First half of the month means it won't be a Partner's Showcase.

If we want to stretch it, it could be a Mini but I don't see it given the rumored 1st party games.

Reminder that when we were a couple of days away from the June 28th Direct, NateDrake knew he had to adjust his predictions video to remove first-party mentions. He has said nothing about having to change his plans supposedly one day before this announcement.

We are 100% sure that a Direct will be announced tomorrow.
Are we 100% sure it will be a general one?
Quite the opposite.

We're 100% sure that it's gonna be a general.
Announcement tomorrow is not a 100% thing, Directs usually get announced on Tuesdays.

What's the difference between a Nintendo fan and an anxious Nintendo fan?

If I ever find one I'll let you know!

Nate seems pretty confident it's being announced Monday and airing on Tuesday.

I mean, if the biggest announcements Nintendo wise were ports (Zelda’s, Metroid Prime) then it could be a mini. I think the fact we have not had a general for a while means we should get a main Direct though.
They have Fire Emblem to announce, they should show BOTW2 because we barely know anything about it for a Zelda game that releases in 6 to 9 months, and Metroid Prime HD and F-Zero GX HD are general direct material because you just know Nintendo enthusiasts are going to lose their mind about it.

Notable distinction but Metroid Prime is not a port. They closed Directs with remake/remasters in the past so it is quite significant for them (Link's Awakening, Xenoblade Chronicles DE).

I think the 'one more thing' is gonna be the first Mario Movie trailer... although I hope I'm wrong.

Next Direct is going to open with Aonuma saying that not only is BotW2 delayed to Winter 2023, BotW1 is cancelled. Yes, that's right, all copies of 1 are going to be recalled. "I have a physical though," you may ask, but don't worry, he knows your address.

If it does, it's gonna be a first, so I find it a little hard to believe, honestly.
A Wednesday direct at the usual time would be cutting it possibly too close for TGS, it would be like ~2 hours before TGS starts. So unless they do it at a different time it kinda has to be Tuesday.

Can they, like, just give us a tease of Wave 3 MK8 DLC? Like not a full blow out, but a general idea of when it will come out. Also, Strikers update of course

Every time I go play a game, I assume there's someone else on the planet playing a game. So I say, 'I'm gonna go play a game, too.'

They’re gonna show Wind Waker Link flossing and Twilight Princess Link hitting the griddy while BOTW2 gets thrown into the void with Pikmin 4.

If that's the "one more thing" and Metroid hasn't been shown it will be the start of my Joker origin story.

Maybe it's my pessimism taking over, but they've already set the precedent of showing movie stuff in directs, and I don't see the new trailer being anything else than a closer

in a world where BOTW2 needs a name reveal nothing but BOTW2 is going to be a closer.

Excited for a potential announcement tomorrow either way

Seems like this should be the biggest direct we’ve had yet for a couple of reason. First, no July or E3 direct plus some completed games means a lot of things will need to be announced. Second, there are still some gaps in the rest of year release schedule and nothing dated for 1H 2023 outside of BOTW2. Third, we’ve heard nothing from several studios who are due for a release (EPD 8 & 10 in particular). Finally, the Mario movie comes next April and I’d be shocked if there wasn’t some Mario release around that time to capitalize on the film.

As such, here are my predictions:
  • TP/WW Combo Pack => releasing in early October
  • Metroid Prime Remastered => releasing in November
  • New Fire Emblem =>releasing in Feb’23
  • F-Zero GX Remastered => releasing in Mar’23
  • BOTW3 trailer & name reveal (no hard date presented, but expecting June due to the next announcement)
  • One more thing…new 2D Mario from EPD 10 => releasing in early Apr’23

I think Advanced Wars will get a separate Twitter drop at some point for Dec or Jan. Everybody’s 1-2 Switch will also be a one-off announcement if it’s even released. I don’t think we see either game EPD 8 is working on, as those will be saved for a potential Drake blowout presentation and launch 2H of 2023.
This is a dream direct for me. Fire Emblem is my favourite franchise & FZero back in the spotlight is amazing.

(Especially if BotW3 is announced as you say hehe)

When is the new Nate The Hate video supposed to go live?
Nate always waits until the official announcement to drop the predictions video, so depending on whether the announcement is 9am or 10am ET tomorrow, I would look for it on YouTube and Spotify very shortly thereafter!

I don't know the specific details about Square-Nintendo's arrangement. I can only confirm that Nintendo definitely provides financial support (or at least partial funding) for many of Square's games. Your observation about the lack of a PlayStation port is interesting though!

The nice thing about these 2D-HD games is they don't require a super large budget to produce. So, the financial risk is very minimal for both Nintendo and Square. Throwing financial support behind these 2D-HD games is a smart move by Nintendo. It helps build the perception of Switch being a strong RPG system.

I’ll be restless with 2D-HD until we see it used for Chrono Trigger.

I can't believe I am lucky enough to have my favorite game of all time be remade. Like. I just never imagined this would happen cause they care so little for Metroid.
That's a mood. Prime 2 may be my actual favorite but getting any of the Prime games remade is right up there with like, a Dune 2K or Atomic Runner remake or something. Obscure pipe dream.

Will the final trailer for The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild surpass the first game's final trailer at the 2017 Nintendo Switch Presentation ?

i really hope the mario film isnt the last thing, that would be ridiculous.

A mediocre film by the worst of the large western studios being the closer. Wow, surely would be very talked by the audiences of a direct, just not positively.

A mediocre film by the worst of the large western studios being the closer. Wow, surely would appeal a lot to the audiences of a direct, just not in a good way.
Imagine if the last September Direct closed with the Voice Cast reveal omg :ROFLMAO:

It won’t be. If they closed last year with Bayonetta over the Mario Movie, they aren’t going to close this year with the Mario Movie over Zelda.

With that being said, I really want a trailer. I need to laugh at something.

My guess is the Mario movie trailer, if it's there at all, will be at the midpoint rather than the closer.
