I think one of the main reasons Nintendo has stuck with me all these years is that when the world feels dark, scary and stressful, as it does today, taking a break from it to visit the Mushoom Kingdom, Hyrule, Popstar, or even Tallon IV is some of the most effective relief I know of.

Escapism is a precious thing, and much like a good book or movie, Nintendo's games excel at it.

It would be nice if “Steam Deck Verified” games could slim down their install size by cutting out some of the stuff the portable mode wouldn’t need.
FF7R Integrate said to say hello!
~94GB install is just ... bah. MH World did it well, offering a Hi-res Texture pack as quasi DLC for free.

So, I haven’t kept up as well with the thread the last few days, so I’m not sure here, but it seems like the May ST is yet to be claimed?

If so, I think I would want to make a claim for it. It’s the TotK month, and I have some ideas for a Zelda-themed ST.

Please note, however, that since I already did the June 2022 one, anyone who haven’t done an ST before that is up for it will of course take priority over my claim, so if that is the case, then I will withdraw it.

(That being said, I’m always also open for collaboration!)

Hey, at least you might still be able to take a look at Mario's shoes.

I actually want to go to the Nintendo Store. Everything will probably be more expensive but I might buy a statue of liberty themed Pikachu for my girlfriend but really for me.

Still playing TTYD.

I read Flurrie's lines in a Mid-Atlantic accent. You know, those accents that actors and actresses have in old movies.

Does an indie world usually drop around GDC? Some folks are hoping Storyteller will get a final demonstration before it's release later this month.

March has frequently been when an Indie World drops, but it was in May last year.

There’s a good chance they are spreading these out more (possibly only two per year) since the games shown increasingly have farther off dates. April or May again seem like safer bets.

Yep, as far as I know it remains unclaimed! I'll put your name in the ST list right now, but of course I'll leave up a provision if anyone is open to collaborating to DM you if that's okay!

Oh, the wait for this one is going to be painful.

At least we won't wait too long for a Switch port, thanks to Gearbox. Annapurna is so incompetent when it comes to porting games to Switch.

Wonder when Solar Ash will get a date for Switch.

So... nobody actually likes interacting with Metroids, right? That's all just a giant prank? Because Metroids are the most annoying, un-fun thing in this game by far. Hey, I figured out where to go! Wait, let me drop everything and kill this annoying things that block my screen and bump me off platforms

Assuming HLB will be in Early Access for a year it might not hit consoles until 2025. Probably best to hope for a port to Nintend’s next console.

Nah, I don't think it's that far away. It's under Embracer umbrella, there are few talented port studios out there, we could get console ports, current Switch included, on the day it gets out of Early Access. Maybe even earlier than that! Risk of Rain 2, another Gearbox published game, got a Switch port while it was in early access and was super successful.

I've had a blast with Metroid Prime Remastered until the Omega Pirate fight, then it became an absolute unfun slog. I cannot stand any part of the game that has Fission Metroids in it, either.
Fission Metroids are miserable, I ended up just giving up on fighting them entirely and racing to the next room before they reached critical mass.

Zero plans to get Bayo Origins, but I've now realised that (with loyalty points) I could nab it for £38, which isn't too bad; the 10 hours ish run time is actually appealing. I'll have to try the demo.

I'm pretty much with you. They should have adjusted how often enemies respawn. Having enemies respawn every time you leave a room in the 2D games is w/e because you can just obliterate them at the end of the game. In Prime it is just a massive momentum killer.

The final two boss encounters are great though.

The regular Metroids are cool, meanwhile the Fission Metroids are the worst regular enemy I've seen in gaming. Incredibly not fun.

You know bellydrum, we really are the Metroid II: Return Of Samus

Yeah, I was always stocked on 7-8 power bombs due to hunting down expansions, so I obliterated them.

Definitely understand the frustration though.
Oh yeah definitely. Just giving a tip for those who don't know. I think I found out by accident when I forgot the controls.

I just realized that the huge Horizon Forbidden West expansion is coming out three weeks before Tears of the Kingdom. So right in the middle of the big lead up marketing period for TOTK. Seriously, who's scheduling this stuff over at Sony?! It feels like they're trying to sabotage the franchise sometimes.
