It's definitely a reference to Skyward Sword at the very least. In Skyward Sword, when Link first arrives on the surface, there's a cutscene that takes place where Link sees in his mind the Imprisoned. The screen goes dark and what looks like the red Malice comes from the bottom left corner of the screen. It looks like the beginning of the 2nd BotW 2 trailer was based off of this scene.Biggest Breath of the Wild 2 glow-up so far?
Corruption/blight going from purple -> red.
BotW2 being Ancient Cistern XXXXXXL would be so tasty.I wonder if we will get some of the concept enemies that was posted for BOTW, it would fit perfect if we did explore the underground world (it being a much more darker side of BOTW2)
Kind of like a
Hyrule - Middle Ground
Sky - Haven
Underground - Hell
I just have one thing to say:BotW2 being Ancient Cistern XXXXXXL would be so tasty.
It's so fascinating how SS is Dungeons: The Game and BotW is Overworld: The Game. Both excel at their specialisation and leave something to be desired on the other front.I just have one thing to say:
Ancient Cistern and its execution is just flawless from top to bottom. What a dungeon man.

Same as Tantalus really. All that build-up for a monster that looks really silly. One nitpick about the Ancient Cistern (which I adore) - while 'hell' is a very menacing atmosphere, the zombie Bokoblins (and Skyward Swords Bokoblins in general) feel rather non-threatening. Stalmaster and Koloktos are great bosses that fit the vibe perfectly, otherwise. If you put Ocarina's redeads or creepier zombie 'blins then it'd be perfect.
Oohh baby. Those Eldritch abomination concept art creatures, classic enemies like Redeads and Gibdos, warriors like Darknuts and Stalfos Knights.
Yeah... the Sandship is also another excellent dungeon that would've fit perfectly in Breath of the Wild, as a piece of the environment you could stumble across in the ocean. The dungeon getting torn apart in the end by a massive hydra is a great premise - but as you said Tantalus is... Eh.Same as Tantalus really. All that build-up for a monster that looks really silly.
SameTbh I don't really need more info of the game itself to buy it lol from the two teasers and the comments of more, I know I am buying it day one.
Honestly? I don't even need the title. I'd have I pre-ordered already if they'd let meSo all I really need is the title and release date
Same same sameAlso def would like a few more big dungeons. Liked the shrines and loved the openness of hyrule castle, so some mix of the two would be phenomenal!!!!
SAAAAAMECity in the Sky is my favorite Zelda dungeon ever.
A dungeon like THAT in BotW2, maybe have it being the highest point in the entire sky map...
DAAAAAMN.
So I won't push my affiliate link even though I get a 22% kickback for it, but BoTW 2 has been available to pre-order at Best Buy for a long time.Honestly? I don't even need the title. I'd have I pre-ordered already if they'd let me

Alright, inspired by the Hot Takes over in the Twitter Speculation thread:
I wouldn't mind most dungeons being Hyrule Castle style - i.e. a place that feels like a place and not like a puzzle. They did some neat things grounding puzzles in the environment there: opening gates with cryonis, freeing monsters in the castle dungeon by hitting levers, opening passages by bombing walls or shooting eyes, discovering secret hallways with magnesis...
I'm not a big fan of continuing the "yeah, it's a test so it looks artificial" design after the 120 we got in BotW.
why wouldn't it run on the Switch?Don't think we'll this again until early 2023, hoping for a gameplay trailer + quick turn-around release date like last time. Latest trailers do not look like they are running on the Switch at all, so I think we're looking at another BOTW Wii U/Switch release situation here.
Its running on the switch. It’s just a very well optimized game with beautiful art.Don't think we'll this again until early 2023, hoping for a gameplay trailer + quick turn-around release date like last time. I'm very confident we'll see it again in 2 months. And BOTW was made for Wii U. It'll look a bit better because they don't have Wii U holding them back.Don't think we'll this again until early 2023, hoping for a gameplay trailer + quick turn-around release date like last time. I think we're way past the days of the "looks too good to be on Switch" argument, because uh...Don't think we'll this again until early 2023, hoping for a gameplay trailer + quick turn-around release date like last time. It’s not actually volumetric though. It’s billboarding, just very very well done. Brainchild did an analysis.Very rarely have we seen volumetric clouds on Switch, and the camera cuts having near perfect AA solutions which is even rare for a Series X/PS5 title nowadays. If this is actually running in real-time on the Switch, I'm seriously impressed.
the clouds aren't volumetric tho according to 'Brainchild'. DF just thinks they are. It's running on Switch. The Zelda team is masterful at optimization and art direction. Breath of the Wild is still the most incredible game (when factoring in the scope, art, performance, etc) on Switch IMO, and that was built initially for Wii U. BotW2 is going to show was Switch is truly capable of.Don't think we'll this again until early 2023, hoping for a gameplay trailer + quick turn-around release date like last time. Was brainchild's analysis the one that showed how the lighting angle on the clouds doesn't change as the camera rotates in the trailer? I remember seeing a thing months ago that actually tracked the highlights and shadows during that camera sweep and determined the clouds were billboarded because the lighting angle stays pinned to the camera's position (as sprites would do), rather than the environment (as volumetric clouds would do).the clouds aren't vomumetric tho according to 'Brainchild'. I was just as impressed by the analysis as I was by the clouds themselves. LOL

