If this is about the life support comment, Nintendo's fall is looking good now, but with all the rumblings about the next-gen coming I imagine it's going to quiet down soon after

I don't think Nintendo would host a Direct if their only first party announcements were F-ZERO 99, a Mario vs DK game and a 2024 Peach game. Add to that SMB Wonder had a Direct a couple of weeks ago

I would unironically love an appropriate-for-Nintendo DOA. I always loved the mechanics of that series (2 and 3 specifically) and am bitter about how the stuff the series is known for holds it back and categorizes it. IIRC the team actually tried to tone it down with, I think it was DOA5, but after trailers came out the worst kinds of fans got super loud online, demanding Team Ninja bring back the exaggerated stuff and TN obliged and.. here we remain. 😩

I had seen the really weird movie on tv before and I had seen the commercial for Xtreme Beach Volleyball and had gotten in trouble whenever it came on hehehe but as far as actually playing them, I actually came into the DOA series with Dimensions and 5. I saw Mila in promo material and went "I WANT!" and then Dimensions came out on 3DS which caught me up with the story so I played it, then played 5: Last Round, then 6 which I put a LOT of hours into. I love the Break Blow stuff.

I'm tryna manifest 7, okay? Even if it is Nintendo exclusive, Nintendo exclusive DOA7 is better than no DOA7 at all, kinda like the Bayonetta situation (which they also didn't make "Nintendo friendly" hehehe. Ditch all the male characters, who needs em? Nobody I know plays DOA for a guy called "Rig". We all like Kasumi, Mila, Hitomi, Tina, Ayane, Kokoro, etc. AHEM... Just let me put all the candles in a little circle...

I didn't even say that was all of their announcements, I said it was like 85-90% because Pyoro missed the existence of Wario and Peach last time. Some titles are most likely missing but they're going to be lower key, not to mention Nintendo still needs a Direct for third-parties

Are we acting like Pyoro has some kind of commitment to reveal everything in the direct? We shouldn't put that much stock in the things they don't reveal.
 
Perhaps Pyoro just needed to go to Burger King and get something to eat? All that leaking makes one hungry! I don't expect them to starve themselves entertaining us! You can find Pyoro at Burger King, let them finish their Whopper or Chicken Fries or whatever they ordered and they'll be right back to it, assuming no ninjas got involved. But for real, Ninja Assassination at Local Burger King? I think not...

I love the enthusiasm here :) What I’d most recommend is making use of the hyperlink feature so you can have a shorter list that is easy to read like your first version, but still points people to the sources. It’s the two circles connected together between “I” for italics and the picture feature. You can take the text you have already and link in the sources you want.

So for F-Zero 99 for example you could do something like, to borrow your old bullet point:

Well actually if you look at the charts you can see that by the ever decreasing time between now and the Nintendo Direct coupled with leaks from the "Pyoro" Twitter account, Direct Speculation thread activity has been rising steadily, but ever so slightly exponentially.

F-Zero 99 and Mario vs DK basically killed the spirit of most people posting here. Next hint will be a gif of Samus turning into a morph ball only for Pyoro to like a tweet that says "Metroid Prime 4 Pinball Adventure of FUCK"
 
I will admit it does make sense given the context of the Switch's late life cycle. I don't expect any bombshells except maybe Metroid Prime 4, just smaller titles.
 
If Switch is on life support, then what the hell have the PS5 and especially the XBO been on the past 2 years first party-wise?

The good news is we know he didn’t leak all the games last time. And nothing leaked is a final game. I’m still positive Metroid Prime 4 will show up. Maybe Fire Emblem remake too? Not sure what else can be announced this late in the game.
 
Xenoblade rankings, huh? Well... for me...

Xenoblade 1 and 2 are a near tie for the top. Love them both! I... THINK 1 still gets a little bit of the edge but only barely. The story and characters are wonderful, I really quite liked it... not too man to admit the end of Xenoblade 2 was good at fixing the clogged waterworks, though the end of 1 STILL gives me goosebumps despite me having played it like 4 times already between all the re-releases. For the purposes of 2, I am including Torna in this part of the ranking.

