bold of you to assume that forum D&D won't continue under Suswave. I mean, this whole game is by their design, after all!

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't the most engaged I've been with a monthly discussion thread in quite some time, but that's just me, and I wouldn't ask for this kinda thing every month.

I'd be down for one of these like...once a year. Just one wacky month with one wacky story line to follow. Any more would probably be exhausting, but for this single month, it's been rad as hell.

Alternatively, I'd be down to see like...a dedicated forum game in The Roost or something, if someone had a good enough idea for it, but I understand that it's not as clear cut for a beginning/ending, doesn't tie in as well to current gaming events, and would be a ton of work for a niche idea. Maybe I just need to pick up creative writing...
 
I honestly have no idea what this forum game is about. Maybe I'm old. So long as people are having fun though!

Wholeheartedly agree. It's a really fun change of pace and this thread game makes me check Fami way more often :'D
But too much of a good thing can also be bad, so maybe once a year or so would be neat but it is exhausting for everyone involved I feel. And would probably lose a lot of its

I’m very glad a lot of people are enjoying it! It’s definitely a ton of work.

I’m not sure how a future one would even function, but I wouldn’t stop anyone. Maybe as a separate thread, though — I definitely thought engagement with this aspect would be lower, and definitely intended to stay a little more out of the way of discussion!

if someone really did want to do this in another thread, I’d be happy to share my tools.

I did NOT write an audio-based engine for this, that bit is a (possible but ridiculous) gag, but I do have a lot of scripts and spreadsheets.

I think @shoptroll said this is a MUD? so there may be more of a framework out there than “I made shit up”

if you were rigid about input — made people stick SPECIFICALLY to the KEYPHRASES… you could use far more scripts to autoscore.

Part of why it takes me so long is that many of the pieces I hand-review. I could try to write better scripts, but I’ve tried to keep it quick and not go super far down the rabbit hole.

If my last ounce of wherewithal hadn't faded into oblivion well over a decade ago I'd be happy to take up the mantle. I bloody love pen and paper rpgs and this is easily the most fun I've had in a thread ever. Perhaps if the bottomless depresso martini ever dries up I'd try my hand 😂

Sus.wav: Work is for a purpose. Fairness is calculated by whatever metrics I have on hand. I unequivocally trust data. It is a coincidence that all data I get is from rigid think tanks with independent motivations who may or may not think of certain people (i.e. the working class) as lesser.

2uswave: I, um. I like books. I don’t really want anything to do with having the option to ban them, though. Firmly agree with Suswave about kneecaps.

I've been watching the anniversary stream for Twitch Plays Pokemon, I love that they have a CRT setup with a Super Gameboy.

They added a little Squirtle plushie after the stream picked their starter too.

MUD is an old Internet thing which is short for Multi-User Dungeon. Basically old forum, BBS, or chat software or something like that which predates MMOs. Also called MUSH (Multi-User Share Hallucination) I think?

I never used one before but I believe they were entirely text driven or had fairly simplistic graphical capabilities. Think of like an MMO by way of visual novel or text adventure.
 
Maybe we should ask the candidates their thoughts on the MY ASS faction. It seems like it would be a highly relevant topic.

Also I know we're holding ELECTIONS but not even a smidge of violent subterfuge? That won't do. I STRIKE BOOKS IN THE NAME OF TWO
