story to run with and act as if it's real. Here's my candidate:

Phil Spencer was 100% into the idea of bringing Halo to Switch because he's a giant Smash fan, and his hope was that Master Chief having a game on Switch would boost his chances of being added to Smash Ultimate. When Doug Bowser told him that the final Smash character was Sora and not Master Chief, Phil Spencer went into a wild, blind rage and pulled all funding for Nintendo based products.

I mean here's my genuine take: Maybe trying to port a Halo game to Switch was proving entirely unsuccessful, so one of two things happened: MS decided to wait for more powerful hardware from Nintendo, or more likely IMO, they're going to leverage their cloud gaming tech to bring Halo to the platform in a cloud streaming way. I've actually thought about this a bit, and while I don't think there will ever be a simple "Xbox Cloud Gaming" app on Switch, I don't think it's entirely out of the question for MS to create individual streaming apps for each first party Xbox game (and maybe even third party games?) they want to bring to Switch that you can buy for $60 OR you can sign into your Xbox account (w/ Game Pass Ultimate) and play without paying anything extra. This way they can't eat into Nintendo's digital sales numbers by not offering games Nintendo is selling, while still leveraging that audience to boost their Game Pass subscriber numbers. Win win all around, tbh.

But the "no Chief in Smash" story is more fun.

Actually they should do the Puyo Puyo Tetris thing and record the voice actors for the main characters saying "SEHHHHHH GUHHHHH" and randomize which character says it every time you boot the game.

I can't imagine trying to get into FEH today, I've been playing since 2017 so I've seen it grow but it must be extremely overwhelming to start it now... If anything, I'd recommend taking it slowly since there's a loooot to take in. Good thing is that new players can get a ton of very good heroes quite easily.

Yeah one problem is actually that I have way too many heroes and don't know anything about their skills or abilities or what to even do with more than 4 of them.

Uninstall it while you can. I'm still stuck playing this game for some reason. That game is honestly a mistake lol.

The sound with the eye opening? I find it super pleasing to the ear, a nice breathy M7 chord

Gotta say both sounds are really nice in terms of choral density takes off musician hat

Normally I would complain about the lack of controller colors, but they can't even keep the grey in stock. That might play into whether or not they will ever make N64 controllers with different colors.
