Right now I kinda think it's all or nothing with Prime. Either the next direct has a trailer and release window for 4 while 2&3 are "available later today" a la Pikmin 1+2, or we keep waiting.

Choosing to be an optimist, so I voted that all three will be there.

The poll has me so happy

Prime 2 is such a weird game to me in that it’s not discussed or acknowledged nearly as much as Nintendo’s other GOAT-caliber games but it’s up there with them imo.

So it makes me feel like I’m in on the secret of how good this underrated, end-of-flop-console-life sequel in a niche series is lol.

It’s gonna feel weird when it actually gets time in the spotlight and people are talking about it on a wide scale, but very very deserved :) hoping for some newfound appreciation, retrospectives and analyses about why it holds up so well.

Quick question, though don’t take this as being signal probing for anything Smash related on the horizon:

When was the last time the Smash props were on public display? They naturally were present at E3 2018, but unless there was a Nintendo Live event in Japan with them, I don’t seem to recall them being displayed in public since…

Goddammit, I missed another chance to see the Monado in person 😩

Hey Nate - curious about what you think about Wonder? Excited or incredibly excited for it based off yesterdays direct.

Looks great. Looking forward to experiencing a creative 2D Mario after the sterile run that was 'New'.

Out of curiosity Nate, is the Smash chatter just from amiibo restock speculation, or is there actual chatter behind the scenes people are hearing?
I have heard nothing & any chatter I've heard has always been paired with the amiibo stock situation. Not to say the claims have no merit, but I have no knowledge of any such update incoming. Given the way it has been framed by those who claim to know... I question if it is even worth the teasing, if there is any truth to the claims.

We have a new poll! Do you #trusttheprocess? It's time to let Fami know where you stand!
This poll is a thing of beauty, Ghost! 😭 ❤️ I'm definitely trusting the process for Metroid Prime 2 and 4! I'd say 3 is a possibility as well, but I feel like if it's featured in this Direct, it'll release as part of a package deal alongside 2, and neither one will be on-par with MPR (which would bum me out). I want all three games to hit the same high bar, in terms of remaster efforts.
This took me no time to think about
😡 🖕

I have to commend this poll, it's the hardest one to vote in. I think something Prime related will be there, but I also don't trust the process whatsoever, or any of the hack frauds that spout it.

We're on the same team! Heck yeah!

I think they'll count up to 4 essentially so we won't see 3 this month, but in March.

I've come to terms with Metroid Prime since the last direct, I think there's a very real possibility that we see Metroid Prime 2 + 3, similar to Pikmin 1 + 2, alongside a Metroid Prime 4 trailer with either "Early 2024" or a specific February date.

But I don't think it's likely at all, and we won't see Metroid anything until the first direct of 2024.

All these people already knowing when the Direct is can mean only one thing - it's going to be BIG!

or it contains an Ubisoft game

They need to do 2/3 hd the do a " but we have 1 final thing to show you" then lead with a teaser for prime 4 it will be perfect
Yeah, I'm thinking either they show 2 and then do a one more thing, or show both 2 and 3 remaster and show a one more thing. If they do just 2 for now, they might mention an upcoming remaster of 3?

Mmm... I've been looking into this, and most of the time, their show floors have statues or people in mascot suits that relate to new software, so they can push what's new to casuals/parents/press/whoever are at these events.
E3 2012: Nothing (I don't know why they brought nothing, but they brought nothing. Maybe they thought the Nintendo Land decore was enough?)
E3 2013: Mario 3D World Statue/Photo-op, Donkey Kong Statue (Tropical Freeze), Pikmin 3 Statue, Wind Waker Statue (Wind Waker HD)
E3 2014: Mario Smash Statue (Sm4sh) [I refused to believe this is the only one, but like there's just nothing else at their booth.]
E3 2015: Star Fox Puppets? (Star Fox Zero) [I also can't find anything else they had; it was really hard for them those 2 years huh]
E3 2016: A bunch of BOTW Statues (BOTW)
E3 2017: A bunch of Mario Odyssey Statues (Mario Odyssey)
E3 2018: A bunch of Smash Statues (SSBU), Pikachu and Eevee Statues, and Mascot Suits (Pokemon Lets Go)
Nintendo Live 2018: Splatoon 2 Statues (Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion), Mario Tennis Mascot Suits (Aces), Isabelle Mascot Suit (AC 2019 Reveal)
E3 2019: Luigi's Mansion 3 Statues, Pokemon Sword/Sheild Statues, Links Awakening Statues (Links Awakening Remake)
Nintendo Live 2019: Splatoon 2 Statues (Splatoon 2 Live Concert), Animal Crossing Mascot Suits (New Horizons)
Nintendo Live 2022: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mascot Suits, TOTK Link Statue (TOTK)
Nintendo Live 2023: Mario Wonder Statues, Pikmin 4 Statues, TOTK Link Statue (TOTK), Pikachu/Scarlet and Violet Mascot Suits (S/V DLC), Kirby Mascot Suit (Specific Forgotten Land promotion???), Splatoon 3 Statue (Splatoon 3 DLC/New Season), Smash Statues [???] (They haven't put them anywhere since 2018)
(I didn't count Mario/Mario Photo ops since those are always at their shows.)
(I could be missing a couple; it was very hard to find footage of all of their show floors.)