I played it on Wii U, which rendered in an even lower resolution than Switch, and it's still one of the most breathtaking games I've ever played.I'm glad i came into Breath of the Wild uncorrupted by points of comparison. It's the most beautiful game I have ever seen. So many times I would just stop and look around and stare. Sunsets in particular look absurdly good.
But I think a lot of people play it and can't get over the low res ground/rock textures or whatever. Shame. I hope that won't be me in the sequel.
Edit: I will say that the haziness/softness of the image and the washed out colour palette are actually a huge draw for me. It looks so good and I cringe when I see it emulated "clean". My one worry about the sequel is that it looks like they've gone for a cleaner image. But I've not seen enough to know how I feel about that.
That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if image quality is touched up in the trailer though. Doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the pro, that’s just normal industry practice,My bad, I stand corrected. Nintendo programming wizards at work!
With games like Xenoblade 3 and BotW2 I don't say "these games look good for the hardware". I think these games just look good, period. One can infinitely touch up a game by boosting resolution, framerate, LoD, filtering, etc and there's no denying that a hardware upgrade would make those games into even more sugary eye-candy. But when I look at those titles right at this moment, I think they are damn pretty, among the prettiest games I've seen. And yes I own a gaming PC with the bells and whistles bla bla, doesn't change my mind.Yeah, I think this Switch game is actually better-looking than a PS4 game. Come at me.
There are many Switch games that look better than most games on PS4. PS4's games are mostly more technically impressive, but Switch (first/second party) games look better. Nintendo pushes art and world design over shadow resolution, AF filtering, texture resolution, polygon count...Yeah, I think this Switch game is actually better-looking than a PS4 game. Come at me.
Lets not pretend there aren’t amazing looking games on Sony platforms, artistically and technically. Especially first party. There are many Switch games that look better than most games on PS4. I played most of the PS4 first party lineup. Between great looking PS4 and Switch game I can't pick a winner. Uncharted 4 has 10/10 graphics, but Mario Odyssey has too. I just don't get people that say that Switch games look like shit.Lets not pretend there aren’t amazing looking games on Sony platforms, artistically and technically. Especially first party.
I know you said “most”, but I think first party Sony is ace.
Cross-posting from the Tweet speculation thread, fanart of the trailer Eyegore(?) that I found particularly stunning while speculating about possible future 'Divine Beasts' in the sequel.
The vibes of this are so immediately different from BotW1, as one would expect and hope, but still. Folks already figured out the symbol is most likely a suzu bell, used to summon spirits and ward evil. More fuel for the Sky Islands as a holy place to purify the Master Sword (and Link?). This fellow looks like a literal "Divine Beast", maybe an ally. Looking forward to more classic enemies returning in this reimagined style.
BOTW2 is cancelled.Someone here should make a convincing fake leak for BOTW2.
He said convincing!BOTW2 is cancelled.
I'm only half convinced. For all we know, it isn't even a game, just some guy working with Aonuma making fake trailers.BOTW2 is cancelled.
