Personally, I do think it's still in development because of the theme park. One thing that I feel that some people may not understand is that by having a Universal Donkey Kong Country theme park, you pretty much have to make that series relevant with the characters and theming. If there ends up not being any DKC games going forward for example, the visitors will either go to the park and be confused on why there hasn't been a new game in over a decade or more, or the people will not care about the theme park due to it being based on a "dead" series and will not go there. If one of these things will happen, the DKC section would just be closed down and probably replaced by Hyrule Land or something to that nature.
Down with Disney adults! Up with DK adults! Let’s have annual pilgrimages to Donkey Kong Land! Let’s stay until the staff kicks us out for rambling about Kremling lore or why the Rare buyout was worse than the burning of the Library of Alexandria! Let’s recreate that picture of the fans holding lightsabers at Galaxy’s Edge, but with DK bongos!

Yeaah but if Metroid Prime 4 needs more time to cook then it should be a Switch 2 exclusive.
Nintendo doesn't really support old consoles once the new one is out.

Imagine being a huge Metroid fan waiting 6 years for the game and not being able to play Metroid Prime 4 because Switch 2's are sold out everywhere.

Imagine being Nintendo and deciding to sell perhaps their most costly game ever to an install base of a few million vs an install base of 140+ million.

It’s cooked long enough. We don’t want it to get burnt. Time to serve that meal to 140 million people.

while it was sometimes a downer, the Direct thread that covered the entire middle of the year because of the Partner Showcase in June 2022, we did like what? 700+ pages? Shit was awesome

That is not how theme parks work. They don't ever have to make a Donkey Kong game, again, and the theme park will still be relevant and an attraction.

oh dang, you're a cartoonist???

Might I suggest 👇

I'm so glad I rejoined the thread. I dunno what I missed during the Pyoro leaks but the postgame has been wild

It's not gonna happen, the game was announced for switch: It will release on Switch. Whether it's cross-gen or gets a patch/new version later for new hardware is another story.

Also if Prime 4 is Nintendo's most costly game ever then something is deeply wrong, it should never be the case even if it got rebooted at some point.

oh my god imagine this

original MrBones's ban is duration pending. there's a chance it isn't permanent. so the original MrBones account gets unbanned, and if one of them stops he'll get caught. so MrBones/Mr.Bones has to keep up both accounts forever. gradually the original MrBones gets more and more flanderized as he struggles to keep the characters separate, eventually resorting to just posting GAMECUBE GOOD and STICKER STAR BAD every day

(with apologies to new Mr.Bones if this is actually a coincidence)

I noticed Pyoro hasn’t elaborated on F-Zero or Mario vs DK. With Mario Wonder he had multiple posts and giving clues to characters, the elephant transformation. Maybe he decided to keep that a surprise for people when they watch

This isn't how theme park design works at all. You don't go into Magic Kingdom and wonder why there hasn't been a new Winnie the Pooh movie or a Pirates of the Caribbean movie in a while. You just ride the ride because you know the characters or you just want to go on something fun. Donkey Kong is an iconic character. I doubt they're going to replace it on a whim because of no games.

I’m pretty sure Pyoro was implying that we are getting both F-Zero GX and 99, since he retweeted Sylux who backed up the former. Nate also has been adamant about GX for a while now.
I really hope you're right. Be a nice way to try to revive the series.

You do know ET has been at Universal Studios since the beginning and has had nothing new for it in like forever?

It was also the first time he was leaking so we didn’t keep any attention to his post. Now he’s got eyes on him. Probably less incentive to post

To be fair, that's literally just because Steven Spielberg will literally go nuclear and cut all ties with Universal if they can it (as they already have in Hollywood and Japan).

Something I want to point out about Pyoro is that if he really does have the ability to see what all of Nintendo's private videos are (aka Direct game highlights)

That tweet had heavy overtones of sarcasm. He/she/they were basically saying that, since this Direct will be livestreamed, the idea of him/her/them viewing pre-uploaded videos is ridiculous.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a similar situation to Emily, where there is a clear direct relationship to a Nintendo marketing employee, and permission to tease/leak information to assist with marketing via social media/internet.

That's not true

On the day of the direct, before it aired, Pyoro tweeted dancing pikachu (detective Pikachu 2), everybody 1-2 pikmin (pikmin 1&2 remasters), and snake saluting (mgs collection port).
Those were ALSO three games that were leaked by Pyoro, IN ADDITION to Wonder and RPG. How was your comment negating mine?

I actually think Waterworld makes for a better point in this thread

The actual movie was a pretty big high profile bomb in its era, and yet its stunt show at Universal Studios has become an endearing classic, that's been ported over to their Japan, Singapore and Beijing parks years after the film itself faded away from public memory.
