I expect 1 more unannounced Nintendo published title for the holidays to be announced. Could be the Metroid Prime HD collection , TP/WW collection (though I've said before it's the least interesting thing they could do), or some brand new surprise game. Keep in mind Age of Calamity wasn't announced until September in 2020, that year also skipped an E3 direct and only had partner directs, so there's technically plenty of content we would know by now under a normal E3 year that we may not know about.

Generally though, if they go back to a direct format this september, I expect it to be 3rd party heavy like usual.

Nate said that the Batman Arkham Trilogy is coming to Switch, and the trilogy appears in a few listings

If only Arkham Origins can get ported to modern systems. It's the only game in the series I haven't played yet and, for some reason, they refuse to bring it over

I mean, the original sources were DK Vine and Z*ppo. Those are super shaky sources. There were other signs like the theme park, movie rumors, and the new merchandise thing, but now we can properly speculate on it with a developer more certainly attached.

8. Nintendo's implementation of Denuvo in all first party games to keep all of humanity safe from the evil pirates.
9. The Sequel to the Breath of the Wild TM has been delayed until 2025. Please understand! New screenshot in the next Direct.
10. Finally I reveal the 2025 timeline for Switch Pro.

I honestly have no real attachment to Donkey Kong. Had a Genesis as a kid. Didn't play DK 64. Didn't play Returns. I have Tropical Freeze and it's a good game but I'm indifferent to the cast. I did play the original Country games as a kid but it was just at friend's houses so I'd only get to chance to play a few levels here and there. So if there is a new DK game, my excitement for it really depends on the gameplay.

Speaking of, would you consider joining Grubb for a Game Mess Morning on Giant Bomb if approached? I've become pretty addicted to tuning in to those, and Nintendo rumours come up a lot.

Confirmation for DK is great. I wonder in which direction they will take it. Tropical Freeze was already a masterpiece of 2D gamedesign, Nintendo will try to bring a fresh perspective.

Could be the March/Q1 Game to close the FY?

You say it was a tease, but I don't remember anything in the dialogue/presentation that frames it as more than a joke? Mario pretends to be from a different franchise while his partners try to guess what he's mimicking.

Nope, it was a tease for Dread, and the DK helmet is a tease for the new upcoming DK game.

When you think of Intelligent Systems, you think about Paper Mario and Fire Emblem, and even Pushmo and Codename STEAM and Advance Wars. You don't think about two series that they had a small hand in assisting with 35 years ago.

You can interpret it any way you want, that's just how I and many others interpreted it, especially because there were already 2d Metroid rumors at the time, and sure enough Dread was announced the following year.

If Intelligent Systems is associated with just Paper Mario and Fire Emblem, then why would they tease Donkey Kong and Metroid in an Intelligent Systems game?

And wow, I would think that co-developing the very first game in the series would be more than just a "small hand". Way to undermine their contribution to the series.
 
I'm hearing some legit rumors that not only is Nintendo planning to release The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but also the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

I have a confession, folks.

The only reason I'm hyped for DK is because it's supposedly an EPD 8 project. I was born too late to appreciate the big ape! Yes, me, the Scriblo Bimblo enjoyer extraordinaire. When I was a kid he was that character who played sports with Mario and who had all those experimental titles, and I was never on board enough to adore Returns or Tropical Freeze.

It just feels like a thinly (lol) supported theory, that Intelligent Systems' comedy series, known for constantly making meta jokes, is now teasing future projects made by other studios (as opposed to just engaging in their usual form of comedy).

I just pulled up the scene in question and the Samus helmet is a set-up for Bobby making a joke that it'd look better on "some other M."
