Kind of funny that Switch which has had a bit of a problem to get the AAA support from third parties over the years will have 2 of the absolute biggest third party games in it's 7th year. Both from the same publisher.

Also, I had missed that Biomutant was actually confirmed for Switch now. It's only been like rumored for 3 years hah.

Forget the wizard game, forget the gory fighting game, WB needs to bring LOTR: BFME II to the Switch.
That was an EA game and veery detailed RTS. I can't imagine that would control good at all on Switch. I remember controls being pretty awkward on 360.

But if you really want a LotR game on Switch, "Shadow of" series are much more possible. All you have to do is annoy Feral on twitter, the Switch supportive studio that ported them to Mac.

Well that's odd. I went into my Switch's top played games and for some reason Xenoblade 2's play time has dropped significantly in the rankings despite the fact only Animal Crossing should be higher in play time. Now Xenoblade 3 is higher now despite it not being that close.

It’s alright. Works a little better as a follow up to P3 imo. The Switch version has both Arena game stories in it too.
Nice, I really need to start the 3 I already have tho(P3P, P5R and P5S)well and get 4

I think Doctor Who has only really had one cancelation and one or two revivals, depending on whether or not you count the 1996 movie as a revival
Truthfully I am counting the movie as a revival, but otherwise...

You have Futurama's original run from 1999-2003, the four movies from 2007-2009, the first revival from 2010-2013, and now Futurama: Revengeance in 2023 onwards. So, there it is. Four comebacks is the number to beat!

Maybe My Little Pony? Though if they count it as "generations" I have no idea if those even count as revivals or if they're just one continuous toy commercial spanning the 1980s to now (wikipedia says they're on the fifth generation now, but even that's a continuation of Friendship is Magic)

Sick in the literal sense to me. Graphics are getting way too good for that much gore. Just watching the trailer made me queasy.

Yea, as I'm getting older I'm finding myself less interested in that edgy stuff. I guess it just isn't for me anymore.

Other than those two ones, Doctor Who also had two revival attempts in animated form. Because they eventually went nowhere, they are simply considered special episodes nowadays:

Death Comes to Time, a Seventh Doctor story that ignored the events of the 1996 movie and the Eighth Doctor (blasphemy!) and was supposed to spearhead a spin-off starring the Minister of Chance, a Time Lord created for this story played by Stephen Fry.

Scream of the Shalka, starring Richard E. Grant as a potential Ninth Doctor. This story (as well as its incarnation of the Doctor) was made non-canon as soon as New Who was announced because Russell T. Davies absolutely hated Richard E. Grant's performance, claiming that he just took the money and phoned it in.

"Publisher SNEG brings back the original Chasm: The Rift to Switch today. Experience the original boomer shooter with full HD support on current gen consoles and controls adapted for modern gamepads on all platform, including gyro aiming on Nintendo’s hardware. Quality of life features added to the game include improved character control, crosshair customization and difficulty scaling to mention a few."

Instantly bought when I saw that. Never finished the original game but replayed the demo countless of times. Who would have thought I'd get to finish it 26 long years after I first tried...

Interesting that it's another shadowdrop, from the same people dropped Blade of Darkness.

The switch clock is odd. I was looking at my profile and it says that I have over 70 Hours in CS3 but in in-game time I have 67 hours. Do waiting on menus/title screen count?
The Switch clock counts from the moment the game is loaded to the moment you close it, as far as I know. Not counting time spent suspending the game and going into the Switch menu or putting it to sleep.

I have some games that I only popped in and started in order to make sure they worked, then other games I popped in and watched the load/title screen for a minute or two and they jumped ahead of the others in the "Time Played" section. Even though I hadn't "played" yet.

Konami suing Cygames over Uma Musume system patent infringement was something I didn't expect. Obviously Cygames is gonna fight over this but unfortunately history isn't on their side when talking about patent infringement (Nintedo with COLOPL, Capcopm with Koei Tecmo)

Has any show been cancelled and revived as many times as this?
I was gonna say Initial D because:
  • seasons 1, 2, and "3" were basically back-to-back
  • "season 3" ended up being a movie (which made it feel like a big finale)
  • then a gap of three years before surprise season 4
  • also season 4 ended with a weird text card that said something like "Takumi just keeps driving on..." which sounded to me like a cop-out way of cutting the series short (Gainax did something really similar at the abrupt end of Kare Kano)
  • then six damn years before season 5
  • plus network changes between seasons and such
But I think in hindsight it was probably just a really tough show to produce with all the CGI car action and my brain simply perceived the gaps as cancellations and the new seasons as out-of-left-field revivals.

Dunno. 😅

Not Nintendo related but Disney is taking a bunch of stuff off D+ next Wednesday and the biggest removal is the Willow TV series. Not going to have enough time to binge watch before then but I'll try.

That just barely came out a few months ago iirc and they own it…streaming services can be the absolute worst…

Pondering tonight if sad dads would be less sad if they played more Nintendo games

Seriously WTF

Do these companies not understand "long tail" at all?

What did they do to SMW?
The are several differences that make the experience unique, imo;

  • Like all the other Advance titles, for one, Luigi has his own physics;
  • The Dragon Coins now works more like Star Coins in the NSMB games, you can even keep track of what level you collected them all and such;
  • Some enemies Yoshi couldn't use a projectile before now are more useful, not just Koopa shells;
  • IIRC, you can find different colored Yoshis in spots where they weren't before, even prior unlocking them in the Star Road;

and many other little things that I'm problably forgetting; but to me, it's worth a playthrough with Luigi alone;

It really is! I think they did a good job with the dates for RF5.
Like, on the second date with Lucy, she goes "if you let me be in charge of this date, I'm going to make you spoil me" so I have my character say "fine with me!" so we head to the store and she walks up to a display of hats/ribbons and says "I want everything here" and I go "alright!" (because my character has tons of cash from all the farming, so sure, why not buy everything) which shocks Lucy and eventually leads to this dialogue...

I read elsewhere that supposedly the red coins are harder to tell if they're red coins or regular coins making it more difficult to complete. No idea if there is anything else wrong with it.
There’s still the magnifying glass item that makes it way more obvious which ones are red
