How can you be this bad at fake leaking after months/years(?) of doing it? You never give a time frame of when something happened, especially if it's easily verifiable.

They're saying that the Direct tweet was still pinned yesterday and the other user says it's been up until as recent as 2 hours ago.
Both tweets don't contradict eachother.

Could it also just be possible that part of their contracts/agreements with those third parties was that it would remain a pinned tweet for 2 weeks? Including the entirety of yesterday, they could've just unpinned it as the first thing they did this morning.
I find it very hard to believe that pinning the tweet would be a contractual obligation

I mean we know something is likely today but it won’t be a direct since Nate has already said there isn’t one this week. I don’t think a pinned tweet means much either way.

Going to miss the fun today as it happens, but I hope we get a few tweets today. Bayonetta, Pokemon, and Mario Kart Wave 2 would all be very cool.

It seems to me that people are getting a bit tired here, and I understand it. We've been waiting and getting excited for big first party content since early June (remember when it was totally impossible to not see BotW 2 in a June Direct?)
This is why I blame drip feed Twitter drops, we're getting less and less excited, we can't be constantly waiting for news. And sorry, but this is not crazy internet hype.

I bet Markomaro would actually be highly liked if they would stop trying to front as an insider and just operate as a “tracker” for leaks and stuff. Stop acting like they know something and actually act like they secretly already do: just amalgamating what they find on message boards, etc. into one easy-to-follow stream of “hey I found some hints”

Kirby dream buffet is also indicative of just how secretive Nintendo can be. There were no prominent leakers anticipating it, and Nintendo making its on spin on fall guys turning it into a gobble racer was surprising.

for insider knowledge, I look to Kit and Crysta right now, they mentioned how Nintendo was tired of its predictable direct scheduling, and wanted to uproot the formula. I believe this is the reason why they had a magnificent partner showcase that actually garnered a lot of attention and gave 3rd parties a chance to shine.

i don’t think twitter drops is the future for Nintendo. Nor do I believe in a September direct being locked in. My prediction is an August showcase for in-house Nintendo games, where the format and branding has changed by a little, hence why it has taken some time for them to reveal 1st party line-up.

sectioning it of in this way doesnt undermine the 3rd party content, and breathes new life into stale format and scheduling. I don’t think Nintendo wants to be too reliant on Twitter, as they enjoy going their own path.

This is a really good point and a great idea. The first person to run with this and compile all the potentially legit gossip into a handy Twitter feed would do well. Pretending to know things is so sad and pathetic, and everyone can see through it.

Not saying I think 'Directs are dead' either by the way, just something to keep people on their toes, even if it's as minor as moving it to August/October instead.
The September Direct is an institution though. Whether it's just a Partner Showcase or a full Direct, they'll always have something for the Tokyo Game Show

Would many not have argued the same about a June E3-esque Direct prior to last month though? It wasn't a case of if it would get announced, it was when. Then it didn't.
Sure. If there isn't a Tokyo Game Show, as there wasn't an E3 this year, then we might not get a September Direct.

Why are we expecting something today? Bring me up to speed. I have strayed away from the path of enlightenment and have been playing too many games lately.
Nate heard Bayo news should be coming soon, and that we shouldn’t expect any directs just Twitter drops

Syluxhunter said Bayo news today (unsure how reliable they are but this would be a good tell)

There have been Bayo updates the past week or so (ratings update, eshop page updated)

There also was a Pokémon image leak presumably from a new trailer, so that is also a possibility

Yesterday the ESRB was updated on Bayonetta 3 and Nate (along with others) has said news is coming this month. Lastly, SyluxHunter said news for B3 was coming today.

I've lost track on Pokemon but multiple people were saying today for new trailer but maybe that has changed? I know some stuff leaked recently but not sure if legit or not.

Its wednesday ;)

Finally, the time has come:

Nintendo Direct Mini - Employee Showcase

Nintendo Direct Micro - Contractors Showcase
Tune in for 20 minutes of our executives laughing in the faces of our contractors

Sure. If there isn't a Tokyo Game Show, as there wasn't an E3 this year, then we might not get a September Direct.

i think there is a higer probability of a switch enhanced showcase, where previously released titles are given the spotlight. Evergreen titles, such as odyssey, Mario party, breath of the wild etc. being showcased on the enhanced platform, with 1 or 2 new first party Nintendo games sprinkled in.
nintendo might want to deter people from buying the competing hardware, and gaining a stronger following for those who prefer specs and performance. The upgraded switch will be a nice way to do it, as well as continuing the sales of their biggest titles.

nintendo wouldn’t want to alienate 100+ mil hardware user base, by coming on too strong with a new hardware that is incompatible with already existing software.
playstation 5 exclusives have not performed that well, and Nintendo is probably taking notes.

I don’t expect the next true hardware before 2nd quarter 2024.
