Sabi... now that's a name that I haven't heard in a long long time... long time.

If I recall right, that was... QUITE the drama-fueled end for Sabi. Like, someone typed up a WHOLE document detailing it or something. They didn't just go POOF and disappear if I remember right, let's just say that.
I remember Sabi.

Leaked a bunch of stuff wrong. But would change their fake leaks to match what actually happen and no one noticed or cared to much to noticed. Took credit for stuff they got wrong.

Just another fake leaker of that era.

Xeno series rankings:

Xenogears > Future Redeemed => Xenoblade X => Xenoblade 1 > Xenoblade 3 > Xenosaga 3 > Torna > Xenoblade 2 > Xenosaga 1 > Xenosaga 2

Actually really curious, maybe this Direct will say something... will Mario RPG remake have NEW elements? Like, new areas or whatever, maybe a new Sephiroth secret boss... actually speaking of which, how are they gonna do Culex? In the Japanese version, the whole joke of Culex was that he was a traditional 2D sprite and not the semi-3D thing like the rest of the cast, is that gonna stick around or are we gonna see a big ol' 3D Culex?

I can not wait to play Mario RPG for the billionth time, I played the original and the Wii Virtual Console version a billion times, I LOVE that game!

So, ... anybody else kinda on Team Maybe MvDK Will Be Worth Getting Excited About?

Like, they know the Lemmings-clones angle was getting stale and that's why they stopped making them. And NST's last project was fairly ambitious, doing a lot of the heavy lifting on Bowser's Fury.

I'm not saying it's gonna be some AAA GOTY contender or anything, but my gut feeling is they wouldn't wait 7 years just to make another Tipping Stars. If they're bringing back the Mario vs Donkey Kong brand, I think there's a good chance it's because they want to (re)establish a line of games where they can have Mario, DK, and Pauline all be more front-and-center together in a post-Odyssey/post-movie world.

Or maybe this is just cope and it's really just gonna be Tipping Stars 2.
i'm hyped for more mario vs donkey kong. i played all the games at the series. i was even happy they added pauline in a newer mario game since the OG donkey kong game was made for the arcades

My hope for the Culex fight is they either make him look like an HD-2D game, or they give him with the most detailed, FF16-ass model they possibly can manage.

It'd also be pretty funny if they replace him with FF7R Sephiroth though.

Future Redeemed>Xenoblade 3>Xenoblade 1+FC>Torna>Xenoblade 2. All of them great games nonetheless. Never played X, nor Gears or Saga.

I love the enthusiasm here :) What I’d most recommend is making use of the hyperlink feature so you can have a shorter list that is easy to read like your first version, but still points people to the sources. It’s the two circles connected together between “I” for italics and the picture feature. You can take the text you have already and link in the sources you want.

So for F-Zero 99 for example you could do something like, to borrow your old bullet point:

Ah thanks! Thats really helpful! I've edited the post using this format, i still tried to make it as complete as possible so onlookers have all the context they need.

I PERSONALLY want the full model for Culex.

I dunno, maybe Sephiroth is hanging out at the Grate Guy Casino as an ALL-NEW optional boss, or at the end of an all-new area. Maybe you actually SEE the Star Road this time but now, just as you put all the Star Pieces back in there, he chops them all to pieces again and you fight him with some Shimomura Mario remix of One Winged Angel or something... that sounds really cool, I should stop before I hype myself for something that won't happen hehehe.

Yeah it just takes Nintendo lawyers to contact Twitter to retrieve his email and send him a formal Cease & Desist unless Nintendo likes the conversation and speculation around the leaks..
But I was told Twitter was the new home for free speech! You mean to tell me… that’s not true?!

I'm with you on this. I posted similar thoughts on this in the DK thread:
Consider the following:
  • The last game came out in 2016 for Wii U/3DS, a time when Mario games were very by-the-numbers
  • The touch-focused Mini gameplay won't be easy to pull off on Switch: it's less ergonomic than a Gamepad/3DS and moving a cursor using the D-Pad or gyro controls in docked mode sounds uncomfortable
  • Switch-era Mario spinoffs saw increases in scope and presentation (even things like Golf and Tennis), and another "mission pack sequel" title for a dormant series isn't going to fly today, even if it's low-budget
  • Switch-era Mario spinoffs also pander to older fans in some way (e.g., Odyssey's return to sandbox style gameplay); a return to DK94's format, or something similar to it, is very possible
  • Thanks to the movie, Miyamoto wants Mario and DK to be less "separate"
  • Also thanks to the movie, more eyes are on DK in general (and his rivalry with Mario was a major highlight of the film)

A new Mario vs. DK game could actually be pretty rad if they played their cards right.

and this talk of "we'll never ever get a new DKC because of one silly puzzle game" is getting really over-the-top, ngl

Nintendo heard you all saying you wanted a new mainline Donkey Kong game

You all should have chosen your words more wisely and asked for spinoff like Country or a 3D platformer.

I just can’t wrap my head around what the DS/Wii remakes are and their connection. It can’t be Mario as that honestly just doesn’t make any sense at this point in time. Best I can figure is maybe Metroid Prime: Hunters & Metroid Prime 2/3? Then they’d have the entire Prime series (sans pinball) available on Switch ahead of Prime 4’s eventual release.

I THINK (?) we came to the conclusion that the Wii/DS remakes were Trace Memory/Another Code remakes based on Pyoro's likes, though who really knows for sure.

We already saw some new battle mechanic, plus the website did tease “more new changes to be announced soon”. Its definitely possible that we get a new area or something like that, maybe even a hyper realistic Sephiroth fight

Ohhh I didn’t catch that. Haven’t went back to read all the pages since I was here last yesterday. Well that would make more sense.

Hyper realistic? Oh no...

I immediately imagine Mario bleeding when he gets slashed, but Geno doesn't because he's an action figure/wooden puppet so he just sprays wood chips or something. Sephiroth impales him, but he's just a toy, so he Geno Beams his face even while dangling on the end of his sword or something, hehehehe. His prize is a Barrent Gun for his Geno arms or something.

You said 7 minutes that’s why I asked because it was less than 5. I think people are talking about when Nintendo used to do like 10 minute segments on games in the past
I meant that Nintendo still highlights specific upcoming releases. Maybe not 10 minutes anymore, but still

if the Mario Vs DK game is more akin to 94 and GBA, and not, say, March of the Mini's, then that's excellent.

Can't imagine those MOTM-style games sold very well so I sorta doubt it'd go that way. also Switch's touch screen is not people's first way to play. So it'll at least be platformer-lite.

If DK fans can’t get what they want, F-Zero fans can’t get what they want, what makes you think Mario vs DK fans will get what they want?

I’m joking around btw

Pyoro has already said the game involves Minis.

But it can still be good with Mini lemming mechanic. Perhaps they'll return to 3D gameplay they introduced with Minis on the Move.

Sabi was an abusive, lowly douchebag. Just the worst of the worst. I remember that guy would ask me questions about unannounced projects like Tony Hawk like we were having a casual conversation then as soon as I told him anything, he would blurt it out on Twitter, pretending he knew people at Activision. Then, when I talked about what I knew later on, he said "oh! Liam has heard this too!" trying to act like I wasn't his only source. Total clout vampire behaviour.

technically the GBA game was the first one to have minis!
