I can't believe they thought horse was close enough to host to just call the character horse

fucking have the decency to call it horst

It could happen. Last year they announced no less than four Switch ports/remasters: Star Wars: Republic Commando, Stubbs the Zombie, that RWBY game whose name I can't remember right now and Star Wars KOTOR.

Although if I were them, I'd definitely keep focusing on Star Wars games, since those clearly pull very decent sales numbers for what they are.
Ah yes, that RWBY game was also from them. Then, yes, they might have another remaster this year. I just hope it's Battlefront 2 and not that motion control only Rogue Squadron that Julian Eggbrecht suggested them to do. If there's gonna be RS remasters, they should be the original games, untouched.

Speaking of forgotten games, what if Pikmin 4 was ready a while ago but Miyamoto realised that it would be a greatest video game that humans would play in this world and he thought that other game developers would be embrassed that they will never create as beautiful game as Pikmin 4 so he just put that game on sleep.

I don’t see H1 2023 being more packed than H1 2022 imo
For Switch we had Pokémon Legends Arceus, Triangle Strategy, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, Switch Sports, Mario Strikers Battle League and Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes. Damn looking back that was an amazing H1!! Okay that's hard to beat. I think the only Switch year to beat it would be 2017 with Zelda, MK8DX, ARMS and a lot of third party exclusives that May. But in quantity and diversity this year was a monster.

For 2023 we'll have:
Zelda(confirmed). That's it... For confirmed games.
I think a potential lineup of BotW 2, Fire Emblem Next, Xenoblade 3 story DLC/standalone game, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, Mario something in June as always(new 2D game? Maybe it's January?) would be something big already.
There's a lot of potential for surprise games and third party tho.

I meant industry in general for big games in general not for Switch. Switch is looking weaker rn but Nintendo nowadays only announced games 3-6 months before releases so it means little

What you've just seen is the latest instalment in the 1-2 Switch series, Everybody's 1-2 Switch. This game is scheduled to launch on November 11th, please look forward to it.

I think its really important that Nintendo has a stellar H1 2023. With the Mario movie and theme park attraction opening and all, it would greatly reflect on the gaming side and they could play on the momentum from all those areas.

The new Switch would definitely make that impact for them so hopefully its out not too long from now

If there's a Pro launch early next year, then it could be a contender for best H1 lineup ever. They'd already have BotW2, Fire Emblem and Metroid prime remake from the first party front (I expect a Pokémon spinoff too. MD maybe) and it'll be supported by tons of third party miracle ports like RDR2 or Gotham Knights.

If no Pro, then it could be a barren wasteland, save for first party lineup. Late ports of Soul Hackers 2 or Scarlet Nexus will take time to arrive so that leaves H1 with... Marvel? DQ3 remake? DQ Adventures of Dai?

I'm definitely expecting a new 2D Mario game in H1 next year to bank off the movie/theme park hype. Doubt that we'll see 3D Mario so close to BOTW2 (or next year at all).

Battlefront 2 was the one with the 501st campaign, right? That was a good one, yeah. As for the Rogue Squadron games, I honestly think they could do a relatively straightforward port and almost nobody would complain. I revisited Rogue Squadron 2 some time ago and I was really impressed at how well that game holds up.

i just hope it wont be too long until we see nintendo ips actually suited for series and cinema
I mean, there are some pretty cinematic Nintendo series, especially on the JRPG side. I don't think they'll venture too far into western AAA over the shoulder narrative games though

i have no idea how you two understood this as me saying nintendo should create cinematic ips lol. I meant ips that are better suited than mario for cinema and tv lol.

Considering is a Japan centric franchise it will probably get an anime movie imo

Anime movies have a low ceiling for revenue compared to animated films. I see them wanting to make their box office films with a ¨global appeal¨ view point. And Splatoon is a series that can hit those animated film notes pretty easily with the sense of humor in the game already. I would think Fire Emblem would be stuck with being only anime media because of its design.

Agreed.

My advice would be: don't read reviews, don't watch videos, and don't even click on topics about the game. More than any other game I've played, Tunic is about discovery, and that includes progression as well as basic mechanics, like saving. So try to go in as uninformed as possible.
All of this! I'm not sure there's almost ever been game I was happier that I went into knowing very little.

Splatoon always gave me strong "anime series of 5-minute episodes about the characters getting into cute/funny hijinks" vibes, although a movie could definitely work too.

If we get an Indie World this coming week, that wraps up basically everything that was "expected" before the next Direct. The only remaining question IMO is where the Direct fits in around the Splatoon 3 launch. I still think it'll be before TGS no matter what, so it could be either August 31st/Sep 1st (probably the earliest date likely), September 7/8 (puts it very near Splat 3, so iffy), or maybe September 13th (a Tuesday, so unusual, and maybe too close to TGS). I'm leaning toward the earlier date as of now, which only puts us a bit over two weeks away! We're getting close. (unless we aren't :p)

Assuming the next switch releases with Zelda in Spring, I think 3D Mario will be holiday (2017 redux) and I can't see both 2D and 3D Mario in the same year.

those epd 9 planners are in the same hell as the pikmin 4 director
The next Silent Hill game is going to be about a bunch of epd 9 employees coming to terms with their inability to please every Nintendo fan out there.

You read it here first.

Please don't do this to me, it took me enough time to accept that EPD 9 was probably only working on Tour and there was no side project in between (and yes I know that some EPD 9 higher ups were not credited).
What if we make it worse and EPD 9 is still almost only working on Mario Kart Tour and their new non-mobile game will not release until 2026+?
