Because nintendo likely uploads the direct videos a whole week in advance under private, then sets the premier date once they announce a couple of days in advance, meaning anyone with access to the private videos could easily watch the videos before they premier.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance. What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Mario and Donkey Kong for Nintendo Switch nor will they purchase any ofNintendo's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Nintendo has alienated an entire market with this move. Nintendo, publicly apologize and cancel Mario & DK for Switch or you can kiss your business goodbye.

One thing I wanted to point out is that he has also been claiming since 2021 that a Full remake of Paper Mario 64 has been in the works since the 3DS days but was moved to the Switch, put on hold for Origami King and should be out by the end of 2023

But yeah, he's probably bullshitting.

Nintendo is actually playing both sides of the war, and it’s going to be Metroid Vs. Donkey Kong this time. Samus and DK fight each other, and eventually have to team up against King K. Raid, the final boss of a new volcanic area, Development Hell

On the plus side, I was able to use this long train ride I'm on to play some more TotK, and I got up to Purah telling me to smack Ganondorf in the face
 
Potentially getting Rhythm Heaven and Fever and Rift of the Necrodancer all in the same year is exciting in my book.
