And here I thought Nintendo wouldn't pull a Federation Force on DK fans after all these years..

Why being so naive, right? It's just one of their biggest franchises, literally the face that put them on the map back in the 80's. It's okay.. a small eShop game that lasts 2 hours is enough.

I don't care how many people are pretending to be leakers since exactly 0 people leaked that the Pikmin 4 will be announced. That's all that matters.

Yes, but at least we have Totk and some great indie games (Blasphemous 2, Sea of Stars) on a Nintendo console.
 
I guess the new peach game is gonna be called princess peaches showtime, huh. Also will probably have a Japanese theme in the enemies and stages. I still wonder what the gameplay is though. If it really is like classic Paper Mario that would be amazing
 
A Mario Vs DK changes nothing about the larger rumored DK since it’d likely be a different developer attached so eh. The pieces we have from Pyoro so far just upped Metroid’s chances significantly which is personally the game I’m most interested in. For my own predictions, until Switch 2 H1 rumors entered the picture, I thought we’d get two out of three from Peach, DK, and Prime. Seems big DK does have to wait to next year after all which is a huge bummer for more hardcore DK fans.

And if we hear nothing about Metroid 4 now, surely this must be a new BOTW situation where a game started development for a console (Wii U) and then the priority shifted to developing the game for the next console instead. I could still see Metroid 4 coming to Switch but i think its getting clearer and clearer that the prioritized version of Metroid Prime 4 will be on Switch 2 just like the prioritized version of BOTW was on Switch instead of the Wii U.
 
Mario vs. Donkey Kong would have been a neat Direct announcement out of nowhere but teasing it like that probably now has loads of blowback.

Mario vs Donkey Kong are great games, just like the New series of Mario platformers. Nintendo pumped out too many in a short period of time, that's a fair criticism. Acting like the entire series is dog shit is the worst kind of internet revisionist history.
 
I should have seen this coming, I got my dream game, literal most wanted game of all time last direct in Mario RPG, so now something bad is gonna happen to my 2nd biggest request. The process has revealed its truth to me, I have been balanced

The reality is that Donkey Kong needs a caretaker to be able to get consistent releases. Rare > Paon > Retro, then Retro fumbled the ball and the Vicarious Visions project failed so he’s dead.

I played the original to completion last year and it’s just so quaint, on top of not really accomplishing the same sense of speed as X and GX. Personally I’m not a fan of the first title.
 
I always wanted a multiplayer DK based on the original arcade machines, a small game, played competitively with all the different Marios/Jumpmen able to sabotage other player's progress. All the while, the titular ape would hammer down with the usual barrels and maybe a few other surprises (Bob-ombs perhaps). When Switch was rumored to be a plug-and-play type device, it was at the top of my list for wants.

Mario Vs DK I could get behind..... It may not be the DK everyone would be clamouring for, but it's been a while since we've seen an entry.

This may not be the Direct we want, but it's probably the Direct we deserve 🤣

Mario Vs DK is definitely a last year of a console project and I’m here for it, save the next big DK for Switch 2 year one. I’m still mostly hoping FZero GX HD exists

I’m hoping we see what that remastered game Bandai Namco are working on for Nintendo is.

Ehhhhhh. I never said they were bad, just that in Nintendos massive catalogue of series its considered one of the worst. I genuinely think the first 2 games were great, and a return to that style would satisfy me
 
The original F-Zero is goated. Its just not as goated as X.

F-Zero is in the weird spot where almost every game released in the series is at least above average, if not great.

Turns out Nintendo totally decided to go full on "melodramatic third person shooter" with the series and it goes like, really hard. Like, the big part of the game is just over the shoulder shooting of the coconut gun, automatic fire, Donkey Kong is just yelling a bunch and Diddy is by the door trying to get DK to come through as he's firing off his peanut popguns but DK can't let it go. The Kremlings keep on coming, shooting semi-automatic Klaptrap rifles or something. Come on... BEST. DK GAME. EVER!

I am even sure that the original Takahashi voice saying "Pikmin 1, Pikmin 2" is slightly muted in the US version.

So people who were watching UK/JP stream knew 0.5 second earlier that Pikmin 1+2 HD is coming.
 
The only way I’ll accept a Mario vs Donkey Kong game is if it’s an actual crossover with elements from both series. Donkey Kong fighting Koopa Troopas and crap while Mario goes against Kremlings. But that ship sailed about twenty years ago already.
 
I would be surprised if F-Zero was F-Zero 99 and only that. I imagine you could have both the remaster and the 99. I have never played a 99 game and that won't change at all with this but always wanted to give F-Zero GX a try so hope that is getting a remaster/remake.

Now I won't get excited if Pyoro mentions something about Metroid, it'll probably end up being Federation Force HD.
