I've been waffling between "FE4 Remake is definitely getting revealed next week" and "FE4 Remake is definitely NOT getting revealed next week" over the past few days.

Guess we'll find out when the Direct airs.
At this point it or the Peach Showtime game will start the direct off. Nothing rumored will start the direct off from Pyoro.

FE4 definitely strikes me as the type of game that could release between the Switch 2 reveal and release. I'm leaning towards it being a no show, myself.

Guessing the DS/Wii remakes is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky with some content from the Wiiware stuff.

Remember like half a year ago when some copyright or whatever leaked and everybody assumed a new Mystery Dungeon was getting announced on Pokemon Day?

why are people talking about wave race

It's historically a launch game for a new console. Wait until the 2024 direct ya folks who probably just want T-Square-esque music
Hey now

I want T-Square music and:

In a parallel universe, this thread is full of people speculating on what day the direct announcement will be, discussing Switch 2 rumors/release timing, and hyping possible but completely speculative game announcements.

Instead, we’ve got a thread essentially dedicated to riding the leaker roller coaster and associated drama.

Sad state of affairs.

There's like a 1% chance of it happening but a remake of Fire Emblem New Mystery of the Emblem would be so funny. It'll make all the FE haters angry, make the FE4 remake wanters angry AND make the fans who hate the OCs introduced in the game angry.

But would it make the weebs angry?

I assume pyoro has said nothing about prime 4
Good thing is he doesn’t know everything. He didn’t know the Peach game or Luigi’s Mansion from the last direct. If he doesn’t tease Metroid I’ll still believe it has a high chance of showing up.

So no F-Zero GX rerelease then?
I’d argue it’s different for F-Zero because F-Zero is a classic Nintendo franchise many people want to see return, Nintendo has shown interest in, and has proved that it can sell well. Lots of the franchises people are saying will get remade have not sold well, nintendo has shown little interest in them, and they aren’t all that popular. So I feel like Nintendo might be able to swallow their pride with GX

Looking forward to a new generation of Kris rants

Well, in that case they need to have talks with ex-Cing employees who owns the franchise. but without them Nintendo alone won't do the remakes.

Nintendo didn't even release the Cing games on Wii U DS and Wii Virtual Consoles, as Cing got bankrupt before Wii U was out. Hotel Dusk, Last Window, Another Code 1&R were absent from the Wii U VC. So were the games of other dead studios: Chibi Robo Wii and DS games, Custom Robo GBA and DS games. This was not the case with ALIVE studios: Reginleiv by Sandlot and Pandora's Tower by Ganbarion were on the platform and they also were co-owned.
Nintendo hasn't even ported some of their own games they own 100% to various vcs over the years. The lack of ports does not indicate a lack of ability to do so.

Curious what your reasoning is for the time of day given that with a few exceptions it’s been in the late afternoon in the states
It’s off of the creator of a Japanese game called Nada? (Seriously I still don’t know what this game is called or is lol) saying he had a game announcement on the 14th. Apparently his games are announced in Directs and it’ll have to be morning in America to still be the 14th in Japan.

I wish I didn’t see people posting that the DS/Wii hint could be Trace Memory/Another Code, because now I’m just going to be disappointed when it’s inevitably something else instead.

DS and Wii game…

Both connected…

This could mean 2 separate games in the same series are getting remakes/remasters or 1 game that had DS/Wii connectivity is getting the same treatment, minus the connectivity obviously.

That would also end up avoiding the fate that Fire Emblem Echoes suffered (being released after the Switch came out did it no favors, even if it was announced before the Switch launched).

Switch 2 being backwards compatible would also help with that.

What's funny is that if Mario vs. DK is true, it's probably going to be announced during a Nintendo Switch headlines segment. Literally just some narrator talking about it for 1 minute. If not for leaks, people would probably would have found it to be a neat announcement, innocuous at worst. But because some leaker tricked them into thinking that would be a brand new Donkey Kong game, many are going to think it's the most offensive thing ever and compare it to a Metroid Prime Federation Force situation.

F-Zero wasn't a particularly strong seller either, especially GX. I don't think shared ownership is that big a barrier in the first place.

Lmao yeah Pyoro definitely set it up to be hated on alot more now. Some people still would’ve said where’s the real DK game, but now it’ll be worse

I remember hearing about that. I looked into it, but this is the only thing I could find. Was it this: https://www.gematsu.com/2023/09/scapegoat-website-teases-new-game-announcement-for-september-14

If so, the announcement is scheduled for September 14 at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET / September 15 at 11:00 JST, which wouldn’t line up with any usual Direct times.

I don't think it will go down quite as bad imo

we were just starving in general at the time Fed Force was announced

Real talk though, we gonna bring back Primal Rage? Please, if Nintendo wants to be a hero and bring back Primal Rage... that'd be neat.

Of the 5 games, 3 of them sold over a million, and the original sold 3.3 million
Small corrections: there's six games, and the original sold 2.85 million.

Granted...F-Zero's sixth (and final) game never was published outside of Japan, so in a way you're right.

Princess Peach looks like a good candidate for a segment in the middle of the Direct.

I think Fire Emblem 4 remake opening and Metroid Prime 4 closing is still in the cards.

The original didn't sell 3,3 million, Nintendo's numbers put it at 2,85m. But also, if they were looking at what the series sold 30+ years ago we'd already have a new game today. The point was, if shared ownership was such a barrier for Nintendo then F-Zero's paltry potential returns wouldn't be enough to convince them otherwise.
