Recently on an Easy Allies podcast, Huber lamented the fact that there’s no ghost house in Mario Odyssey.

What I appreciate with Sunshine, is that Sirena Beach kind of works as a version of a ghost house that is still coherent with the tropical island theme.

Manta Storm can go die in a fire though.
Kinda interesting how Odyssey is like...the one modern Mario game without any real "horror" or ghost-themed location. Closest we get is Bonneton, and that's more...whimsical and silly. Not that I'm complaining, mind you.
I remain an unapologetic Super Mario Sunshine fan even after replaying the game via SM3DAS in spite of its flaws, but I agree that Manta Storm is hot bullshit and easily the worst part of the game. Arguably moreso than the Chucksters.
Made for a good Splatoon boss fight, at the very least!

The huge dragon in Ruined Kingdom can't be more horror, altough it's basically just a boss area.

I mean, doesn't Dark Souls count? 😋

I sure hope so, but then again I haven't fought any Splatoon boss in the single player campaign since DJ Octavio in the first game so I can't really comment lol

OK, Crash Team Rumble is finally getting its first true blowout!

I'm relieved it's not a F2P game ($30 for the standard edition, $40 for the deluxe edition, that comes with some cosmetics); but still.. no word on if it's digital-only... getting your pre-order right now, grants you access to the closed Beta in April (20-24); Game launched on the June 20th (as expected!)

-- gameplay loop seems fun and cathartic! But it's sounding like it will be just multiplayer at launch.. with an option to play against bots only; So I'm hoping at least the launch roster is vary enough to get me engaged; both the launch and shorterm post-launch planned support will be very important to me.

There will be cross-play though, which already helps in situations like this, at least! .. Wish everyone could had the game at the sametime, but as usual.. PC and Switch will naturally get it later. :\

Nice, I didn't know there was Crash Team Rumble news, will check it out

Not a fan of ghost houses either tbh

Crash Team Rumble is looking...really good imo. I wasn't sure what to expect but this is looking like a lot of fun. Might get the pre-order with the April demo

Crazy that so many people messed up and accidentally voted for VII, IX and XIV when they meant XII, VI and V.
9 is an extremely great pick, I'm surprised that it got that high. My favorites have always been 9, 6, and 10, then 12 (I haven't played 14 so sure, it can be there based on what I've heard about it), so that Top 5 is mostly great IMO.

Now, if we can just kick FF7 out of the top 5...

Ghost Houses can be fun when they are about anything other than “oops not that door, pick again. Oops not that one either!”

But then again the issue is that this is mostly what they boil down to

I also do like IX (I really should play it on Switch one of these days), I was just being cheeky 😌

@Soul Skater this is completely random but signatures don't show up for me on mobile and I'm barely ever on desktop, so I only just now saw your sig and without even meaning to I read it in Erik von Detten's voice. Hella nostalgia, well done 👍👍

I think haunted levels in 3D Mario games are much better than the ones in 2D Mario. The Ghostly Galaxy is one of the best stages in Galaxy for instance.

I have recently beaten my first game since before my hand issue started last July. A replay of Super Mario Odyssey. Made my big gaming comeback. I’ve now started a replay of god of war on the steam deck as my next.

@Dragoncaine , @Aurc ,@xghost777 I plan to do Metroid prime next

I am back
Hell yeah! You're feasting like a king for the next few games. I've been BURIED in work with a very special project that I'm excited to unveil soon; a bittersweet one for sure, but so rewarding. I don't expect to come up for air fully until the end of April, but I hope that after this wild week, I'll be able to relax a bit more :) Can't wait for RE4 Remake, my 2nd most anticipated game of the year behind TotK.
Just sharing (for no particular reason whatsoever) this trailer for one of my favorite horror (suspense? thriller?) movies of all time.

Don't Look Now is a masterpiece god damn, so glad I snagged the Criterion edition during a flash sale a few years back

I'll be honest, i'm more iffed by a shitty res/performance gif than i am about games doing that. Like, with games, i don't mind in most cases.
that's good I'm just clowning on the dudes falling on their fainting couches because re4r on PS5 is a bit soft.

Too medieval gothic, not enough horror. Lol.

Please play the Splatoon 3 single player. You will not regret it.
Ugh, I've bought the first two Splatoon games at launch full price and I bounced off of them so quick within weeks. Much as I love the premise (not to mention it's a full fledged package without nonsense microtransactions), I just don't think it's the type of game for me. TPS MOBA just doesn't scratch any kind of itch for me when I'm looking for an online multiplayer shooter.

Look if for whatever reason they do another free play weekend I'll hop on, get my fix of a few online matches, have my ass kicked, and never touch it again 😋

Anyway, I just had this "Aha!" moment when playing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

I actually want to play more of it. Like, it's not just a chore. I want to play more of a video game for the first time in years; I don't just enjoy it when I'm playing it, I'm kinda enjoying it when I'm not playing it. Weird. But cool. I like this.

It seems that trying to get back into playing video games after over a decade is paying off...

It reminds me of the "maze" gimmicks that popped up in the NES games. "LOL you went down the wrong path. Try again!". So fun!

Bayonetta Origins is great at almost every level, but the one that surprises me the most is probably the OST. Hitomi Kurokawa did a good job on Star Fox Zero, but she really went above and beyond for this one. Hope that we can hear more from her in the next years!

With Spider-Man 2 and Starfield now possibly releasing in the same month you've got Xbox fans freaking out that Spider-Man 2 is going to overshadow Starfield and PlayStation fans freaking out about Starfield overshadowing Spider-Man 2 it's clear now what must happen.

Nintendo must delay Tears of the Kingdom to September.

No need. Pikmin 4 will overshadow both.

Shapeshifting eldritch horror rampages across a ruined post-apocalyptic world, devouring all who dare stand in his path

I know it's WAY too early to start Direct hype season, but damn this summer Direct will be the most interesting one we've had in years. H2 is a complete blank slate. We know the least about what is coming in the future compared to prior years. Speculation will be wild.

Once Zelda is out (and everyone has had time to settle from it, which honestly will take quite a while) then yeah the speculation season is going to be really fun. I kind of worry the summer will end up like last year, though, and it'll be mostly smaller things and Partners or the like before we get an actual Direct in September; but that wouldn't be so bad. It IS really fun knowing we know nothing, and given so many unknowns almost nothing is off the table (both positive and negative)

I'm pretty sure we will get a full Direct in June/early July. We know absolutely nothing about H2, so the announcements need to happen before Pikmin 4 drops (wow what a sentence). The shareholders will freak out if they don't.

Instead of driving up for 3.5 hours to New York for a company meeting, I took the train instead. 2 hours to there and back. It was nice getting a taste of what they do in civilized countries. I could just sit back and relax and not have to do deal with assholes on the road.

Wait, release them both on September 6th, I wanna watch the world burn😈
