If it is Endless Ocean then I'm pretty happy with that. Another niche Nintendo ip getting a second chance to shine is always appreciated.

I own both Wii games but unfortunately never put much time into either of them. They were late pick ups that generation for me to add to my Nintendo published collection and at the time I was going through stuff like The Last Story and Xenoblade. So yeah, this would be a great chance for me to dive (hehe) into a series I don't have much experience with

See, that’s the trick - this Partner Showcase is Arika’s last hurrah as a partner. We’re getting EO 1 + 2 remastered, and then Nintendo is revealing they’ve acquired Arika, and they’ll be funding a new EO sequel.

If it's Endless Ocean, I wonder if it will be a collection of both games remastered like the Another Code Recollection set which includes both games.
 
I unironically want high budget games in both Wave Race and Endless Ocean franchises within the first year of Switch.

A Wave Race with a scale and content of Forza Horizons.

An Endless Ocean with full immersion and beautifully rendered wonder of the sea.

I never played the first game, but the second had some very slight vibes of danger and even had some weird lightgun sections where you fended off sharks with a weird non-lethal blaster.

I'd like them to evolve that further and offer two modes: chill mode and danger mode. Danger mode would have some wildlife threatening you (without the silly lightgun sections tho) and even feature other hazards associated with divings (you wouldn't die, but you dive would be cut short... sorta like Dave, I guess)

Probably both, since they seem to cater to adjacent but different crowds. TTYD needs a small trailer at most, mainly to remind us the game is coming out with a release date attached. FE 4 needs an announcement trailer (gameplay, cutscenes, etc) and a release date if IntSys's usual pattern is to be followed. That being said, TTYD could eaisly survive on a Twitter/YouTube trailer while an FE 4 announcement would do best in a Direct.

people are confused why pyoro would tease "dolphin" and have the expectations be "gamecube" only to then swerve and have it be Endless Ocean but like ... that's kinda their MO

Last time they tweeted a picture of DK, waited for everybody (including hacks like markomaro) to take the bait and start talking about how a new DKC is totally confirmed, then tweeted something about "but who's he fighting" and a gif of Mario to make it clear it was actually a Mario vs Donkey Kong game the whole time

Seriously though. Out of all the games - the endless ocean of obscure junk - that could be revealed at a Partner Showcase, what are the odds it would turn out to be my obscure junk?
 
it's probably too soon since F-Zero 99 just came out not even 6 months ago but just as a random observation the devs of the Endless Ocean games also made Tetris 99 and Pac-Man 99

an Endless Ocean 99 actually sounds pretty interesting

Seriously though, Wii’s graphical capabilities were straight up contrary to the game’s essence.

I think Endless Ocean could do hella well or even blow up with good enough graphics and production values.

People are very into virtual tourism.

The mixing up of opinion with leaks is more the "fault" of people reading/listening to Nate's comments than Nate himself. Nate states when he's speculating/ actively saying something is happening.

As cool as Endless Ocean seems to be, I gotta admit I'm a bit disappointed that it's probably not gonna be Ecco

For a precious little blip of time I was picturing Defender of the Future being remastered for modern hardware and I was really really happy

I'm gonna be tryina live in that period of time all week

I agree with everything on there, great thread!!

Especially the ancient sea part. Finding the legendary creatures in Blue World is one of my favorite parts and the Sea Serpent and Anomalocaris especially so… a whole unlockable area with that stuff would be so cool!! Maybe you can find it similar to raising the money to explore the ruins from the end of Blue World? But less tedious please…
 
Yeah I'm going with Endless Ocean as the game being referenced by Pyoro as it was developed by a third party company but published by Nintendo on Wii and features dolphins and then you have the Endless Ocean trademark that surfaced around the time of Another Code was trademarked. We got Another Code Recollection and now I think we are about the maybe get an Endless Ocean collection.

As much as I would love GameCube Nintendo remasters and other things to appear, I just don't think that is going to happen here. Not in this Partner Showcase.
