@chocolate_supra you once asked me about hay. Just got some for our goats for the winter and now my hand is killing me because of it
Dude you're not supposed to let the goats bite your hand along with the hay

I read "Tetris remastered".

How do you remaster Tetris?

We need to make an Ant Zippo account to take him on like Sylux did to Samus
Call it "Bic"

I’m currently playing Metal Gear Solid (PS1) for the first time via the PSvita, HD version of Twin Snakes would be cool to follow this up

The only thing that makes me hesitant about how substantial this Direct will be is the seemingly upcoming Drake release. They‘ll surely pair that reveal with new announcements as well. I‘d hope they would do the Drake reveal as soon as possible but that obviously wouldn’t make sense for their holiday business.
This upcoming direct is going to be focused on Switch games coming out over the next 6ish months. Between the stuff we know is coming (BotW2, Bayonetta 3, Advance Wars 1+2, Harvestella, Mario+Rabbids 2, Pokemon gen 9) and the stuff we're confident is coming (Prime remake, new Fire Emblem, Everybody's 1-2 Switch) Nintendo only really needs 1-2 new games over the next 6 months to fill the calendar. That carries you through the holiday, and then you can start up the marketing/hype machine for Drake. Since it's basically September, it's pretty clear now that whatever Drake is won't be announced until 2023.

I’m an insider too, in fact, I’ll leak something that’s happening in two minutes

My grandpa is going live on Twitch with some BotW! I’ll link the stream here shortly. Moderated by yours truly.

Question to Jeff and/or Nate: what is the likelihood of the new mainline FE being revealed at this Direct? Is it even known whether or not it'll show up? I hope Zelda ports and Primee HD aren't the only new things lol.

Still waiting for Golden Sun Zippo.

(He's lucky that Emily pretty much confirmed it).
Saying Nintendo is still interested in the IP isn't confirming it's coming any time soon. She also said it's likely a dev other than Camelot would end up doing it when it returned, and Nintendo hadn't, as of that post, landed on anyone.

Unless there's been a newer statement I missed.

Having said that, Camelot did update their website with new job applications and a bunch of Golden Sun assets, so who knows.

Wait, what? She did?
Unless I've missed something, Emily said some time ago that Nintendo were still very interested in the franchise and wanted get it going again, but had lacked the resources to make it happen. So the poster is overstating a bit, unless there's been more recent info on that front.

Was about to ask how would they do the solar detector gimmick on the Switch before realizing that I was once again confusing Golden Sun and Boktai

Fire Emblem to me is highly probable for this Direct; Nintendo revealed the first footage and name for Three Houses at E3 2018 ahead of a planned 'spring 2019' release (March through June), meaning 9 to 12 months reveal to release (yes I know - it was announced in 2018 as 'new Fire Emblem for Switch' or something; that was more of a 'moving on from 3DS' reassurance than proper promotion, though).

That being the case, September is pretty likely for Fire Emblem, given the series has usually launched in the first half of the year, with only Three Houses missing that window in the last decade - and even then, it was a July title after its delay. Of course, we saw this February and last February that Nintendo are seemingly now comfortable waiting until the start of the year to reveal a significant chunk of their first half releases, so no counting anime chickens until they hatch.

honestly he was basically right
In terms of tracks it kinda is lol

Hard disagree, mario kart games are denoted by their mechanical changes or generational leaps in graphics

Mario Kart 64
  • 3D graphics
  • four player races
  • slipstream mechanic

Super Circuit
- portable (doesn't sound like much but it's.... a lot)

Double Dash
  • co-op LAN play
  • two player kart mechanic

DS
- online multiplayer (!)

Wii
  • updated drifting mechanic (worse imo)
  • 12-player races
  • motion controls

7
  • gliding and submersion mechanics
  • stereoscopic 3D (!)
  • first-person mode

8 / 8 Deluxe
  • 200c mode
  • HD graphics baby!!!!
  • anti-gravity
  • ATVs
  • uploading videos to YouTube
  • renegade roundup
  • introduced DLC for the first time

Tour
  • first Mario Kart on non-Nintendo devices
  • points-based system
  • Frenzy mode
  • gacha system

$40 for a thousand year old game is pretty cheap considering what an amazing archeological find that would be. It would completely change our understanding of past human civilization.

And basically confirm aliens

Maybe they could get away with charging $70 for it

One of the things I'm thinking the most when reading about upcoming Fire Emblem remakes is about how astronomically hard Nintendo is going to push the TacticianxLyn angle in the inevitable Blazing Blade remake...
