The NPC we saw in central hyrule in the last trailer is Blynne from Highland Stable:

Im glad Stables are confirmed for ToTK. (We can see one during the thunder storm in the last trailer.)
We saw Stables in the September trailer already but a nice find, really curious how different will stable theme be.

What if we were in Lorule all along and in TotK we have to rebuild Hyrule?

Was brainchild's analysis the one that showed how the lighting angle on the clouds doesn't change as the camera rotates in the trailer? I remember seeing a thing months ago that actually tracked the highlights and shadows during that camera sweep and determined the clouds were billboarded because the lighting angle stays pinned to the camera's position (as sprites would do), rather than the environment (as volumetric clouds would do).

I was just as impressed by the analysis as I was by the clouds themselves. LOL

Does anyone have the link to the analysis @chocolate_supra is talking about?

The only analysis from @brainchild about Tears of the kingdom graphics I was able to found online is this video:

But the clouds were not part of the trailer analysed in this video, only the dust is mentioned using billboarding.

Thanks a lot 🙏

This is the Traveler's Saddle from BotW. However, you can't use this saddle with Epona (who seems to be Link's horse in this trailer, appearing twice), and both this saddle and Epona are amiibo exclusive.

I'm wondering if this will be the default gear, or if either this saddle / Epona are easier to obtain without amiibo.

The saddle also has some visual details - like an extra backpack and possibly camping gear. These were just cosmetic in BotW, but in TotK, it would be cool if horses could serve as additional inventory space. I'm reminded of that beast of burden from the 2019 teaser which carried a lot of extra gear for Link and Zelda.

Clouds seem to basically be this:

but with short crossfades when a better angle is available instead of just snapping to a new image.

Each cloud is made up from a cluster of smaller blobs too which makes it more confusing, and the pre-lit parts of the cloud with or without sunlight seems to be just a light coming from directly above.

There's some good footage of the clouds in this where you can see them from underneath at 7 seconds in.
I reuploaded the japanese video here so you don't need to watch it in loop.

Looygi always does great work. In that video, he shows a pretty big difference in the terrain around one of the towers, specifically at Lindor's Brow.

It looks like the stone was carved out from the majority of the mountain, except from below the tower.

I really do think these towers will be massive refineries that will change the terrain all around them (like real world mining quarries), and allow you access to the underground.

As for the lights surrounding the tower, remember that modern-day refineries are very brightly lit at night since you're working with dangerous machinery and you want to be able to see what you're doing.

I know this will never be the case but man how I wish the island shot was done on purpose to hide the fact that you can now explore areas beyond the boundaries of the first map

Looygi's video claims there's Sky Island that appear beyond the Hebra region and ask if the map could be bigger. That would be insane.

ackchyually Zelda died back in BotW, that whole game is Zelda's death dream (Link didn't wake up in time, so Calamity Ganon came back and killed everyone, etc.)

Very interesting reddit post that suggests the "waterfalls" we've been seeing from the sky islands are in fact coils of malice, as seen from the first teaser trailer...

This could be interesting. Maybe Ganon elevated the castle to cast his malice and reach the sky islands. That's why they would be now closer to the surface and visible and some are falling down from the pulling.

This makes me soo curious.

Also, even with Looygi Bros. using an emulator with a custom camera tool (my assumption), the improvement in distance detail is evident.

I’m going to replay BotW, have fresh in my mind the entire map, and when TotK releases I’m going to play excited to see how many things changed in the same map between them, what new discoveries and secrets are there for me 🤓☝️

In the trailer ganondorf does say "Hyrule and her allies"...

Edit: for the record I think "allies" just refers to the Zora/Rito/Geruda/Gorons

It is a strange shot, I mean, we know there are sky islands and the one they're showing isn't unique. The majority of what we do see on the ground is in BoTW, so yeah, that island is quite possibly hiding some of an expanded area.

Just checking, because even after editing it's hard to make out. Is this the stormy cyclone in Faron?

The shot is early on in the trailer showing Hateno Village.

Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, pretty sure that's a spiral of little islands that live inside the tornado which is invisible there for some reason.

I'm referring to the out of bounds area looking different.

Anyone know where this is? From the extended footage.

It'd be kind of amazing if we could put zonai wings, like those on that stone eagle in the September trailer, on our horse to so we could fly into the air as if it's a Pegasus.

The initial reveal trailer for Odyssey literally hided the fact that Cappy is a living creature with eyes. The only time they acknowledged it was at the very end of that trailer and that was not even in game footage.

Am I hallucinating or are there sky islands even further up that are just obscured?

Also you can tell how addicted I am by how much I've posted in this thread today 😅

Looking at these distance shots, I'm still not convinced that the map extends beyond the previously out-of-bounds borders. Areas there still look kinda "soupy" in my opinion - and depending on the type of occlusion they use when the player is up high on the skylands, I'm asking myself whether the out of bounds sections will look distractingly out of place or not.

Either that's not the same place, the lod is drastically better, or the terrain has changed quite heavily.

Could be a mix of both; we know for a fact that the draw distance has been improved, but there's definitely been some changes to the terrain in TotK from BotW.
