They won't. I personally don't think it will ever go away, it's the perfect way for third party games to be shown of, with just less than a minute. They will never go back on how it used to be with NOA members or Mr. Iwata talking about what are we looking right now, that would be really slow paced nowadays. They at least get rid of the headlines layout that they used in 2017 which literally showed which games are coming next but now it's perfect I would say.

So what are the rumours now, in regards to new announcments and stuff? Rating board leaks and what not.
The big 3 people seem confident will show up Tuesday are

Metroid Prime Remake
WW & TP Switch ports
New Fire Emblem

After that we have heavily hinted/rumored things like

GBA NSO (emulator leaked)
Goldeneye Remaster/NSO (Nintendo getting the game rerated in Germany)
GC remasters coming including F-Zero GX (multiple people have talked about more remasters/remakes, insiders with good track record teasing F-Zero)
Drake (new Switch hardware/major revision, see the other thread)
Everybody's 1-2 Switch (major leak from Imran, no idea if/when we see it)

Everything else just seems to be wild speculation or hopium.

It's a me issue but I hate how they sometimes spoil shit for me. Just show me the trailer without saying what's next ahead of the trailer. 🤷‍♂️
True, that happens sometimes, but at least they have gotten better with it.

The one thing I hated about Direct headlines was that period were they showed like the next 5 or 6 announcements coming after the current one. Thank goodness that format didn't last.

"Save the world using your stealth skills from a villain whom you're a clone of" and the trailer begins...

Don't forget It Takes Two and Skyrim

It seems so strange to have an announcement tomorrow for Tuesday because directs have always been on Wednesday and Thursday before... but oh well.
I trust Nate + Nintendo has been a little weird so I can expect it

The question is... will they announce it at 3 pm or at 4 pm CEST?

They aren't always on Wed & Thur.. for a start their E3 ones never were.

But if it was the Bintendo Birect from Boobysoft I'm betting plenty would
The Direct/Birect announcer in his usual jovial manner be like: "Now check out THESE Adult Masterpieces!"

* cue Senran Kagura or something like that *

This could be the last day of this thread.

It's been an honor posting with all of you. I think like 80% of my Famiboards posts were in this thread.

I have been mostly playing my Switch this year. I bought a new PC on January to play more games there but....

-Arceus released on January
-I played Elden Ring on my Ps5 on February
-I ended up playing the Octo Expansion and the Age of Calamity DLC this year
-Kirby released on March
-I replayed Odin Sphere
-I played Nirvana Initiative on my Ps5
-I started Three Hopes on launch
-I completed XC3, which took a entire month

I only played The Witness on my new PC this year...

I got one : We'll get a Partner Showcase tuesday (wait, I'm not joking actually).
that would be very interesting indeed

if the switch really will be deprecated early next year by a replacement switch 2 then maybe talking about next year can wait

There's still the possibility of another historical event pushing back the Direct. Don't lose faith people. There's still hope that this thread can keep on living for just a little while longer.

A glutton, a cute round critter and an eldritch horror walk into a bar. The bartender says, "oh hey Kirby!"

Best I could do with short notice...

Seems like this should be the biggest direct we’ve had yet for a couple of reason. First, no July or E3 direct plus some completed games means a lot of things will need to be announced. Second, there are still some gaps in the rest of year release schedule and nothing dated for 1H 2023 outside of BOTW2. Third, we’ve heard nothing from several studios who are due for a release (EPD 8 & 10 in particular). Finally, the Mario movie comes next April and I’d be shocked if there wasn’t some Mario release around that time to capitalize on the film.

As such, here are my predictions:
  • TP/WW Combo Pack => releasing in early October
  • Metroid Prime Remastered => releasing in November
  • New Fire Emblem =>releasing in Feb’23
  • F-Zero GX Remastered => releasing in Mar’23
  • BOTW3 trailer & name reveal (no hard date presented, but expecting June due to the next announcement)
  • One more thing…new 2D Mario from EPD 10 => releasing in early Apr’23

I think Advanced Wars will get a separate Twitter drop at some point for Dec or Jan. Everybody’s 1-2 Switch will also be a one-off announcement if it’s even released. I don’t think we see either game EPD 8 is working on, as those will be saved for a potential Drake blowout presentation and launch 2H of 2023.

I just walked my dog 3 feet away from some adolescent male deer with super sharp looking antlers, saw the direct flash before my eyes.

I'd much rather go by COVID than by being gored by a deer.