I liked Xenoblade 3 pretty good though not AS good. I think the story got a little too complex for me and none of it ever really reached the emotional highs of 1 and 2 for me, though I do still really like it a lot. Future Redeemed is in this same part of the conversation and I feel the same way.

Future Connected is just a little further down... still not sure how it connected at all, might have to play through it again.

Xenoblade X... sigh... the one I didn't finish. I played through to what I ASSUME (?) was the semi-final boss and got STUCK. Like, STUCK stuck. Skell kept getting wrecked, you can't just GET another Skell, yadda yadda.... whatever. X had a lot of neat ideas ON PAPER... but it didn't quite actually pull them off. The custom character angle was NOT a great idea, I'd rather experience the story through Elma or some other established character rather than a character that everyone has to refer to non-specifically because it could be anyone from a big green man with white eyes and a scar on his face (that was mine) or a small girl with pink hair with no scars but a black mask over her eyes. The fact that the game had you have to download graphics patches JUST to load things (download THIS patch to make enemies load faster, THIS patch to load worlds faster) was an embarrassment. And you can still leap through cars and Skells and such in the NLA area, which makes it... not exactly a showcase of graphics. The story kinda meandered a bunch for me, with a lot of it tied in side missions. So yeah... didn't especially care for this one. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAND I wouldn't particularly care if Tatsu got eaten by Lin... music was good though!

If they ever do Xenoblade X, I personally think they need to revisit the entire idea and give it a whole makeover, top to bottom. No create-a-character, just restructure the whole thing. It was a neat mess of ideas that got us to the higher heights of 2 and 3.

The Fire Emblem GotHW remake feels more like a February Direct reveal to me but i could see it showing up in this Direct

You say "smaller" titles, but if one of those titles was Mario & Sonic at the Paris 2024 Olympics, I would go just as berserk. Not only do I love my Sonic, I NEED my Sonic...

But the Olympic Games are actually secretly really fun. Too many people sleep on them.

Yeah it just takes Nintendo lawyers to contact Twitter to retrieve his email and send him a formal Cease & Desist unless Nintendo likes the conversation and speculation around the leaks..
 
XC3=FR>XC2>XCDE>XCX=Torna.

I just highly dislike the forced sidequests to progress the story from both XCX and Torna which is the reason why I never could never replay the latter. About which of the two is better, the two have their strong points, XCX has the incredible open world but Torna has way better characters, story and battle system.

XC3 remains top because of its actual consistent combination of great characters, world navegation and battle system while FR complements it and turns it into legendary.

Sabi... now that's a name that I haven't heard in a long long time... long time.

If I recall right, that was... QUITE the drama-fueled end for Sabi. Like, someone typed up a WHOLE document detailing it or something. They didn't just go POOF and disappear if I remember right, let's just say that.

Yes, that's the reason why I couldn't say when this Direct will be. After my June victory lap I was contacted by the big N.
 
So, ... anybody else kinda on Team Maybe MvDK Will Be Worth Getting Excited About?

Like, they know the Lemmings-clones angle was getting stale and that's why they stopped making them. And NST's last project was fairly ambitious, doing a lot of the heavy lifting on Bowser's Fury.

I'm not saying it's gonna be some AAA GOTY contender or anything, but my gut feeling is they wouldn't wait 7 years just to make another Tipping Stars. If they're bringing back the Mario vs Donkey Kong brand, I think there's a good chance it's because they want to (re)establish a line of games where they can have Mario, DK, and Pauline all be more front-and-center together in a post-Odyssey/post-movie world.

Or maybe this is just cope and it's really just gonna be Tipping Stars 2.

I actually really liked the Lemmings-style games (never played '94 or MvDK GBA) as a kid, I'll probably get it regardless as long as it's a budget title

I don't like platform puzzlers, aside for Pitman / Cat Trap on GameBoy.

The only way I could care about a new Mario Vs. Donkey Kong is that it comes with DK 94.
