They can drop that sexy Paper Mario remake release date in a png attached to a tweet and I wouldn't be sad about no Direct.
JUST DROP IT GODDAMN

EDIT: Also today's Monday. The first possible announcement day is tomorrow.

Starting to think they are prepping for the big stuff and we have no direct this month. Maybe we hear next after Peach game is released.
It's possible. Like I said a few pages back, if there's one year in which Nintendo is likely to break its pattern of Directs, it's certainly the one when the Switch 2 is announced.

And since we're all assuming 2024 is going to be that year...

Nintendo probably forgot to upload the Mini because they're waiting for the XBOX statement just like the rest of us.

If Nintendo are anything like me, they've already finished 1 or 2 tasks today and now they're like "phew, may as well wait until tomorrow to do anything else!"

You're getting tasks done?

Envious.

The strange thing is that (correct me if I’m wrong!) from what I understood Nate does know something about the direct (the format of the presentation) but not the date; while Pyoro doesn’t know anything at all.
Could it be that Nintendo is keeping things more secret than usual?
Or maybe it’s something else. I don’t see why all of a sudden Nintendo would be keeping things more secret than usual other than for a Switch 2 presentation haha.

I think the same. I can't think of any other reason than that. And even more so when it is an end of generation Direct. There is no reason for secrecy

BREAKING NEWS --
beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep

Zippo, who's blog post originally claimed that the Sonic Generations remaster was going to release this Summer and that another new game, a traditional Sonic featuring Shadow, would release at the end of the year, was proven wrong mere days later at the State of Play. He has now gone back and edited the original blog post, which now claims that all of his original details still line up, even though he's now saying it's just 2-3 hours of content. He also removed a previous reference that the game was developed using the Hedgehog 2 engine.

Edit: This story has been updated with an additional example of Zippo being Zippo.

@LukasManak22 didnt you make a post saying all of Nintendo’s directs have come before or after their financial drop? I can’t recall what you said.
Every single first year‘s General Direct in the Switch era happened after Nintendo released their nine months earnings: SO TEAM JANUARY WAS DEAD ALL THE TIME.

Earnings released on Janaury 31st 2018 – General Direct happened on March 8th 2018
(you can argue that there was a Mini Direct on January 11th, before the earnings but it was just a Mini and full of ports and Aces, it was not a full General Presentation).

Earnings released on January 31st 2019 – General Direct happened on February 13th 2019.

Earnings released on February 1st 2021 – General Direct happened on February 17th 2021.

Earnings released on February 3rd 2022 – General Direct happened on February 9th 2022.

Earnings released on February 7th 2022 – General Direct happened on February 8th 2023.

This year earnings are releasing on February 6th 2024 – General Direct will happen after that date. On February 7th. Basically it's the same story as last year, the General Direct will be announced just few hours after the earnings.

I'm proud of you all

"no welp wrap it up" or "reset the clock!" posts yet as Mondays never announce directs (apart from September 2022 of course but... different situation with TGS)

I made a reset the clock joke, so you can feel free to be disappointed in me.

Seriously though:

-NateDrake knows the format
-says that this Direct would be "an odd place" for HiFi Rush to show up
-if it's a Mini, third-party titles would be abundant

I really think we could be looking at a game-specific Direct. Maybe a Princess Peach Showtime Direct? That's the only non-remaster game on the horizon aside from Metroid Prime 4, and they don't do game-specific Directs for previously unannounced titles.

When did Nate say it would be an odd place for HiFi Rush to show?
