Seeing Roger Federer retire was an emotionally roller coaster for me.
- what an athlete and more importantly, he's genuinely the greatest rolemodels of not only people in sports, but of all public people.

I have never met him, but he's been a constant in my sports interest for so long..I will miss him dearly.

Need to play a lot of videogames to cope today I feel, Return to Monkey Island is where it's at this weekend.
at least there is still Nadal who also seems to be a genuine good person to be the face of tennis.

Yeah it runs quite well and controls pretty well once you get used to it. The main problem is finding a Lo rune takes like 300 hours what the hell

Lo rune not Ko rune, Ko is actually somewhat frequent
Well, I seem to recall that some runes were also a pain to get back in the day, so that's not a dealbreaker; the rest sounds very good, so I think I'll bite. Thanks!

Oh that part was a joke, obviously the rare rune drop rate is awful in every version.

Yeah, I imagined as much, but you can never be too sure nowadays; it wouldn't be the first time that someone accidentally modifies some value in a specific version of a game and an item that should appear just... doesn't. Good to know that isn't the case here, though.

Anybody played the Switch-version of Samurai Shodown? I have the PS4-version but kinda want it on the go and curious about its performance.

Really good, smooth 30 fps and acceptable resolution. Thanks to game's unique artstyle low resolution is not noticeable.

Keep in mind that online is not populated anymore. But Switch version lasted longer than PS4 version in this regard, lack of alternative fighting games made Switch owners stick with Samurai Shodown and MK11.

looking forward to the mario movie teaser

god, I wish italians were real

Me after reading this post

Nice, thanks for the reply. No online crowd is not a real problem for me. I'm not that good anyway 🙂

My PS5 has been collecting dust, but just remembered the Outer Wilds PS5 version and downloaded it. I think I'll replay the base game and then finally play the DLC too.

Back into game development, something I had honestly given up on this year.
In between my new job and me picking up music, my inspiration has been at rock bottom since February, and I never really saw an immediate future where I'll make games again.

So I'm working on a new thing where I try to rein myself in and realize where my limits are. First person, since I'm no good with character models. No NPC's since I'm not good with animations.. etc. That led me to think about the concept about making a game with no save function. It's messy as heck and not something I'm all that familiar with. I do know serialization, but implementing it is intimidating for me.

So I'm thinking something like a game with levels where there's an RNG at the beginning of the game that spans, say, 33 numbers, and every number loads a corresponding level. Every level has a self-contained narrative, and a level is something like 20 minutes long, but they all belong to the same world and lore, contributing to little pieces of a larger whole. Something to chew on, maybe.

That's a really neat idea. I also found saving to be super intimidating but after messing around with a template that did it very simply it kinda started to click for me. So I can try to help you out with that if you do want to try and add saving.

But otherwise yeah that's a cool concept. I'd definitely be interested in playing that.

Also for anyone wanting to watch this remake/best of, we know who picked it up now. It’s Hidive’s big grab like Lupin last year

This is secretly the best Bond theme song.

see if they had gone King of Limbs with this, had a horn section, varied the vocal line a bit and maybe dropped it a fifth for more of Thom’s more interesting vocal gnarls, I might agree

By the way this thread sent me here today:

It's a playlist of all Bond theme songs in chronological order. Many of them are not great.

So I updated my conversation system to be able to spawn new questions in response to particular questions (trigger questions) being asked. So like, if "how are you" leads to "I've got intestinal parasites!" then I can immediately spawn a new question titled "oh shit that sucks" with an appropriate response like "I know dude, what the hell did I eat"

Now I just need to enable quest completion to do the same thing, trigger new questions.

Yep. I swear, that game was as close to video sudoku as I think is possible.
It was just such a good combination of things that all nailed stuff I specifically love, somehow: Really fun and tricky logic puzzles, wonderful 1800s-y ship atmosphere and tons of nautical vibes and lingo, some supernatural elements, catchy fitting music, and so on. I'm pretty sure I would play nearly any other game that was just that, but again, in maybe a different setting or environment and with a new backstory.

The first time I listened to Madonna's "Die Another Day" I was coming down with a fever so when it got to the part where she says "Sigmund Freud~" in a sexy voice I was like "Jesus, I must be delirious. There's no way that's a thing". So yeah, not all of them are hits, I agree.

surprised at how much less the new booster vaccine fucked me up compared to the first three doses. Really having no reaction at all right now. Not even a sore arm. Quite happy with that. Guess that doc knew what she was doing.

So, I am wondering something.

Imagine in another universe, in one that Nintendo never showed the teaser for TotK in 2019.

Then, after 4 long years of dead silence in the world of 3D Zelda, on the anniversary, Aonuma drops this trailer:

Would it have been more or less hype than the marketing setup that we've had now?
