I feel this. I somehow missed the Fire Emblem Engage one and it bothers me so much… The last time I missed a theme it was the Miitopia one, and that took, like, two years before I could get it… ._.
 
I have not been able to play any games in anticipation for Tears of the Kingdom. I lost interest in all games. Have not felt that way since the original Breath of the Wild.
 
Fire Emblem Engage has been Fire Emblem Completed. That's the big one I wanted to clear before Future Redeemed. I haven't completed the Fell Xenologue DLC though. I'm thinking I'll save that for the summer when I need a fresh kick of Fire Emblem goodness.

Yeah. Unfortunately, Collinsworth spent 20 minutes yakking about Tom Brady and insisting that some nobody Bokoblin was the game's X Factor, and then Tirico said something so boring I fell asleep. I think Buck and Aikman's trailer analysis will be a bit more interesting, even though Aikman will spend the whole bit reminding everyone how cool ALTTP was in its heyday.

My Switch is currently en route to Vancouver for repair. I got the Scarlet/Violet OLED for Christmas, and on two occasions, its screen has turned bright orange by itself when left unattended. It'll do this during the night or in its travel case, doesn't matter when. When I finally get my hands on the system, I'll find a bright orange screen, it will be unresponsive to any buttons, the battery will be drained, and most concerningly, the system will get incredibly warm.

I called Nintendo Support about the issue and they were pretty concerned about the fact that the system heats up when unattended. They said "Nintendo is concerned" to hear about the issue and actually arranged a callback in which a Support supervisor called me a few days later.

I may be Switchum, but I am currently Switch-less. I've really missed my console, and I was looking forward to trying Advance Wars at launch, but I guess it'll have to wait.

Oh yeah, and if my Switch isn't back by TotK launch day, we will have a serious problem. That's worst-case scenario since this is the most hyped I've ever been for a game... not playing on launch day would be devastating.

Update on this situation:

I had the idea to set my old OLED (which I have yet to sell since getting the SV special edition) as my secondary console. I’ve tried a few things out and it looks like I can access all my save data from my regular Switch! This means that when TotK comes out, assuming I don’t have my primary Switch back yet, I can just play on the secondary OLED… and then backup the data to go back onto my primary Switch once it returns!

Looks like I WILL be playing TotK on launch day!! Woop woop

Picked up Metroid Prime Remastered right after finishing BOTW and I'm having a blast, I think I'm halfway there if my memory doesn't fail me.

I've been playing some Gal/Grim Guardians today and it's... aggressively fine? Thankfully there doesn't seem to be much in the way of GalGun nonsense in it and it's been pretty tame (I was bracing myself for more of that).

But the game itself just isn't hooking me much. Part of this is my own fault, as I was under the impression that it was a metroidvania, and it's really not. It's a classicvania just designed for you to go back to older levels to find secrets and such, but it's still level-based, and I tend not to like that style of game nearly as much. But the main issue is just that the game is fairly boring and doesn't feel great to play at times. It reuses the same tiresome "giant spider chandelier chase" segment in the first few levels, it is decent visually but doesn't really stand out all that much, and the characters just feel a bit off sometimes. The short-range fighter is much more powerful but her weapon reach feels VERY short and I often find myself missing an enemy who's just in front of me by a few pixels, and then getting hit as a result. And the movement feels a bit slow and clunky all around. It seems like they wanted to make the girls compliment each others' weaknesses so that you constantly switch between them, but I think they missed a bit in the play feel. Also subweapon points are a bit stingy and cost too much, IMO.

I'll probably keep at it and finish it, but overall, not a game I'm loving and it didn't scratch the itch I was hoping it would.
 
Anyone know what's going on with Amazon's Takeshi's Castle reboot? It was mean't to come out on the 21st worldwide and they still haven't put it up.
 
I've been so caught up in the Tears of the Kingdom hype that I forgot that Guardians 3 comes out in less than two weeks. Please be good please be good please be good.

It looks like I won’t be able to play much TotK at launch. We are getting our first puppy around then and I am focused on training her and making sure she has the best life possible to start. I’ll still be able to play games, but it’s going to be fragmented time with work and stuff. It’s ok. I’ve wanted a dog since I moved out of my parent’s house. Zelda will be waiting for me and I have Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp for small play sessions.

Had a very bizarre but funny glitch in Tales of Symphonia. Raine was talking but Collette's voice came out and it was different from what the sub titles were saying, and Collette wasn't even in the room.
 
Also I didn't know Flicky for the Genesis had a half naked woman in one of the windows when you get a certain score. She was only wearing panties and a bra. Really do not remember this at all.

Lol. I also loved how he was saying he “paid” for certain people’s check marks. Obviously that was an attempt to not get in hot water for bestowing it on popular accounts. Whole thing is just asinine. Would think that having verified famous people would draw more eyes in promoted adds than making people pay $7 a month but I don’t have the balance sheets.
 
Pyra and Mythra amiibo sold out on Nintendo AU store and JB Hi-Fi :( I underestimated how quick they would go since getting Byleth and Sephiroth wasn't terrible.
 
I keep deleting my Pikmin save and starting a new game to optimize my run. On the plus side, I've gotten REALLY good at getting the earlier Parts. Like, I've been able to get 3 Parts in one day in two separate levels.

I wonder how many people are buying this for their kids not knowing the content. We may well be recreating the exact disappointment that children felt in 1993!
 
Started Pokémon Legends Arceus last night just to go through the tutorials now that I'm almost done with Metroid Prime Remastered.

It is such a pretty game!