Kirby and Smash stick out to me the most this year. They didn't go all out with Smash at any other tourney/show floor beyond when Ultimate launched. They also didn't go all out with Kirby at Nintendo Live last year... despite that being when the game was launched, so they held off for some reason to do this marketing push. I see little reason for them to go all out for both of them unless they were getting new stuff in the near future.
If it were both Forgotten Land and RTDLDX, then I would get it, but they're JUST focusing on Forgotten Land this year. It's weird.

This all could very well mean absolutely nothing though, but like with the Amiibo, I see an interesting pattern here that could or could not mean something. We'll just have to wait and see.

I voted MP2. I honestly don't think we'll see MP4 in this Direct, but I hope I'm wrong.

Before I vote, I need to know if the jpeg of Sylux is a new render or not.

I kind of want it to just be one of his renders from Hunters.

I'm only voting for nothing happening because I gotta cope hope that Prime 2 and 3 get full remasters like 1. Prime 2 is my favorite and I'll die a little bit inside if I just see Prime 2+3 HD pop up.

Yes.

Whatever is sillier. In my heart, I imagined largely the same render as Hunters on perhaps a new background lol.

Really tough poll. MP2 is one of my favorite games ever so I'd be elated to have it on Switch soon.

Dang, that's really cool. Always neat to see the forgotten ones get some appreciation.

Sylux or Vaati: Which 2000s Nintendo villain do old ass Nintendo fans want to see return the most?
I'll take the big demon eyeball Wind Wizard over Sylux any day in the scenario the absence of Sylux has no bearing on Prime 4 coming out lol.

Real talk though, Sylux being largely a blank slate means they are primed to be reimagined into whatever they want to do with them which is comforting.

If Nintendo does a headline for Prime 2 then it’s over for Metroid Prime 4 showing up. If we get to the end of the direct with no Metroid I’ll be pretty anxious

And why is that? As we seen in even the last direct Nintendo isn't above 10-30 second gameplay teasers without much info

Even with the original version of Prime 4, Nintendo said they're not going to show it until they have something that will WOW people, and I suspect that's even more true now that we're on V2 of the game. Nate even said Nintendo was EMBARRASSED that they had to restart the game. You don't go completely silent on a game for nearly 5 years now just to show a teaser. I agree with Nate when he said when they show it, it's going to be a meaty trailer with a hard release date. They're not going to show it until they're 100% sure they're gonna hit the date. Now, I certainly think it's possible that it won't happen until next year, but it just makes no sense to do a teaser at this point.

I'm constantly going back-and-forth on how likely it is that Nintendo will give us the other two numbered entries before 4 drops. On one hand, if you told me before Pikmin 4 released that Nintendo would give us the GameCube entries mere weeks ahead of launch, I wouldn't believe you and would have spoken of "oversaturation" and such. And Pikmin 4 is most likely the best-selling entry in the series by a good margin by this point. So Nintendo giving us Echoes now and potentially Corruption in February sounds plausible in that light. But on the other hand... yeah, I'm still worried about Nintendo potentially overloading people on Metroid. Plus, I also want the games to get as polished a treatment as Prime 1 got, and would that be the case if we got them right now? So I just voted that Metroid Prime 4 will be there, because I'm super (metroid) confident about it showing up in the Direct with a 2024 release date. Anything Metroid other than that will be a pleasant surprise.

If nothing else I would hazard a guess it confirms it will be in the first half of Sept. I don't see Nate teasing stuff three+ weeks out.
