Anyone else playing a heck ton more games and having less gamer existential crises since coming here? Probably has to do with the more laid back atmosphere and the monthly challenges.

Me! It's magical. Playing more games instead of looking at the smallest thing to hate a game for.

Not my food entry since I’ll keep the other one, but I’m having fun posting my creations. I’ll probably make this a routine thing. Home made honey mustard chicken salad. Easy dressing (1 part Dijon, apple cider vinegar, EVOO to 3/4 part honey, then S/P to taste). Candied the pecans with some bourbon barrel maple syrup and cinnamon. Could be veg easily (not sure what a good vegan honey sub is. Probably agave due to consistency).

Ugh, the combination of understimulation from lack of Nintendo news in ages (I know it might sound strange to care so much about this, but it's one of my autistic special interests) and overwhelming anxiety from the Omicron wave sweeping through my friends and family, I feel just awful.

For the latter, all I can do is try to support my loved ones as best I can and hope they get their boosters in time.

For the former, the news drought is just making things worse by giving me no positive distractions from the terrors of reality.
Is there a chance we could at least get a release date for Kirby soon? Just having a concrete date for something positive in the future to look forward to would mean so much right now. :(

actually, there's a high chance! Nintendo seems to like to have one game with a hard release date before financial briefings, so we're likely to get a date for Kirby before early February

We might get a Kirby date soon, it's possible. And typically, gaming news picks up around the second week of January, so we're nearly to that point. I hope we get some stuff soon!

What's that, a high chance of a single game getting a release date before the month ends, with a pretty filled-out release schedule in Q1 and only tradition backing up that chance? This can only mean one thing

January Direct confirmed

I think Kirby is a good candidate to receive an overview trailer this month. I could see it.
Aren't overview trailers typically pretty close to release? Like, same month at least

And while Kirby's not unlikely for Q1 it definitely ain't releasing this month

Yeah I think that Arceus is far more likely, probably previews or something next week for that. If we get a random Kirby date it'd be very late in the month, IMO

Nahh they do those like up to two months in advance. I think Snap got one quite early as well. Maybe misremembering, though.

Last year Bowser's Fury was shown in one more than a month to go as well.

Dread got one or two along the way

some mario party boards would be real nice

western land would be cool on account of how trainpilled I am

More Mario Party boards would probably make me pick up the game, the current count is meager for a 60 dollar retail title.

All of those are under a month from release, though admittedly I didn't expect them to be even that far out. Snap is 15 days, the other two are basically exactly a month minus a day or two.

And I don't think Kirby's a February release either, considering that would be a very generous "Spring 2022".

I'll take the L.

Still can see a Twitter drop with a release date, though.

y'all I'm just trying to live my life and my friend sent me this stupid song this morning and it's all I can think of and I think it might be the fuckin number one jam of 2022

please listen to this

warning: very strong language

This is the best thing I've seen all day, thank you

Me when Monolith Soft is absent during the next Nintendo Direct

It's a shame we can't rely on Soraya Saga tweeting anymore to clue us in, I remember the September 2019 Direct that announced XCDE and having a pretty good idea there was going to be something Monolith in it because of her

And then afterwards, she mentioned that she can't do that anymore.

Was too much of a "Hint" XD

Another night another Psychonauts world complete. Damn, the sequel might become my favorite 3D Platformer of all time if it keeps up with this. As a long-time point+click fan, it's the perfect combo. The game has unbelievable pacing, keeps it moving, and is a joy to focus on completion for too. I've been taking a pretty serious sweep to get all collectables on the obvious main path, but look forward to jumping back into each level to send the game off at the end.

Too bad the Xbox version has no achievements for it!

It was Halo and when the tease happened there was 100% backing to such a project being shopped around and planned. Considering the silence, odds favor the project being shelved for any number of reasons.

That's disappointing if it got cancelled :(

The last question, have you heard anything about the next 3D Mario?

I need to get back to playing it. I played the first hour of it (*the first one) and was loving my time with it! The platforming didn't seem like the most complex or anything, but the atmosphere, humor, writing, and visual design was just out of this world. Art style kind of reminds me of the SpongeBob SquarePants 6th generation games in some ways weirdly enough, lol.

halo on switch didn't make sense anyway, after ori 2 it was clear what MS's policy is about putting games on other platforms.

I don't think it needs said, but I am beyond excited for kirby
same, beyond excited. i expect the game to be really special. my only worry is length, i don't want a 5 hour campaign like star allies.

I would have loved having Halo, especially Halo 3, on Switch. Would have been so cool. Maybe on the next console all the stars will weirdly align.

The Fami GOTY thread just changed over from best level to best remaster/rerelease for those interested.

I nominated Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139…
