A partners direct has their name nintendo attached to it. At the end of the day if their games are there or not it’s a video produced by Nintendo. It’s the same thing. I’m done with this conversation. I guess they’ll be associated with the queens death with a partners direct with their name attached to it.

I literally said that I don’t agree with the reasoning and that the regular direct will likely happen as planned. All I’m saying is that we don’t have the inside track on how Nintendo considers the marketing of their games, so we shouldn’t be acting like we know exactly what they’ll end up doing.

Theres a big chance it is earlier that week than usual, simply because TGS starts on thursday (in Japan) and their third party partners would like to have the games announced before that. Ideally before thursday.

Technically it can air as late as wednesday in the west, which would be night or early morning in Japan, so before TGS officially opens, but that could be too short notice for the 3rds.

I'm talking about Nintendo delaying directs due to world events, however you want to describe it. Except in this case they would need to at least get the partner stuff out before TGS. Not that it matters now as Grubb seems to have confirmed it's still on.

There's loads releasing this month: Ooblets, Potion Permit, Bear and Breakfast, Hokko Life, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Lemon Cake etc.

I'm really hoping they finally show DK as its been 8 years since TF. Idk something tells me it may be in 2023, but they could show a teaser now.

What I'm expecting is BOTW2, WWHD/TPHD, Metroid Prime HD, and some other surprises. I think this will be a great direct but I'm not sure if both Mario or DK will be shown.

For my Fami film friends, I checked out the new horror film, BARBARIAN, last night and, uh... (laughs nervously) what the fuck???

Definitely encourage any of my fellow horror fiends to check it out in theaters ASAP. One of the truly shocking, suspenseful, and intentionally funny horror films I can remember seeing in the past couple years, with some social commentary too but not heavy handed. Go in as blind as you can, and pass 2 quick hours while you wait for the direct!

I’m glad this movie is gaining traction. As a former Detroiter, it’s always nice to see films set in the city (even if it wasn’t filmed there).

I definitely believe we get one or the other. It’s just hard to tell. Nate thinks the DK game can be announced now or the next direct in 2023. A new Mario game is probably done or near done too. It’s really just what Nintendo’s plans are.

I imagine if they have a 2D DK and 2D Mario ready they’ll keep them pretty far apart.
