I had a meeting during the previous Direct, and Silksong and Prime 4 were not announced.

Tomorrow, I've got no meeting, which means that...

the other people from your meeting in June will get to demo Silksong and Prime 4 and it will be announced in the Direct that they are presently doing so

and then both of them will be cancelled

Based on everything we know I think the following is pretty likely for first party content.

Fire Emblem
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Another Code
Peach game
F-Zero GX Remaster and/or F-Zero 99
Another look at SMRPG remake

I'm going to lean towards Nate's speculation that Prime is a no-show. I feel like it's gotten to the point that Nintendo is going to position Prime 4 as a cross-gen title for the Switch 2's launch, and they won't announce Prime 2 alongside GX. It's more likely to me that Prime 2 remaster is in January.
If Metroid Prime 4 is in the Direct, I will change my pfp to the first reply to this post for a month. Choose wisely.

You're welcome. But if it's any consolation I don't think you'll have to.

I saw somewhere that datamining suggests Side Order delays.
Sorry if I am wrong.
it's not even the datamining, the eshop temp data expects a 2024 release date. they got 3 months to release the DLC in 2024 or they wouldnt announce it at this direct. not too likely imo, summer 2024 is when side order lands i think.

You know what? No Metroid tomorrow likely means that Prime 4 is a cross-gen title. Which is honestly pretty hype.

If Nintendo expects me to buy a brand new system and Prime 4 special edition at the same time when I could just buy the game for a console I already have…

Then they’re absolutely right, because I won’t even hesitate.

You know how when you make a big purchase you feel kind of gross after? Sometimes even if it’s for something you enjoy? Yeah, I won’t feel that at all. Prime 4 would justify the purchase of the Switch 2, no question. Literal system seller for me.

I'm torn, because I definitely would do the same exact thing.

But on the other hand, if they announced it for Switch tomorrow I would absolutely buy the shit out of it for Switch. And if they staggered the release, Nintendo knows sure as shit suckers like us would also buy the Switch 2 version even at full price as well.

Oh you get your Metroid announcement tomorrow.... but it ISN'T Prime 2, 3 OR 4.... naw...

It's a reissue of this Metroid Challenge toy from a 2008 Burger King. Actually, they reissue the whole Wii Burger King set for no reason.

Happy for people who will be playing the Switch port, but I'll stick with my sealed copy of the original #TTP

Metroid will be in the Direct.

They will show Samus in SMRPG.

can someone predict what the direct will end with if Prime 4 isn’t there?

This is really thing thing that has me most curious, because Prime 4 would absolutely make the most sense. But Nintendo has done an amazing job at not talking about Prime 4 for nearly five years now. I'm sure they can find a way to continue that haha.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty much in agreement with MVG that the content of this Direct is very difficult to predict. There are usually around 30 announcements in a Direct, though last year there were 40+.

I keep talking about Silksong, but seriously: as far as indies go, if we get anything, I'd be happy with new info on Outer Wilds, Dave the Diver, or Mina the Hollower.

Me after the June Direct: "it's okay, they will absolutely show Metroid Prime 4 in the September Direct."
Me after the September Direct: "it's okay, they will absolutely show Metroid Prime 4 in the February 2024 Direct."
Me after the February 2024 Direct: "it's okay--"

For real though, the fact that there is a Metroid Burger King toy at all... is kind of amazing.
It's a collectors' item now! The only Metroid meal toy ever released!

(And it's just a shitty ball maze with the MP3 box art in the back, instead of something actually cool! Argh!)

"Before we go, we have one last video to show you, please take a look"

Screen fades to black. suddenly you hear a familiar rap start.

"OH YEA HERE WE GO, ITS DK, DONKEY KONG"

the crowd goes wild. "oh my god its donkey kong yayyyy"

Game Builder Garage logo appears

DK pulls out a chainsaw and chainsaws the Game Builder Garage logo in half

"I couldn't resist, almost 10 years without a new game. Guess we gotta make our own!"

Game Builder Garage: Donkey Kong Country Pack available in 2024.

Environmental artist? Sure. Senior environmental artist? No.
I'd assume a game this big would be in bugtesting by now if it were to show up here. Senior Environmental Artist suggests, at least to me, that major design work still remains. (Sorry, process trusters.)

Surprised how few people are mentioning the Splatoon 3 Expansion. Feels like a shoe-in.
Splatoon 2 had a bunch of info datamined each update before the DLC came out, and the eshop temp date is 2024. Between these two things people think it's not within the first 3 months of 2024 and thus not part of this direct.

Side Order, Fire Emblem, or Princess Peach are my guesses.
I can get behind Fire Emblem Holy War Remake if Prime 4 is a no-show, but my brother in Christ, if either Princess Peach Showtime or Side Order -- two known quantities, one of them looking like a mid-level Nintendo release, the other DLC -- close the direct, things will look quite dire rn, yet also incredibly exciting for next year's February Direct lmao. Either of those closers would be worse than Xenoblade Remake (a game I loved), which closed out my least favorite Switch-era Direct. Let's pray we don't get Overwatch II as the opener.

the only people who care about splatoon enough to mention it also care enough to know that datamining suggests it's been pushed out to spring

This could be completely from my ass since I'm not keeping up with Splatoon 3, but I could have sworn I saw talk of datamines implying it may have been delayed or something?
Wait what. Its been delayed? It could still be shown here. Though the chances have gone down
