I think it's kind of like a parallel universe, that's been around for a couple of years now?
Like Marvel/DC have earths with evil versions of the heroes, MLP has an earth (or whatever their planet is called) where they're contemporary highschool girls?

Probably a ploy to capture kids that don't want toy horses/the barbie audience?

Yes! Somehow my kids also thought there was a Valentine’s fairy. I think kids nowadays expect something for every minor holiday. Next thing they will be asking for knitted goods on flag day

That Playstation news, oof. So turns out when everyone was looking forward to that big 2023 PS Showcase so that they could blow the doors off with the next big step of PS5 and it ended up being kind of a dud especially with first party stuff, it's because they just kinda... didn't have much of anything. Seems like we're really running into a clash between both A) the unsustainability and massive ballooning time and cost of AAA games and B) Fans' expectations, particularly older heavily-invested fans.

Also surprises me to hear that the PS5 is already in its 'latter life', I mean it's barely over three years old and I feel like I just got it!

The loss of Japan Studio and lack of investment in smaller game studios (or at least prioritizing those being made), really has hurt the Sony release pipeline. Sony get those smaller releases to flesh out the schedule like a Patapon or something. I know they were rolled into other studios but the philosophy is gone.

They should still be releasing stuff that aren't "major existing franchises". And if those lower key releases succeed and can convince Sony that these projects are worth the investment, I'd consider that a win!

Absolutely. If this can convince them to try out lower-budget releases to fill holes then that'll make me happy

The My Little Ponies have had alt universe human forms for ages, I thought y'all were nerds.

What I want to know is do they still get magic tattoos foretelling their destiny like tarot cards, and if so, does this universe have different stigmas towards tattoos?

Authy is still around, they're just dropping support for the desktop apps.

Sometimes while playing Oracle of Ages I'm like "gah! I have to do the exact thing in the exact order, with only the most minimal guidance! How annoying and frustrating and silly!"

And sometimes while playing Oracle of Ages I'm like "ha! I have done the exact thing in the exact order, with only the most minimal guidance! How astonishing and fun and satisfying!"

That sequence of 3 locked doors in the seventh dungeon can rot in hell, though I do frequently delight in how tightly engineered the GameBoy Zeldas are.
