It's my only real prediction other than straight up leaked games like Batman. I don't see why Sony would have dibs on it considering the last two ps1 remasters from square were both multiplatform and featured in a direct. Furthermore I don't see why modern Sony would care about this title.
 
I get the feeling the hint here is nothing we’ll guess, and just enough to say “I told you so” once we see it.

Super curious.

This thread has gained a BUNCH of pages over the weekend. Pretty weird, since it's not March yet.

Umbrella = operation rainfall
Pizza = Ma-non
Thus obviously it's Xenoblade X 2

Good catch. I can't imagine we're looking at a 9th tweet/10th Direct because of the holiday in Japan but stranger things have happened I guess
 
I have absolutely no idea what's going on because I am very smart and attractive, and therefore have multiple IRL friends that want to spend time with me because I am so smart and attractive. However, I can confirm that none of you are free of sin! Seriously, I haven't seen a single person mention amiibo in their predictions! They're going to talk about the amiibo functionality in Kirby, and then slip in the release date for the next few Smash amiibo. The absolute disrespect on display is appalling!

I assume. I don't actually know for sure because of how smart and attractive I am, so I haven't had time to look at this thread closely.

Pizza umbrella is clearly a hint a sequel to Super Princess Peach. I hope you are all getting emotional. And some of you think that Nintendo hasn't been making enough platformers. Well here you go.
 
I really hope we Silksong at this direct haha. It could be a huge headline for the Direct if it is shadowdropped.
 
The umbrella is a reference to Penguin, the pizza is a reference to Spider-Man. Clearly, Marvel has bought DC, which will be announced by Josef Fares in the Direct

I have a predicament that (potentially) affects you all, too.

Every time I go to Nintendo’s Twitter to refresh at the appropriate time that we expect a Direct, it doesn’t happen. In my two years of being part of the Speculation community, I have never ONCE been there for a general Direct announcement drop.

They always happen when I am asleep, or am not expecting it, or just plain and simply aren’t checking Nintendo’s Twitter.

Unfortunately, tomorrow I plan to be up checking Nintendo’s Twitter, and if history repeats itself, I will single-handedly destroy our chances of getting a Direct on 2/9.

Should I still check live? Or should I “sacrifice” my time that I would have spent checking Nintendo’s Twitter page doing something else, so that the Direct will happen?

Please let me know :( I really want to be there for it, but fear if I check live at 9 or 10 AM EST, it just won’t happen.

In any case: They keep giving Star Fox chances and the best they can muster is "well they just remade Star Fox 64 and it was good I guess." I do not want to dunk on people for what they like and want but I just do not understand why they put these (stinky) horseblinders on with regards to Star Fox. The series keeps getting chances and it keeps getting unremarkable games that garner unremarkable sales numbers.

The problem is Miyamoto, who keeps going back to the Star Fox 64 well. The series needs a fresh start and complete re-imagining, preferably from a western studio. And beyond just mixing up some of the core gameplay concepts, a new title needs to be a graphical showcase for the Switch. Give us the Starlink version of Fox and team rather than the trash we got in Star Fox Zero.

I’m really hoping that Next Level Games is given a chance to tackle the franchise and turn Star Fox into Nintendo’s version of Star Wars. The work they did with Luigi’s Mansion 3 is still mind-blowing and I want them apply their talent to a broader array of characters & settings. There is so much damn potential for the franchise if Nintendo is actually willing to invest the time & energy. But it can’t just be the same old on-rails shooter we’ve gotten time and time again.

Throw caution to the wind! Be on the front lines for the rejoicing or the chaos. Either way, we'll have plenty to say and you should be there counting down with us
 
If the Direct happens on Wednesday I will order a pizza to watch alongside the presentation. Should I go white garlic or pepperoni?

Perhaps the direct will be earlier in the day so it's still the 10th in Japan? I know it's kinda unheard of, but

I saw you catch that super early, but I didn't think those holidays actually fell on the proposed Direct dates lol. Gonna be weird if a Direct airs on a Japanese holiday
 
Then the announcement must be tomorrow. The Direct won't happen on thursday because the 11th is a japanese holiday.

I don't predict amiibos anymore because I can't afford them But I will buy them no matter what
