It might be that, but someone mentioned a few days ago that that's also something called the "Royal Road progression" that's very very common in Japanese music. So he's either rickrolling us or is enough of a weeb to write the song around a common Japanese chord progression as a reference to Nintendo's home country.

But he's probably rickrolling us.

It's a weird state of affairs when Pixel Masters is treated by S-E NA like the physical version of Lost Sphear...

That said, given the number of releases on Switch they haven't officially released in NA in a physical manner if they just figure people will import the Asia version anyways. Which amusingly becomes S-E EU's problem since that's usually where those are sourced from initially.

He is actually rather smart musically so he could be doing both.
 
YouTube suddenly stopped showing the category tags "Recently uploaded, Recommended, Watch again," etc and it's driving me out of my mind. If I log out and use the app as a guest, they're back. Log back in, they're gone. It's so stupid and it's been happening for days and it's such a tiny thing but it was organization and it's happening on both my Switch app and by Xbox app and only when I'm signed in and it makes no sense and uuuggghhhhhhh 🙃

Back from Japan.

It was a very, uh, bumpy journey.

But to share what I feel is relevant for this thread, I want to talk a bit about Universal Studios Japan, which I said that I would go to. I didn’t get into Super Nintendo World, unfortunately. I mean, I half expected not to, since I wouldn’t arrive at USJ until about 12PM and had more of a mindset of “if I get in, I get in”, but they had 1 free time at around 19:00 which was 40 minutes, which was very agonising since it made me super ambivalent and thinking if it would be worth it to try to stress about finding a place to spend the night in Osaka for just 40 minutes in Super Nintendo World. (The way it works is that you have to buy a ticket to USJ and then book an individual time slot when you’re there, and that was the last time I found listed in the app)

It was nevertheless quite deflating, since I still dreamed of sharing my experience here along with others who’ve been to Super Nintendo World. But I have to say that despite that, USJ was cooler than I expected because it’s obviously not only Super Nintendo World that stands as the only Nintendo-related thing there. There are cool Mario cafés and cakes, super neat merchandise shops that makes you want to grab your wallet really, really tight, and out of nowhere came a Mario Kart parade, which was apparently a thing, and really awesome to see.

I just set up the Switch on my new LG 65 inch C2 OLED! (Non-humble brag sorry)

Mario Kart looks great, but the system menu looks really blurry. Does it output in 720p or something?

Actually, I’m playing through God of War: Ragnarok, have yet to watch John Wick 4 and the Mario movie, a couple of backlogged manga and Netflix series to chew through, and a few socialization commitments. I think I’m good!

I hope it's a remake of the N64 game. That Ubi RPG's were nice and all, I'll love some action-y stuff instead.

THQ has 26 announced ongoing projects and I predict almost all of them will be on Switch/successor eventually. Next up, should be that Gothic trilogy remasters, then Destroy All Humans 2/Biomutant downports.

I got Sonic Advance 3 for dirt cheap a few weeks ago and I kind of hate it. It feels like the worst things of 2D sonic combined (dumb roadblocks, annoying bossfights, downhill stage design). I don't remember Sonic Advance being this terrible

Thanks you two! Best part of coming home is FINALLY being able to blast the TotK trailer on a TV instead of freaking out in a hotel room while looking at a phone screen.

I'm surprised you have the energy for that. When i returned home from Japan, i was so jet-lagged that was out of comission for 1 1/2 days. ^^
 
My Switch is currently en route to Vancouver for repair. I got the Scarlet/Violet OLED for Christmas, and on two occasions, its screen has turned bright orange by itself when left unattended. It'll do this during the night or in its travel case, doesn't matter when. When I finally get my hands on the system, I'll find a bright orange screen, it will be unresponsive to any buttons, the battery will be drained, and most concerningly, the system will get incredibly warm.

I called Nintendo Support about the issue and they were pretty concerned about the fact that the system heats up when unattended. They said "Nintendo is concerned" to hear about the issue and actually arranged a callback in which a Support supervisor called me a few days later.

I may be Switchum, but I am currently Switch-less. I've really missed my console, and I was looking forward to trying Advance Wars at launch, but I guess it'll have to wait.

Oh yeah, and if my Switch isn't back by TotK launch day, we will have a serious problem. That's worst-case scenario since this is the most hyped I've ever been for a game... not playing on launch day would be devastating.

Sure, after the 3DS eShop shuts down when I was scrambling to get Pokemon Bank installed 🙃

I'll have to double check, but if the 3DS batteries are the ones that can be swappable with the Wii U tablet, maybe I should get an extra one after all this time just to have a backup

I’ve wanted a new SSX game for a while. Think it would do well in the current landscape personally with social media. They probably would botch it though.

Not looking forward to the scam accounts coming.

Honestly same; I'm certainly nervous how EA might double down on the SSX release from 2012 if they were to release a new game. I enjoyed SSX 3 well enough and played a bit of the Wii game, but I felt in their efforts to expand appeal it watered down the gameplay, visuals and course layouts that made SSX Tricky so beloved in the first place and still to this day two decades later. At its core it's meant to be an over-the-top arcade racer and not have a sense of realism (which I think is what made the Mario, Luigi and Peach additions in SSX 3 on Gamecube so jarring; they definitely would have belonged more in the cartoony character proportions of SSX Tricky).

I feel if they wanted to incorporate a social media/influencer element as part of the gameplay, it needs to be exaggerated. It works well in FIFA because it's grounded in the real world, but the laws of physics are thrown out the window on purpose in SSX and should be reflected accordingly

Not Nintendo related but I may have found the best workout song.

Was doing dumbbell press with 75s, and tried to do 1 rep, and failed. Rested up a few minutes, put on Cha La Head Cha LA - Dragon Ball z theme, and was able to do the entire set of 8. That song hits different man.
 
So I'm not big on fighting games but I have the Street Fighter 6 demo a try. The character creator is good:
