I sit here tearing down monarchies and yet the closest representative Nintendo figure for me, fused to my resetera / famiboards persona, is literally some kind of space royal

oh god what do I do

They may choose not to have a big event and just do things on Twitter separately as underwhelming as that might be

I think it's cool that God heard me complain about the remaster Direct and delayed it until there was something cool for me

Perhaps space royals don't commit the same atrocities as Earth royals?

I feel like further study of this concept would result in a Gundam series though so...

For some reason I feel like this close to a full scale General Direct it would be too late to just throw all that out the window and do something different, so if anything they delay it a week

I get we are all just speculating but that just doesn’t make sense to me. I can’t imagine they are like:

β€œOk, 15 video game trailers all at once is too insensitive, let’s just show one at a time via Twitter drops” etc

But it’s Nintendo so I dunno
 
My Queen list currently includes:

-SOPHIE
-Ethel Cain
-All 12 members of Loona
To name a few

but remember it’s always important to Stan Responsibly

I wanted to include video game characters but sadly my mind has gone blank

Honestly the circus is all a bit exhausting. Going to just sit back the next few days, play Splatoon, and see what happens.

Last September Direct didn't have such titles though, all Japanese third party announcements were from Square and they were not featured in TGS. ActRaiser even was a shadowdrop.

The rest were west made games, like Disco Elysium, Shadowrun, Wreckfest and Dying Light.

I'm presuming Emily knows of specific titles that will be announced at the upcoming Direct.

They'll probably just do some twitter drops for the third party games that need to be announced for next week and they'll wait past the funeral to announce the games they need to release this year. No direct until February.
I also don't see a partners direct because the problem in itself is the direct not the games.

Just depends what needs to get out before TGS (Japan focused in person event which won't be delayed) - a streaming event which would likely clash with one of many events taking place over the next ten days is very different to putting out a tweet saying a game is coming out. I don't think its about insensitive, its about marketing and not having people distracted or not watching bc they're watching something else/at events

They can still choose to have the direct after and just ignore the fact the games have been shown at TGS

Yeah, it really is a pickle.

I wouldn't be shocked if the show goes on. The normal Direct time is very late in the UK anyway (like midnight or so?), so it wouldn't be happening, like, during a major event or anything.

Maybe they don't? All the rumored/leaked third party stuff are from western studios right now. Would be shocked if we get anything new from Japanese ones, their lineup for the rest of the year seems to be complete as of now.

yeah, in UK that's 10pm. Or maybe they will also not do a UK stream? Don't know if that would work.

Also IIRC Japanese Nintendo Directs are very different from the ones we get here broadcasted in Europe/US
 
Purely speculation.

Maybe Grubb is just trying to warn us that Nintendo might delay/cancel the Direct. I don’t know this, but perhaps he doesn’t have any info on the delay, he’s just trying to get us prepared in case the delay happens. Even that I would appreciate.

A Nintendo Direct would have more eyes on it because Nintendo also tweets out the announcements during and after the presentation. So your suggestion that to avoid being drowned by the queen's news, Nintendo should do less? How does that work?

I think that’s exactly why he said it, especially because if there is a delay everyone would be yelling at him when there’s nothing next week.
