Dumb question, but is there a way for me as a citizien from a EU-country to order some NISA swag without the shitty import costs that come from the NISA store being in the UK? I am absolutely in love with the 40yr Falcom anniversary t-shirt but the price.... :(

So another store in EU that sells NISA stuff would be greatly appreciated!

Kind of both. I think it was George Bush or someone in his administration suggesting calling them freedom fries and some dumb Republicans took it seriously. But I think for the most part, people only used the term sarcastically. I can't recall any place ever changing the name to freedom fries.

It was real, sadly. Several restaurants in my hometown made the change, some even added little flag cliparts to the menus. ๐Ÿ˜‘
 
Unsurprisingly, Pokemon Legends is climbing the Amazon best seller charts. It's the number Switch item of course and it's #3 in all of videogames, behind only gift cards for PSN and Xbox Live. Legends is only $55 on Amazon. Hmmm tempting but I try to avoid ordering from Amazon when I can.

I've most of my playthroughs with ManShep. I've only done one playthrough with FemShep. I want my next one to be FemShep, but at some point I'd like to do a Casanova ManShep run.

Seriously - I've got a day off from work. I've got a defined plan for what I want to do with my life this year. I've even got the excuse of still having a rather bad cold, to justify not going to the gym.

Yet I can't just sit down and play a game or watch a film or something :( Honestly I have no idea how some folks here have finished 5+ games this year already. Even if they're short, a game might take me a week to a month or more to finish.

Not sure what's going to work for you but I decreased my online time considerably. Less time spent on reading and talking about games, less fomo, less wasting time thinking about games that I will never play etc. and more time to do stuff that's actually fun.

Yeah, I think that's what I need to do. Like, today, I was so much less stressed just now when I simply sat down and played about an hour of Horizon Zero Dawn. A great game, and it even has a fairly satisfying open world layout that I tend to really like. If I had simply done that all day I still wouldn't have 'achieved' anything... but I would have had some more fun at least.

The issue for me is that willpower alone is really not 'enough' to achieve that goal... but there are really no good technologies to override that willpower. I've tried so many productivity tools and all that but it's impossible to find one that allows for some freedom, but makes it so that I can't just easily bypass when I feel like it.

I don't know lol. Thanks for the replies, everyone!

They were really trying to get zingers in on the caller for liking a relaxing farming sim game and being a part of a community dedicated to it, and not caring for Halo or Half Life, but the caller made all the sense in the world. It was almost like they had never heard of people who don't care for violent games before.

My Amazon arrived! It was insulator tape and weather proofing strips. I've already sealed up some of the drafts on my windows. That means a warmer apartment and lower heating costs which means more money for bullshit!

Being an adult sucks.

Like I said, you're in for one of the wildest, epic and emotional ride. Take it slow and enjoy it at your own pace, the game is phenomenal.

Let's hope AA7 is real and Shu Takumi is directing it.

Yep. Both of them worked out of the Redwood City location that Nintendo just closed. I've seen it speculated that that's the reason Nintendo Minute ended, as it was filmed out of that location by employees of that location.
 
She is probably leaving because her office closed down and doesn't want to relocated to Washington State. Even still, 14 years is a long time to be with a company. People change jobs all the time whether because they want to try something different, was offered more pay somewhere else, moved to a different location because of life circumstances, etc. It's not an uncommon thing to change jobs but it's weird that people who follow games often treat it as such.

Why is time in January so weird? I both simultaneously feel like it's taking AGES to get through and can't believe there's still two weeks until Arceus, while also feeling like Christmas was practically yesterday. Or maybe that's just pandemic time still being in effect, since that's how I've felt off and on since 2020.

I remember last year the first half of January felt like an eternity and the second half was gone in an instant. Itโ€™s looking to be the same this year. Of course, Iโ€™ve lost all concept of time for the last 2 years.

January is the most uneventful month of the year. Heck. if there wasn't the NFL playoffs this month would really suck.
