I say don't get disappointed at all. This hype train is fun enough, the payoff isn't actually necessary (but would in fact elevate it to sky high levels).

Which is exactly what's happening in a bit over 13 hours.
 
We immediately escalate everything to a ten! It's ridiculous. I mean, somebody comes up with some preposterous plan or idea, and then all of a sudden everybody's on the gas, nobody's on the brakes, nobody's thinking. Everybody's just talking over each other with one idiotic idea after another, until finally we find ourselves in a situation where we've broken into somebody's house! And the homeowner is home.

This tv quote is how this whole thread reads right now. Bonus points to anyone that recognizes where it came from.

Haven't heard THAT name in ages. Private videos, some tweets, etc., I'm catching up. So it looks like our window for if it's happening is probably within the next week or so?

I think some have said Nintendo did private some other Switch videos in the past. Do we know if the Japanese YouTube also put those same videos on private in the past.

Because I know some are saying Japan hasn’t put this one private like North America has.

If we do end up getting a Switch Pro reveal next week, do you guys think it's gonna be an actual event announced prior (potentially with 1st party stuff shown as well?), or just like, a shadowdropped tweet/trailer?

It depends on how big of a deal Nintendo wants to make this. From what I’ve read this systems sounds like a next generation type of system. You’d think they’d want to make a bigger deal out of it.

Switch Pro reveal this week with a Direct next week for the software.

I have spoken.
 
I want to designate some edge cases for the poll. I'll be updating the OP sometime tomorrow.

If you believe that the new more powerful hardware will be announced separately from a Direct, vote for the hardware option with the Direct date you predict, rather than the hardware.

If you believe we will get hardware but no event, vote for the hardware date you predict.

I apologize for this oversight.

What if Nintendo announces Switch Lite OLED along with codename and development of the Switch successor.

Regardless I'm glad that all argument over pro vs successor vs whatever will be over soon. Because this is it, one way or another. If this is not a pro, it will be too late to reveal one by the time this device's hype period winds down. And of course if it is a pro then it's just out there, that's it.

If it is a pro I really hope Nintendo is willing to give up on the one Mario Kart/Smash/etc. per console because that becomes a little obnoxious when you're waiting 9 years per game (more in Mario Kart 8's case).
