I know this depends on personal preferences but I think a lot of people agree that even-number years have been worse than odd-numbered ones for switch. People speak highly of 2017, 2019, and even 2021 to an extent. I see a lot less of that for 2018 and 2020.

Honestly 2022 seems solid so far, it's just the announcement schedule has become frustrating. Everything started out normal in Februrary but here we are... waiting... and waiting....

What are we waiting for though? We currently have Live A Live next week, Xeno3 the following, Kirby Dream Buffet, Splatoon 3, Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and Pokémon all pretty much dated (looking at you kirbs). Really the only thing we are probably missing is Prime remaster announcement and a Bayo date.

Misogynistic comments such as these will not be tolerated on Famiboards and are not in the spirit of the site guidelines; do not do this again as the team will not be flexible on the matter - Donnie, Mazi, paranoodle
Trying to understand Nintendo is like trying to understand women. You can try to understand but there is no way you will understand.

If the remaining games on schedule in 2022 live up to their hype, I’d easily put it over 2021 and maybe even 2019 too.

I was exaggerating with the GIF but the lack of first-party news in the most recent direct has people wondering when Nintendo will announce those things.

Mario Kart DLC. Advance Wars. Mario Strikers DLC. Zelda Remasters?

Basically a lot of smaller or speculative stuff.

fr tho this shit is adorable

Tbh I don't remember a lot of Nintendos 2021, but Dread instantly made it better than 2018, 2020, and arguably 2022 FOR ME.

I emphasized the "for me" part because again, the way people react to these things ultimately comes down to personal preferences.

Im not expecting a new announcement for the reset of the week. Next week we will get a new trailer for Pokemon or maybe Mario Kart 8 DLC
Pokemon is getting a new trailer tomorrow, a ton of screenshots leaked from it yesterday. Mario Kart is having tournaments for the next two weeks so it's either coming this week or it's coming in August.

Dread would be my GOTY for every Switch year besides 2017 of course.

I now believe we know every game releasing the rest of this year no more surprises fire emblem is 2023 for new hardware. Zelda Remasters dont exist. Prime Remakester has always been vaporware. Advance Wars is gone. Bayonetta will probably come out.
Worst case Im wrong and get a surprise

Maybe but screenshots leaked doesn’t mean a new trailer tomorrow could easily be next week

So I've been thinking why Nintendo hasn't shown BotW 2 yet and here are my thoughts, with most likely to least likely.

1. Nintendo is just taking their time with the game and needs more time to reveal.
2. Doesn't want Zelda marketing to overlap with Splatoon 3/ Xenoblade 3.
3. Waiting for New hardware to show off game in best light.
4. Nintendo is weird and believes they need E3 to show the game.

Yeah they totally hate this lack of E3, it's the only logical explanation left that fits. They're trying to actively pump value into the concept of E3 to fans.

Talk about doomposting jesus christ. We're only in July.

ngl. They are succeeding with me.

Nintendo.... I am yours.

Do you hear?

I am your bitch!

Tbh I don't think it's too absurd and I'm inclined to agree.

July - Live A Live, Xenoblade 3
August - this new Kirby game?
September - Splatoon 3
October - Mario + Rabbids/maybe Bayonetta?
November - Pokemon
December - nothing

It's hardly quiet.

A few insisting on Metroid Prime is the only potential addition there, maybe in November or December, but I genuinely don't see room for anything else noteworthy.
We do this every year. Maybe there's nothing huge, but we'll still get a couple of new titles. Probably Metroid Prime and 1-2 Switch 2 or Windwaker. Just because we didn't get a Direct in June doesn't mean the sky is falling.

Is it? Bayonetta, Rabbids, Pokemon, Splat 3 fill 4 months of the rest of this year. We know this summer pretty well at this point. What's left?
Metroid Prime exists, 1-2 Switch 2 exists, Advance Wars isn't getting cancelled and will probably drop on the eshop sometime this year.

You say that as if it’s impossible for two games to release in a month, despite both June and July having, you guessed it, two games per month.

I don't see it as doomposting, it's a very solid line-up even without the heavily rumoured games.

It's only July. There's lots of time left in the year for new reveals. Even if they don't show anything else, we have an absolutely stacked Switch schedule this year, so unless none of them interest you (valid), there's plenty to play for the Nintendo-only player, let alone multiplatform peeps.

before Kirby's dream buffet announcement : we know everything for the rest of the year

after Kirby's dream buffet announcement : we know everything for the rest of the year

No new reveals doesn't mean the sky is falling, still a solid lineup

If their reasoning for AW delay was the war that is very much ongoing and not letting up I don't see it hitting this year

Definitely possible, but equally possible that they're just fine with each of these carrying a month

Regardless of how I feel about Nintendo's lineup for the remainder of 2022... I love this.

But....but... Takahashis new haircut promised us a general direct....
